My Sunshine Day Nursery Barnes is a family operated nursery which opened in June 2021. The nursery offers 4 age-rooms across 4 floors for children aged from 3 months to 5 years. The Pre-School Room is on the lower ground floor; Baby Room is on the ground floor; Pre-Toddlers utilise the first floor and Toddlers are on the top floor. The nursery is open 51 weeks of the year from 7.30am to 6.30pm.
Led by the Barnes nursery manager, My Sunshine Barnes’s team of practitioners are passionate about early years childcare and work day-to-day to support each child reach its full potential. The high quality of management and staff ensures that children develop socially, intellectually, culturally, physically and emotionally in a homely, caring and secure environment. Tailored development programmes are implemented for each age range and include creative activities, languages, early computer skills and emergent reading and writing to help the children develop ready for school. Staff members also provide support with your child’s physical, emotional and social development and wellbeing.
Located 15 minutes from both Barnes and Barnes Bridge train stations, My Sunshine is a focal point for local families. From September 2025, the children will have access to a small outdoor learning space (currently under construction). Additionally, the children regularly visit Barnes Common to enjoy exciting nature explorations and fun play.
During the Nursery week, the children engage in extra-curricular activities such as Hartbeeps, Sporty Minis and Languages, with external visits from other providers such as Zoo Labs.
Nutritious meals - Breakfast, Lunch and Tea, along with morning and afternoon snacks - are provided by the nursery's in-house Chef based on a 4 weeks rolling and seasonal menu.
My Sunshine Barnes has a GOOD Ofsted rating (June 2023).

Attendance under 3 days per week: Our calculated fees on this profile are based on a minimum attendance of 3 days per week. If you're looking for 1 or 2 day attendance, please contact the nursery directly, as different rates apply.
All-inclusive private fees: Our private hourly fee is all-inclusive and covers food, activities and consumables for any hours attended outside of your child's funded entitlement. This is different to our funded-only sessions (see above), where food, activities and consumables are charged separately and voluntarily.
For new parents wanting to join our waiting list there is a non-refundable £100 registration fee.
For parents wanting to secure the offer of a nursery place there is a £200 Place Acceptance Fee.
Note 1: This fee has a 14 day grace period when changes or cancellation are allowed.
Note: 2 After the 14 day grace period, no further changes are permitted and the Place Acceptance Fee becomes non-refundable.
Note 3: The £200 Place Acceptance Fee is deducted from your child's first month's fee invoice.

Would never consider sending my children anywhere else. All of the staff clearly care a great deal about all of the children, from management to the chef, they know every child by name and always take the time to update at the end of the day. My eldest has been in pre-school for a year and my youngest will be starting pre-school in September 2025. The preparation for starting school has been amazing. The children are regularly taken on trips to the local library and playground, they have French lessons once a week as well as music lessons and sporty minis. My daughter has loved her time here and I'm sad that it's coming to an end.

Overall Experience
We love this nursery for our son. It's a great experience for him and wouldn't change a thing. The staff are really lovely as well definitely recommended. My son is a lot more confident and has learnt a lot from this nursery.

Louisa has 20 years of experience in Early Years education and brings a passion for nurturing, creative, and inclusive learning environments. Louisa holds a BA in Drama from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA), a Level 3 Diploma in Early Years, and is fully trained in safeguarding, food hygiene, and first aid. Louisa is also a trained Gymboree teacher and professional singer, which, alongside her drama background, allows Louisa to bring imagination, energy, and joy into every activity. Louisa also has extensive experience supporting children with English as an Additional Language (EAL), including working as the English Language Facilitator in a German-speaking forest school setting, helping children build confidence through play and communication.
Louisa has held several senior leadership, manager and director roles, leading teams and ensuring outstanding care and education for children. My Sunshine Barnes is the second nursery setting that Louisa has managed. Louisa operates a truly wonderful, dedicated team, working alongside them to create a warm, safe, and inspiring environment where children are happy, confident, and excited to learn. Louisa is now studying for an MA in Educational Leadership, due to be completed in 2027, which will continue to strengthen the experiences My Sunshine provides for every child and family in our care.
