Puffin's Day Nursery and Preschool Windlesham is based on Chertsey Road and caters for children aged 3 months to 5 years.

Located within easy access of the M3 and M25, the local benefits include a wooded area, park and recreational ground. These are within easy access to the setting, allowing the children to venture on walks to explore the local area.

The nursery provides care for two separates ages, its Baby room caring for children aged 0-2 years and its Preschool, which cares for children aged 2 - 5 years.

They offer full day sessions (8am-6pm) or half day sessions (8am-12.30pm or 1.15pm-5.45pm). They also offer an early drop off, from 7.30am and late pick up, 6pm-6.30pm for a small additional fee.

The nursery is open 51 weeks of the year, closing on all bank holidays and from the 24th December until 2nd January.

At Puffins, they pride themselves in building strong relationships with children and their families to support the transition into nursery life. They believe communication is a vital part of the nursery experience as they commit to working closely with parents and carers to provide outstanding care for children.

The extraordinary team is carefully chosen to reflect the same visions and values they share at Puffins.

They regularly offer additional training to extend their knowledge and expertise in certain areas and use their own bank team to cover annual leave and staff sickness.

Both our children have attended Puffins since the age of 1, with our eldest about to leave to start school. We are sad that she is leaving as she will miss her Puffins friends and teachers! We have been so pleased with the care in both rooms there and feel that the staff really know our children well.
The children feel safe, loved and encouraged to learn and develop. The staff are well trained, approachable and positive. The food is fresh and my daughters love the menu choices, often having seconds! Although there is no outside space they leave the setting daily for walks which is great to see as they're also accessing the local community and learning more life skills than a garden would provide, such as road safety and sharing space with other members of the public. My daughters have thrived here and thoroughly enjoy attending the setting. I would recommend it to anyone.

Puffin's Nursery has been a really positive place for my daughter over the two years she's attended, and we've had a very good experience. She has built a lovely little friendship group and enjoys spending time with her friends and the caring staff who know the children well. She looks forward to going
each day, and they spend a lot of time outside on daily walks. We can see the continual improvements in her speech, and letter and number recognition, and her confidence has grown enormously. I'd happily recommend Puffin's to other parents looking for a warm and supportive nursery.

Our daughter has attended Puffins for 3 years and we wholeheartedly recommend the nursery. The nursery is a lovely setting and the daily walks to the local park, learning and discovering nature and the outdoors have been a highlight for our little one! She's had the most fantastic time in both the baby
room and the pre-school room. The staff are very dedicated, compassionate and kind, qualities they promote to the children. We feel they've given our daughter the perfect start and she's now ready to head off to school, confident and respectful. Thank you Puffins!!

The Team at Puffin's are brilliant. Our son has been there for a couple of years and our daughter is soon to be joining him. The Staff are attentive, caring and engaging with the children, but also the adults. Our boy always comes home happy, well fed and sharing stories of what he has been up to each

From day one of my daughter going to Puffins (baby room all through to pre school then leaving to infant school), the whole team have consistently been amazing with my daughter and myself. Any problem my daughter had they would do what they could to help. They have been an amazing support system for
our family. Everyone is so lovely and they really care about all the kids and make it such a lovely experience for everyone. I could not recommend them enough. I am very sad my daughters time has come to an end as she goes up to school but they have made her so ready and excited to go and learn!

We currently have 3 children at Puffins - age 4, 2 and 1. Words cannot express how grateful we are to Puffins for the services they provide - my children are thriving!
Puffins is always clean and my kids rave about the food daily. The team are incredible - they really get to know each individual child
and you as parents. We receive detailed handovers every day with what each child ate and how long they slept for - along with regular pictures on the app of what they got up to during the day. The reports they write on each child at the end of the year demonstrate just how well they know each child.
When I was looking at nurseries, the lack of garden space almost put me off but I can honestly say I am so glad I ignored that initial thought. The boys go on daily walks which they LOVE and they learn so much whilst they are out and about! They love that the walks often include running through the forest, making dens, or a trip to the local park!

Just the most amazing setting that has made our child the happiest. The turnover of staff is very very low and as a result they get to know your children very well, and our daughter is so comfortable with all the staff as it feels so homely.


She has made some lovely little friends. Loves her daily

walks / park trips and enjoys all the fun activities / arts and crafts.


If you are looking for a home away from home with consistency then this is the place to go.

All three of my children have attended Puffins over the past 5 years of so. We have always been very happy, and found the team to be caring, attentive and supportive of our children. Puffins is relatively small compared to some day nurseries and so all the staff know the children by name and there is
a really nice family environment. All of my children developed in confidence and achieved a great deal whilst at Puffins. They made friends, adored their key workers and we never had any cause for concern. Many of the staff who worked at Puffins when my eldest attended are still there now. I was initially concerned about the lack of outdoor space, but I came to really appreciate the additional confidence and experiences that came from them going on a walk, rain or shine, 1-2 times a day (always in small groups with several members of staff). Overall, we would highly recommend Puffins to any other local families.

Our son has attended Puffins for over a year now and we couldnt be happier with our choice. He has delayed speech and various other needs and Puffins have been amazing in supporting us and referring us to specialist schemes to assist him.


