Little Dragon’s Day Nursery is a state-of-the-art, family-run childcare setting located in the picturesque village of Snitterfield. Little Dragon’s is an inspirational early years setting that has been specially designed to create a superb enabling environment.
At Little Dragon’s Day Nursery, the team strongly believe that when children are allowed to select where, with what and how to play, they are truly invested in their learning, become deeply involved and therefore make dramatic progress (after all, a child’s play is seriously important business!). They strive to ensure that the children in their care are happy and immersed in their surroundings, and in doing so, the children are constantly demonstrating all the skills required to succeed - concentration, creativity, energy and persistence! Through Little Dragon's creative and ‘down to earth’ take on the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum, children experience diverse and spontaneous child-led activities supported by skilful practitioners that promote early years goals.
At Little Dragon’s, all children are happy and flourish. They encourage and develop lively, enquiring minds and children ascertain a zest for life-long learning. The team does this by enriching children's early years experiences and fulfilling every child’s innate desire to explore and learn. They provide a truly ‘child-focused’ enabling environment that ensures all children are fully immersed in high-quality, purposeful play and are happy, learning and developing at all times. The team are highly qualified and have an excellent understanding of child development. They are nurturing, caring and passionate about what they do and invest time in getting to know each and every unique child ‘inside out’ to ensure that secure bonds are formed and daily interactions are tailored to support children on their individual learning journeys.

All 3 of our children have been to Little Dragons and have absolutely thrived there. They have grown so much in confidence and developed so many lovely friendships. The staff are so caring and kind and plan so many different activities based around the children's interests. The forest school provision is a big highlight as well as the wonderful food menu. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this nursery!
We have had 2 of our children attend this nursery and they have both thrived in the setting. The variety of activities and the care staff show them is of the highest standard and they have both loved going in each day.

As we come to the end of our time with Little Dragons we're certain we couldn't have picked a better setting for our son. The staff know each child so well and go out of their way to nurture their interests and expand their learning. We have been so impressed with the variety of activities and topics covered, especially in the Pioneers Room. The fact that the nursery has a wonderful on-site chef has been such a reassurance, and they've catered for our son's complex dietary requirements brilliantly over the years.

Both our girls have progressed through Little Dragons. The eldest just has a few months left before she moves to primary school. We continue to be impressed by the level or care provided by the staff. The creativity of the sessions on offer. The investment in new forest school facilities and teachers. Their ethos fits well with our families love of the outdoors. We would not hesitate to recommend them to other parents.

My son has had a wonderful experience at this nursery. It has a warm, welcoming, and homely atmosphere that makes children feel safe, comfortable, and valued. The staff are caring, friendly, and genuinely invested in each child's development and wellbeing. They create a nurturing environment where children can learn, play, and build confidence. Communication with parents is excellent, and I always feel informed about my son's progress and daily activities. It is clear that the team works hard to provide a positive and supportive setting. I would highly recommend this nursery to other parents looking for a caring and family-oriented environment for their children
We love Little Dragons! From the moment we joined, the staff have been incredibly caring, supportive and genuinely invested in the children's wellbeing. Supporting my child settle in smoothly from the start . They create such a nurturing environment where curiosity is encouraged every single day....
Their facilities are amazing and they do the BEST nutritious meals for the kids. Everything is very well-organised and thoughtfully designed for little learners. Their motto of outdoor play is fantastic, and I truly appreciate how much time the children get to explore, learn and enjoy being outside.

Our daughter has been a Little Dragons since she was 11 months old. She is now 3.5 years old and absolutely thriving. The staff are wonderful, they know her inside out and truly care about her. Beyond the staff, the other brilliant part of this nursery is the facilities. Indoors is beautifully designed and maintained, but the amount of time my daughter spends out either at forest school or visiting the local villag is amazing. It has really done wonders for her confidence. I cannot recommend this nursery enough and would strongly encourage a look around to see what they are all about.
Very good childcare setting. My daughter loves coming into nursery and her confidence has grown. Good supportive staff. The Forrest school is fantastic alongside all of the extra activities on offer. I Would recommend little dragons.

Some staff were wonderful and we were grateful to them and their effort and we often told the individuals this, the management in our experience consistently let the setting down however, when concerns were raised, instead of discussing, the matters were more often than not met with no response or being told to look elsewhere. After their closure, like others, we were skeptical and appreciated the initial time taken by management to reassure us. But from then on it seemed to go down hill again. With concerns shared including basic settle questions to frequent unknown bruising and injuries not being listened to. Ultimately we felt as parents we had no escalation points on genuine concerns and then noticed our daughter retreating from a confident child to a worried and upset one, we lost trust and our daughter was clearly unhappy.

