Evergreen enriches the lives of children to laugh, learn, love and grow.

Evergreen was established in September 2017, opening its first setting in Fulwood. The settings are designed to feel like a home from home, whilst also providing the very best care and education for all children. Fulwood has 2 open plan rooms where children ages 2 to 4 years can explore and a large outdoor area which can be accessed by the children freely.

Evergreen is family run and they pride themselves in always striving for excellence in their approach to early years education, which in turn positively influences children's daily lives and prepares them for school and their life ahead.

The team has a strong set of core values and principles that they have developed as the ‘Evergreen Way’ and these are fully embedded and drive all that they do at Evergreen. The main aim always being that Evergreen wants all children to be happy, confident and believe they can achieve their potential.

On two occasions, Evergreen has been awarded national recognition for their early years practice, which they are very proud of. More recently the owner and senior early years teacher have been identified exemplars in early years and furthermore invited onto the lead practitioner programme for Lancashire, which leads the development of high-quality practice within Lancashire’s early years.

My son absolutely loves Evergreen! Since moving here in January he has learnt so much and made so many friends! I have only good words to say as my son loves going here every day, and has improved so much with his social skills and especially his vocabulary!

My daughter has recently started at Evergreen, she hadn’t left me since March when the pandemic started. I was very worried about how she would adjust in a new setting but it’s safe to say she loves it. She’s been a little upset but as soon as we get to the door and the staff say what they are up to
she is straight in waving me off. It’s so nice knowing my child is happy and in safe hands!

We left our son in the nursery as both I and my wife are key workers during these difficult Covid pandemic times. The staff were very accommodating and flexible. My son really enjoys being in the nursery. I would highly recommend this nursery.

We have been very happy with the provision at Evergreen Nursery. My daughter has found starting nursery tricky but the practitioners have been very kind and helped her settle quickly.
We would highly recommend Evergreen to anyone looking for a high-quality caring learning environment for their child.

We moved our daughter here from another nursery over six months ago and wish we had done it sooner. She settled immediately, as all the team are amazing, genuinely care about all the children, work brilliantly as a team and are passionate about what they do. There is a great involvement with us as parents
with regular stay and play sessions as well as regular updates on what they’ve been doing. Highly recommend.

We are completely satisfied with the care our son has received at Evergreen and would recommend the nursery to anyone. The staff are all fantastic, hard-working and caring. They make every day a wonderful experience for the children.
Our son has gained so much confidence and knowledge whilst at the
nursery and he has made some wonderful friendships. The nursery building is bright, clean and welcoming and has different areas that enable the full curriculum to be delivered.

Teachers often share their knowledge with parents, which allows them to have efficient time with their child at home. They also keep parents up to date with the child's development, pointing out next steps and topics which they are going to teach, so parents can talk about the same things with the child
at home. Nursery staff prompt parents daily about meals the child has had and pass on all the necessary correspondence. The nursery works with third-party organisations, so children could have supervised activities such as; swimming, rugby, football, etc.

A great environment for children to learn. The key worker plays a vested interest in my child's development and supports them as much as she can.
My child has grown so much, socially too.

My daughter has come on in leaps since we moved her here - re her speech, table manners, social aspect, eating more veg/less picky with food. She always wants to go every morning and rarely wants to leave. The mixing of pre-schoolers with toddlers means toilet training progresses quickly. Most importantly,
they spend a huge amount of time outdoors regardless of the weather and consequently she is raring to walk to nursery, come rain or shine and is keen to ride he scooter/bike daily. Fantastic. Regular time spent sitting with books is also paying dividends. Thanks.

As parents, we cannot recommend Evergreen more highly. No two days are the same and the staff put their all into creating activities that are not only a lot of fun but educational too. Our daughter has come on leaps and bounds since starting there and surprises us every day with something new she’s
learnt. There is a big emphasis on spending as much time as possible outside exploring and playing and the outside area is fantastic and changes as the weather does - in the summer the paddling pool often makes an appearance! The nursery staff genuinely go above and beyond to make Evergreen what it is - a wonderful nursery with happy children and a real sense of community.

Evergreen offers a warm, friendly setting with a fabulous well run team who love children. They have so many stimulating and educational activities in offer each day. They have a wonderful outdoor activity area and are well networked in the community for offering extra activities such as rugby, football,
swimming. The children enjoy visits from outside companies like the fire service and police and petting zoos. The children venture out on walks too.
Our little boy settled in quickly and absolutely loves going here. The team are an absolute credit and put in 110% consistently. Would highly recommend.

So many positive things to say about this nursery, I don't even know where to start.
My daughter attended two nurseries before she started school and neither were up to the standards that Evergreen demonstrates on a daily basis.
My son's confidence and learning ability have come on so much since starting
at Evergreen and not only are the staff supportive and encouraging to my son and the other children that attend the nursery, but they have been supportive and encouraging to me as well.
I can't thank them enough for the time and effort they have put in to help us. For all these reasons I can't recommend them enough.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.631) out of 10 for Evergreen Early Years - Fulwood is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 11 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 11 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.856 for Evergreen Early Years - Fulwood is calculated as follows: ( (114 Excellents x 5) + (17 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 132 Ratings = 4.856
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.775 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Evergreen Early Years - Fulwood is based on 11 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 = 3.775
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 40 number of registered child places is 8, which has been reached with 11 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Jackie Nuttall

Job Title: Family Engagement Lead/Administrator Joined: 2026

Hello, my name is Jackie, and my role at Evergreen Early Years is Family Engagement Lead.

I joined Evergreen in February 2026 after having been at a local Primary School in Preston for the past 26 years, where I was a Family Support Worker. Within that role, I have supported many families who have been facing difficulty but who also just felt they needed a listening ear and somebody to talk to. I have also supported the children in school with their learning in many ways.

I decided to move over to Early Years as I felt that I needed a new challenge, and I was lucky enough to obtain my position at Evergreen.

I have two grown-up children, a daughter aged 35 and a son aged 31. I also have a 6-year-old granddaughter. I love family time and making lots of memories with them. In my spare time, I make sure that I continue with my hobbies, which include walking, reading, crochet/knitting, puzzles, yoga, crafts, and baking.

Within my job role, I love that every day is different, and I hope that I can support and make a difference to the families of Evergreen Early Years.
