I’m really happy with Selca, Pencoed. Each member of staff is absolutely lovely. They’re welcoming and happy every single day. They tailor what they offer to suit individual needs like no other nursery I know of. They’re incredibly flexible, accommodating and helpful, and always available to answer any questions. They have a really big open hall which the children love to run around in and explore the different activity stations that are laid out. I love that they can burn off energy even when they’re indoors because the room is so large. They take the children out for walks in the village, to the shops and the park regularly, which I love. They use an app to update you on their daily activities and food that they’ve eaten, which is really useful, and it comes with a daily photo as well. They have been really helpful with figuring out tax-free childcare, the free hours etc, as well, so I can’t fault them.

Hello, I’m Olivia, and I am the Nursery Manager here at Selca Day Nursery – Pencoed.
I am a qualified Level 4 childcare practitioner with eight years of experience in the early years sector. My journey began in primary schools as part of my studies, and from there I moved into nursery settings, where my passion for supporting children’s learning and development really grew. In my previous nursery in Cowbridge, I progressed into the role of Deputy Manager, gaining valuable experience in leadership and high-quality practice along the way.
I have always had a genuine love for working with children and seeing them flourish as individuals. Creating a warm, nurturing, home-from-home environment is very important to me, and I believe that every child deserves to feel safe, valued, and encouraged to explore and learn at their own pace.
Building positive, trusting relationships with families is something I truly value, as I believe we achieve the very best outcomes for children when we work together.
I feel very proud to be part of Selca Day Nursery – Pencoed, and to lead such a caring and dedicated team. I am excited to continue building on the strong foundations already in place and to create lots of happy memories with the children in our care.
If you ever have any questions or would like a chat, please don’t hesitate to come and see me. I am always happy to help!
