Little Inspirations - Tonyrefail

Rhian has worked in the childcare industry for over 15 years and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her role. For the past six years, she has held managerial positions, supporting staff teams and ensuring the highest quality of care and education for children.

She holds a CCPLD Level 5 qualification and is also qualified in Playwork and Youth Work, giving her a well-rounded understanding of children’s development from early years through to adolescence.

Before joining the team in Tonyrefail, Rhian worked with Little Inspirations in Pontypridd, where she developed her leadership skills and passion for creating nurturing, inclusive environments.

Rhian is a Welsh speaker and is passionate about embedding the Welsh language within the setting. She actively encourages and supports staff to promote the language through daily routines, songs, and interactions, helping children develop confidence and pride in using Welsh.

Rhian is deeply committed to her local community and takes pride in working within the area she grew up in. She believes in building strong, trusting relationships with parents, families, and local partners to ensure that every child feels supported, valued, and confident to reach their full potential.

Her approach to leadership is hands-on and heart-led—she strives to motivate her team, celebrate their achievements, and create a positive, collaborative workplace where everyone feels part of something special.

Sophie holds a degree in Childhood Studies and has been part of the Little Inspirations Tonyrefail team for over four years. She began her journey as a Nursery Assistant, quickly progressing to Room Leader, and is now proud to be the Deputy Manager.

As a fluent Welsh speaker, Sophie is passionate about promoting the Welsh language and culture throughout the setting, helping children develop their bilingual skills in fun and meaningful ways.

Sophie enjoys working closely with children, parents, and the local community. She is dedicated to providing a nurturing, inclusive environment where every child feels happy, confident, and supported to achieve their full potential.

Leah holds a degree in Childhood Studies and has a strong background in early years education. Before joining Little Inspirations, Tonyrefail, she gained valuable experience working with Mudiad Meithrin, supporting children’s development through play and Welsh language learning.

Leah joined Little Inspirations four years ago as a Nursery Assistant and has since progressed to become the Baby Room 1 Section Leader. She leads a wonderful and dedicated team, ensuring the youngest children in our care receive warmth, comfort, and opportunities to thrive.

A Welsh speaker, Leah promotes the use of the Welsh language throughout daily routines and play, helping to create a rich bilingual environment. She loves watching the children grow and develop, and she takes pride in building strong, trusting bonds with each child and their family.

Sarah holds a CCLD Level 3 qualification and is currently working towards her Level 4, further developing her knowledge and skills in early years education.

She has been part of the Little Inspirations family for over nine years, with a short break in between to focus on her own children. Sarah began her journey at our Llantrisant setting, where she worked for six years before joining the Tonyrefail team as a Nursery Assistant. Through her hard work and passion, she was later promoted to Educational Lead.

Sarah loves getting to know the children and their families, building strong relationships based on trust and open communication. She also enjoys working closely with outside agencies to ensure every child receives the best support and the best possible start in life. Her warm, caring nature and dedication to inclusion make her a valued member of our team.

Shannon holds a CCLD Level 3 qualification and is our dedicated Flying Start Leader. She has been with Little Inspirations for over eight years, beginning her journey in our Llantrisant setting as a Nursery Assistant before progressing to her current leadership role in Tonyrefail.

Shannon is passionate about supporting children’s early learning and development, with a particular focus on ALN (Additional Learning Needs). She works closely with each child to provide tailored support, ensuring they have the best possible start in life. Shannon is committed to creating a nurturing, inclusive environment where all children are treated equally and given every opportunity to flourish.

She also enjoys building strong relationships with children, parents, and the wider community, ensuring that learning and care are always a collaborative and positive experience.

Lakshi holds a Level 5 CCLD qualification and has been working in childcare for the past five years. She joined the Little Inspirations Tonyrefail team at the beginning of the year and has quickly progressed to become a Section Leader.

Lakshi is a dedicated and caring practitioner, always placing children’s wellbeing and development at the heart of her practice.

