Newlands Early Years Centre opened in September 2021 after The Early Years Group took over from Footprints. The setting will continue to operate the same way it has done for over 40 years, enabling children to grow & develop to reach their full potential.
The setting is based within the grounds of Newlands Primary School in a purpose-built building, catering for up to 28 children aged between 2 to 5 years...

I don't have a bad word to say about Newlands Early Years Centre. Two of my children have attended Newlands and one still does. They have both thrived, the staff are friendly, approachable and all around fantastic with the children. They are always compassionate and not only care about the children attending the nursery but the whole family and will go above and beyond to accommodate. I can't thank them enough for what they have done for my boys. I highly recommend them.
I absolutely love Newlands Early Years Centre and all of the staff, 3 children through the doors in the last 7 years, and I have one more to join in a few years time. My 2-year-old is currently in 3 days a week and going full time in September, I couldn't imagine entrusting any other setting with my children. The learning is wide and varied and they always encourage all the children in the setting to try new things and to get involved with all the activities. They can't do enough for the children and the parents alike, communication is fantastic its just an all-around wonderful preschool for all children. And as it's next to Newlands School it's been a fantastic feeder for my 2 eldest children. I cannot recommend Newlands Early Years Centre enough.
My son has announced without being asked that his school is good and that he enjoys it. I feel confident and comfortable leaving him there and was thrilled when he said he prefers this school to his last. I would absolutely recommend this nursery/preschool.
Our two-year-old is there now and he absolutely loves it. The staff are so kind and they really care. I cry every time I take my oldest son back to pick my younger son up because the love they have for him is incredible. Thank you, Newlands!

Anne has been with the centre since 2021, prior to that she worked in other Early Years settings since 2011! She also has background with Primary School children.
Her favourite activities with the children is music and movement, woodwork, stories and outdoor play!

Michelle has worked in Early Years since 1994, and been with the preschool the entire time!
She loves telling stories using puppets, and planning and implementing school readiness activities.

Laura has worked in Early Years since 2009 and has been with the preschool the entire time!
She loves to experiment with playdough with the children and teaching them traditional playground games and encouraging movement with sticky kids.

She really enjoys time outside, arts and crafts, stories and woodworking.

Layla came to us on a student placement originally and decided to join our team in 2025.
She favourite thing to do with the children is arts and crafts but she is also great at leading cooking club with them each week!

Liz is our bank staff member, she is passionate about young children and enjoys helping out from time to time. She is really good at getting the children to think creatively during there play through skill questioning.