We are sorry to read that you did not feel Little Dragons was the right nursery for your daughter. Whilst we are pleased you recognised and valued the efforts of our staff team, we regret that your overall experience did not meet your expectations. We always aim to work in partnership with families to provide a warm, caring and stimulating environment. We understand every parent will have different expectations, but some requests felt more suited to a private nanny or 1:1 support rather than a group nursery setting. Our role is to balance the needs of all children, ensuring fairness, safety and opportunity for everyone. We take concerns about childrens wellbeing seriously and encourage open dialogue, with our management team always available to talk. We are disappointed not to be the right fit for your family and wish you well in finding the approach that suits you best. Little Dragons is a family run nursery and many families share positive experiences of their children thriving here.

He'd only attended the toddler room for 8 weeks and in that time we'd already needed to raise multiple concerns about his care, I now believe those were early warning signs of much wider issues in the nursery, but regrettably we chose to trust their reassurances - we just could never have imaged something like this being allowed to happen.
It prompted police involvement as well as an Ofsted investigation which found serious failings, leading them to take the extreme step of closing the nursery with immediate effect - this report is public.
I've long-debated posting this to ensure I'm not posting in anger, but with the nursery re-opened I feel a duty to make prospective parents aware of what happened so they can make fully informed decisions.

We are truly sorry that your experience with Little Dragons was so distressing, and we fully recognise how upsetting this period must have been for you and your family. The incident involving your son had a profound and lasting impact on our entire team, and we continue to reflect deeply on what occurred. We took immediate action following the incident and cooperated fully with both the Police and OFSTED. The staff member found to have breached our safety protocols was promptly removed from the setting, and we carried out a thorough internal review.
In November 2024, Ofsted issued a temporary suspension of our registration. During this period, we undertook a comprehensive programme of review, retraining, and reform. With the support of external consultants, we strengthened our leadership team and implemented a range of improvements to our policies, practices, and culture, including:
• Whole-team retraining in policies, paediatric first aid, safeguarding, and emergency procedures.• A full review and update of all risk assessments and daily care routines.
• Appointment of new senior staff, including a Deputy Manager and additional leadership capacity.
• Strengthened incident reporting and peer-review systems to promote accountability.
• Daily health and safety checks, dynamic risk assessments, and designated safety leads in each room.
• Ongoing oversight and support from independent early years consultants.
Although the suspension was initially for a period of six weeks, our registration was reinstated within two weeks following the provision of necessary assurances to OFSTED. Since reopening in December 2024, we have remained fully committed to embedding these improvements and restoring confidence in our provision.
We respect your decision to share your experience. Transparency is an important part of early years care, and we support the right of families to make informed choices based on open and honest information.
As a small, family-run nursery, we carry a deep sense of responsibility for the children entrusted to our care. Whilst we cannot change what has happened, we are resolute in our commitment to ensuring such an incident is never repeated. We continue working every day to uphold the trust placed in us by our families.
We send our very best wishes to your son and your family.

Our child has attended this nursery for 12 months now and he is extremely happy and settled. We were originally at a different nursery, and after a bad experience there we were nervous about the transition, but we felt so at ease and our child settled quickly. The variety of activities they offer is great and the freedom and flexibility to spend time outdoors has suited our child brilliantly. The staff are all so friendly and have our child's best interests at heart. We feel our child is able to express himself fully and let his personality shine, which shows how happy he is there. Plus sometimes he doesn't want to leave as he's having too much fun! I'd recommend you consider this nursery if you're in the area.
Have been at Little Dragons for a year and am very happy with the nursery. Staff are conscientious and friendly and make the effort to get to know the children under their care and the family members as well. Our little one has thrived in her time there.

One of the highlights of Little Dragons is their commitment to healthy, homemade food. My child has always been a picky eater, but since starting at the nursery, they have been excited to try new foods! The meals are thoughtfully prepared with wholesome ingredients, ensuring that the children are nourished and energised for their busy days of play and learning.

Communication is another area where they excel. Regular updates and photos have kept us well-informed and involved in our son's daily experiences and milestones. We are incredibly grateful for the wonderful experiences and opportunities provided and wholeheartedly recommend them to any parent seeking a nurturing and enriching environment.

Kate has always been passionate about working with children and has thoroughly enjoyed flourishing into a proficient practitioner from Early Years Foundation Stage through to the end of Primary School, having gained her Qualified Teacher Status back in 2008.Kate has enjoyed understanding the ‘learning journey’ that children embark on, and is particularly passionate about their early years experiences.
Since becoming a mum to her 3 children, the world of early childhood development has been a journey that she has experienced first-hand and one in which she has absolutely loved being immersed in. Kate finds early childhood development extremely fascinating, and gets an immense amount of reward and job satisfaction when working with children. Providing children with ‘awe and wonder’ learning opportunities is what inspires Kates interactions, she achieves this through knowing the children in her care, and being able to spot those magical moments where you can make a difference and enhance children's learning. Giving children the opportunity to learn in a meaningful context is something that Kate feels strongly about. She takes pride in creating a learning environment that is rich with opportunities that ‘spark’ that innate desire for children to explore and learn.