She ensures that every child feels valued, supported, and encouraged to explore and learn in a safe and nurturing environment.

Her warm, positive, and approachable nature brings joy and energy to the setting, inspiring both children and colleagues alike. Lakshi works closely with her team to plan and deliver engaging activities, support children’s individual needs, and create a welcoming atmosphere for families. She is passionate about building strong relationships with children and their families, ensuring each child has the best possible start in life and thrives in their learning journey.

Aimee holds a CCLD Level 3 qualification and has been working in childcare for the past five years. She joined the Little Inspirations Tonyrefail team in the past year and has quickly become a valued and caring member of staff.

Aimee is a nurturing and supportive practitioner who takes great pride in helping children learn, grow, and achieve their full potential. She enjoys creating a warm and stimulating environment where children feel safe, happy, and confident to explore new experiences.

She also builds strong, positive relationships with parents, ensuring clear and open communication to support each child’s individual journey. Her kind and approachable nature makes her a trusted and dependable member of the team.

Laura is one of our longest-serving team members, with an incredible 21 years of experience working for Little Inspirations. She holds a Level 3 CCLD qualification and has dedicated most of her career to supporting children’s learning and development within our Llantrisant setting, before moving to Tonyrefail four years ago.

Throughout her career, Laura has worked with children of all ages and abilities, including those with Additional Learning Needs (ALN). She has a deep understanding of how to provide the right level of care, support, and encouragement to help every child reach their full potential.

Laura is known for her calm, patient, and nurturing approach, creating a safe and welcoming environment where children feel confident to explore and grow. She is passionate about supporting her colleagues, sharing her extensive experience, and helping to maintain high standards of care and education across the setting.

Her dedication, loyalty, and warm nature make her a much-loved and respected member of the team, and her commitment to giving children the best possible start in life continues to shine through in her daily practice.

Alisha holds a degree in Early Childhood Studies and has been part of the Little Inspirations team for over six years. She began her journey at our Llantrisant setting and has recently joined the Tonyrefail team, bringing with her a wealth of knowledge, experience, and enthusiasm.

Alisha is a caring and nurturing practitioner who always puts the needs and well-being of the children first. She takes pride in providing high-quality care and learning experiences that help children grow in confidence and reach their full potential.

Her strong observation and assessment skills allow her to track children’s progress effectively and share valuable insights with parents about their child’s development and achievements in nursery. Alisha is also a supportive and dependable team member, always willing to take feedback on board and contribute positively to the smooth running of the room.

Kealie holds a Level 2 CCLD qualification and is currently working towards her Level 3, developing her skills and confidence as part of the Little Inspirations Tonyrefail team. This is her first role in childcare, and she is already making fantastic progress in her professional development.

The children are drawn to Kealie’s quiet, calm, and nurturing nature, and she has quickly built strong, trusting relationships with them. She provides comfort and reassurance, giving the best cuddles and ensuring every child feels safe and cared for.

Kealie is a keen learner who is always eager to help, whether that’s supporting colleagues, setting up engaging activities, or contributing to the smooth running of the room. Her gentle personality, caring attitude, and enthusiasm for learning make her a valued member of the team and a positive role model for the children in her care.

Hannah holds a Level 2 CCLD qualification and is currently working towards her Level 3. She has been part of the Little Inspirations Tonyrefail team for the past year, working in Room 1 (the Baby Room), where she has built strong, trusting relationships with the children in her care.

Hannah is a kind, patient, and nurturing practitioner who provides a calm and comforting environment for the youngest children in the setting. She communicates effectively with parents, ensuring they feel confident and informed about their child’s daily experiences and progress.

She is always eager to learn and develop her practice, taking on feedback positively and contributing thoughtful ideas to the team. Hannah works well alongside her colleagues, supporting the smooth running of the room and helping to create a warm, engaging, and caring environment for all.
