Situated between Epsom Town and Downs this beautiful Nursery forms an integral part of a happy, successful Pre-Prep for boys and girls aged two and a half to seven.

St Christopher's is a finalist in the Independent Schools Association Awards 2025 for 'Excellence and Innovation in Early Years', a finalist in the Independent School of the Year Awards 2025 and declared by the Independent Schools Association to be the winner of the Independent Junior School in the country in 2020.

The outstanding Nursery provision is created by the spacious setting, both indoors and outdoors, led by a qualified Teacher, supported by talented Early Years Practitioners and Nursery Assistants. In addition there are lessons with specialist teachers for French, PE, art, Forest School and music

As specialists in Early Years provision, the staff create irresistible activities on a daily basis in a tailor-made environment that encourages and supports independent learning. Nursery children develop skills and talents beyond their years with impressive results following the nursery's focus on learning through play.

The Nursery children benefit from a spacious six area free-flow setting complete with two Interactive Whiteboards and an impressive child-size kitchen in daily use in a cheerful light and airy accommodation with direct access to the beautiful grounds.

  • Our nursery offers 3 session options; Morning: 8.30am – 12.00pm, Extended morning 8.30am - 1.30pm and Day: 8.30am – 3.00, all sessions include a morning snack and a freshly cooked lunch is included in the extended morning and full day. We also have additional wrap around care of Larks from 7.45am -8.30am and Owls 3.00pm – 6.00pm.

Parking

  • Prospective parents can park in the staff car park on Downs Road, subject to a space being available.
    The neighbouring road, Chartwell Place has some parking restrictions, but these do not impede normal nursery and school drop off and collection times. These parking restrictions are in place Monday to Friday from 10am-11am and 1.45pm-2.45pm.

Both my kids have attended St Christopher's School and Nursery. Our son transferred from another local nursery at the start of pre-reception, and the difference in care was astronomical. The staff are amazing, very welcoming, competent and genuinely care about the happiness and development of every
child there. They do so many different activities and experiences that they wouldn't get anywhere else, from performances, visits to local theatres, a class excursion, French lessons, cooking and many more. The fact that they are attached to the main schools and integrated into so many activities made his transition into reception very easy for him.
The communication and engagement the teachers have with parents are amazing, from sending photos to inviting parents in regularly for assemblies and visits to view their work.
We were so impressed with our son's experience at the nursery that we transferred our daughter there as soon as she was old enough. She is also very happy there.

We had a number of options a lot closer to where we live, but we are so glad we made the choice to send our children to St Christopher’s School. From the moment you step in, you get a fantastic family atmosphere where the teachers are so focused on the children's development. With so many activities
and facilities, our kids are spoilt for choice of things to do. Our children have developed so much since joining, and all of this would only be possible with the amazing head, who sets the standards and ensures everything is geared to get the best out of each child. I have put three very different children through the nursery, and all have had a great experience. The range of new learning activities never ceases to amaze me, even after all these years. The staff are kind, long-standing and fun. The close connection to the school makes the transition into reception
very easy, and they are off to a great start in phonics and maths as they have already had such a good foundation with their fantastic nursery teachers. A truly magical nursery I recommend to everyone. Holiday clubs and pre and after school care are also great. A really happy nursery.

We have the great fortune of now having our third boy go through this incredible nursery and cannot put into words the superior standards of care, love and wonderful education they have and are receiving. We feel fully part of a community and legacy that St Christopher's gifts the children. The older
boys have made friends that they are still in touch with. The nursery encourages the growth of confidence in a safe and nurturing environment. The kids have benefitted from the staff's remarkable ability to make them feel unique and special with lots of one on one care, allowing them to have a wonderful foundation and grow from a young age. To us, St Christopher's remains a modern wonder, and may it do so for many children to come. We've always felt included in this journey and couldn't recommend it more highly!

We highly recommend St Christopher’s - it’s a very nurturing and encouraging environment where the teachers do their best to bring the best out of children. From the creative activities that encourage children to think outside of the box, to lovely outdoor space to encourage physical activities, it’s

St Christopher’s is a wonderful school, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. My second child is currently in pre-reception there and is very happy. It has a warm and nurturing environment, like being part of a family. Despite this, the school do push the children academically, so it is an excellent
balance. They are very proactive in helping children speak publicly, and to that end, there are many class assemblies, poetry competitions, music assemblies and usually two whole school performances per year. All children are involved, even the youngest ones in the nursery.
The nursery itself is bright and spacious, and the staff are excellent. We looked at many nurseries locally when deciding where we would like to send our eldest, and St Christopher’s really stood out head and shoulders above the rest. Our youngest has followed in his footsteps because there really is no better place to start a child’s learning journey than this!

Our youngest daughter is currently in pre-reception at St Christopher's School. She is genuinely excited to go there every day. The nursery is fun for the children, but they learn so much in such a short time, and this is testament to the excellence of the teachers and support staff who are brilliantly

Laura Fisher

Job Title: Deputy Head and Lead Nursery Teacher Joined: 2018

Laura initially joined St Christopher’s as a Reception Class Teacher moving to her current role as Lead Nursery Teacher taking the high expectations of her children with her. She is a talented teacher with 12 years of experience having qualified with a BA (Hons) in primary teaching.
Teaching Early Years is not just a job for Laura but a passion. Her approachable and empathetic nature, as well as being a mum of 3, makes Laura perfect for this role. Laura is committed to providing an engaging and inspiring environment which allows the young children space to develop personal resilience, independence and confidence.

Mrs Grehan joined St Christopher’s as the new Headteacher in September 2022 and continues to see the Nursery and Pre-Prep school go from strength to strength.