Seeing him enter Nursery and hugging the staff really makes

you feel at ease that he is happy while he is there and you can tell they genuinely care about him and his progress.

My two children were each at Puffin's for 3 years. I couldn't praise Puffin's highly enough. Each staff member is kind and caring towards the children and really take the time to get to know each child's individual needs. Both my children loved going to Puffin's, they ended up doing extra days because
they wanted to be around their friends and the staff so much. The food is really good, it's all made fresh on-site with a good nutritional balance. If we have more children we will not hesitate to return to puffins. The children go for two walks a day and play all sorts of games on the walks, stop for snacks, explore the woods etc. (come rain or shine). Thank you for being a huge part of both my children's early years and preparing them for school.

Our son loved Puffins for around a year before a mass exodus of staff lead to a drop in standards. My son is very placid but had 3 ongoing incidents with other kids that weren’t addressed, one was completely ignored by email, the other 2 were answered with ‘we didn’t see anything’ - an excuse for poor
supervision and doesn’t mean it’s not happening. Staff are well intentioned but our concerns for his wellbeing weren’t answered/actioned leading to him refusing to attend and us changing his session to avoid one of these other children. This repetitive lack of safeguarding is unacceptable.
The setting is incredibly expensive for somewhere that offers one room and no outside space, although there are daily walks to local parks and outdoor spaces. Given this lack of space, there’s a huge age range in the pre school room, our son started in this room just before his 2nd birthday and had he stayed, he would be 2 months shy of his 5th birthday by the time he left to for reception in September 2025.

I do appreciate that there were a number of staff changes within a short period of time, this was due to four of our team members leaving to go on Maternity leave within a month of each other. Whilst we appreciate this can be unsettling to have so many changes, we of course were supportive of these team members as this was a celebration for them personally and ensured to spend time focusing on supporting the children with the changes that had happened. Within the preschool room, there is an age gap between the youngest and oldest child, however, we adjust our practice to suit each child. We are still aiming to get a garden for the setting, however, have found huge benefits in taking the children on daily walks to explore the local community. We are very lucky that Windlesham is a beautiful village with much to offer, and feel that the children have fantastic learning opportunities on our outings.

My daughter has absolutely loved being at Puffins, she has really excelled in her listening, speaking and learning, my daughter's key person is so passionate about children’s development and has been doing some great work with her. Three staff members, in particular, have all been such a huge support
towards her learning, she just simply loves going to nursery. I really like how Puffins has structure and learning, it’s not all about children being dropped off and left to play,
They are all learning and it really shows when she comes home. I’m excited to see how much more she will develop in the preschool room.

My child has been attending Puffins for 1 and a half years in both the baby room and pre-school and has thrived there. They are quite shy but the teachers have accommodated for that and worked with them to help bring them out of their shell. The staff are caring and whenever I pick up my child, they
are laughing, singing or dancing. The facilities are good for the kids but there is no outdoor space so the children go for a walk twice a day. Food options are varied and my child seems to enjoy them. The hallway area can sometimes be a little cramped for pick up/drop off and it can be hard to find space to hang up your child’s belongings but in the grand scheme of things, it’s not a big deal. The main thing is the care for my child is second to none, they are happy and the staff are very caring and attentive towards them. They are also polite towards us. Staff are always very responsive and willing to answer any questions you have and have very positive and happy personalities!

We love the fact Puffin's Pre-School & Day Nursery is a smaller, more intimate setting compared to some, and think this contributes towards the fact our son loves his time here. Even though he is only there for two half day sessions, his development in so many areas has blossomed thanks to Puffins.
The care and attention shown by all staff is very high and we would have no hesitation in recommending this setting. The location in Windlesham is surrounded by fantastic park areas and woodland close by which helps bring out so many skills. Thank you Puffins.

My husband and I are both so happy that our daughter is attending Puffins. The care and attention she receives from her teachers is outstanding and the interaction we also get from them keeps us involved. Our baby has been attending Puffins for about five months now and absolutely loves it. It's the best feeling handing her over to the lovely staff in the baby room and seeing her happy and waving goodbye. Her keyworker clearly adores her, which is everything you could want. She eats well there and loves
the toys there. The App is great as it's not information overload but tells you just enough. There is nothing more the baby room staff could do to make me happier!

Very happy with our experience with Puffins. Our daughter is in only two days a week but she loves it. She is already quite attached to the ladies caring for her and we do feel like she gets the attention and care she needs while there. We as parents are kept up to date with any milestones and progress
she is making as well as ways in which the staff can be of any help.

I have worked in Early Years for over 15 years, beginning my career as an Apprentice and progressing to my current role as Nursery Director. I have been with the company since it first opened in 2018 and played a key role in preparing the setting for opening, as well as welcoming our team and families into the Puffins family.


It has been a joy to be part of the nursery’s growth and to continue working alongside the wonderful team we have built together. I am passionate about creating a nurturing, supportive environment where children, families, and staff can thrive.


Outside of Puffins, I am a mummy to two lovely little girls, and I enjoy spending quality time with my family.
