I would highly recommend this Kindergarten to anyone who's looking. The staff here are honestly fantastic with all children, they are always busy and doing exciting things my son loves it so much. Over the years the school have been so supportive in many ways and I'll always be grateful for them. Again would highly recommend.
The staff at this nursery are absolutely amazing. They are incredibly attentive, supportive, and always willing to help whenever needed. It's clear they truly care about the children and their wellbeing. They have done a fantastic job meeting my child's emotional needs and have helped my son in so many ways during his time here. Communication with parents is always brilliant, which gives real peace of mind. I couldn't recommend this nursery enough!
We have had a really positive experience with Little Delwood, and couldn't be happier with the care our daughter, Julia, receives. The staff are incredible-always supportive, which gives us great peace of mind.
A special mention goes to Dianne and Sophie, who are Julia's main carers. They have built a strong and trusting relationship with her, and it's clear how much they care about her wellbeing and development.
Julia can be a bit anxious and very attached to her mum at times, but she goes to nursery happily and talks about it all the time at home. That in itself says so much about the warm and nurturing environment the team creates.
It also matters a lot to us that the children spend so much time outdoor (especially walking in the Woods). The focus on outdoor play and fresh air is something we really value, and it's wonderful to see how much Julia enjoys it.
We are very grateful for everything the Little Delwood does and would highly recommend it to other parents.
The team have created such a nurturing, fun and supportive environment for the children to really explore and thrive. It's clear to see the bonds between staff and children throughout the setting. They somehow remember every child's family members, pet names, favourite toys and upcoming life events / trips.
As a family we've been so incredibly impressed with Little Delwood. They've been such a beautiful and influential part of my son's early years, I cannot imagine my son staring school this September without the care and skill they've poured into him during his time here.
We couldn't recommend Little Delwood enough if you are looking for a pre-school. Our son loved it and the wonderful staff really helped to prepare him for school. Our two year old daughter now goes here and is absolutely loving it. The staff are incredible, they go above and beyond for the children. I'd really struggle to send our children anywhere else after they've been at this pre school, prior to moving house it was without a doubt worth the 30min commute each way. The children do so much and are often out for walks in the community, trips to the library etc. As soon as we visited the atmosphere was calm, happy children, the way the staff treat and speak to the children we all felt at complete ease. Communication is also excellent with lots of updates and photos of their day which is always lovely to see how happy they are and what they are up to. We are very grateful our children have been able to go to such a wonderful pre-school.
My daughter attended and has moved on to school and my son currently attends. At pick up my daughter excitedly gets out the car to get her brother and often gets treats or cuddles with the staff. They're excited to see her and hear how she's getting on. Although a small setting, the children are out everyday twice a day! The staff are so friendly and trustworthy. They give you a handover at the door which is personal to your child and they know your children, what they like, their funny habits. We took our children from an ofsted outstanding setting, where my daughter cried every drop off for years, to little Delwood. My daughter came out of her shell, happily ran inside and loved her teachers. The activities, the love, the peace of mind are unmatched by other settings. I honestly could write pages on why this place is so wonderful. My standards are sky high, my son has allergies, health conditions. LDK provide top level care where the kids have such fun! You get so many photos. 10/10
We love LDK! Our little boy is thriving here with the incredibly experienced and kind team who really have a wealth of experience in all things early years. Every week there is so much going on within the setting and so many opportunities for the children to get out & about on daily walks and outings. Free play is constant & varied but there is also so many more structured activities for the children to take part in giving them a truly enriching experience. My little boy comes out happy and the staff are so lovely with him. We get regular updates from daycare via the family ap, with his progress and any milestones reached as well as day to day goings on. Someone is always quick to reply with any queries you may have too. Thank you!
What a wonderful setting with truly caring staff members! I was searching for a pre-school that offered hands-on activities, life experiences and caring and king staff - Little Delwoods is this!! I couldn't be happier with the care that my daughter receives. She has been attending for a year and a half now and has flourished in this time. She loves their weekly outings, trips and all the different visitors that come in. Little Delwoods really do aim to give the children as many experiences as they can, broadening the children's understanding of the world. We are so pleased we found such a caring community.
both my children have attended Little Delwood. my oldest is now in year 1 and my little girl will soon be starting Reception in September, so our time with the Little Delwood team is near the end and it is very sad. I couldn't have trusted anyone else with my baby girl after witnessing the amazing care and attention my boy received. For my daughter who is not as confident as her brother and is delayed in speech, this was the best choice ever. The extra time they dedicate to help with her development has helped her in so many ways. Every member of the team is warm and friendly and both my children have loved them all and their days spent there.
What a wonderful nursery. Our child has been there for nearly a year now and the development in her is amazing. They keep them so busy with trips to the park, the woods and the library amongst others. They make learning fun and the staff are just incredible. Watching our little girl develop friendships with her peers and how much she loves her time there is priceless.
We don't live in the area but after my eldest son went there I knew I wanted my youngest to experience it too and definitely the best decision.
As well as having a great time inside and the garden, they also get to go for lots of walks in the woods exploring and even to the coffee shop and library.
Can't recommend Little Delwood enough and all that they do.
1. The staff, my daughter had a different setting previously and we looked around a lot of nurseries when we moved but I've never seen an early years setting with the same amount of competent, committed, professional staff as Little Delwood. They are so experienced and seem to genuinely love thinking up exciting new experiences to engage the children. Which leads to...
2. Day-to-day activities and experiences. I didn't quite believe the manager when I visited and she said the children went on trips out practically every day, turns out that's exactly what happens! Whether it's the woods, the park, the library, local shops and cafes or just a walk around the block looking for autumn leaves, I absolutely love how much they get out and about. It feels like a perfect balance between an outdoor setting/forest school and also having somewhere warm and dry to retreat to. 10/10
He also does Spanish on Wednesdays which he really enjoys, and it’s great that the nursery can offer these classes.
They do loads of other activities such as baking, painting, games and many other things to keep the children interested. The staff set up a different theme each week and have activities based around the theme which is great!
The staff always give informative updates at the end of the day, so we are kept fully up to date with what they’ve been doing during the day. I cannot recommend this nursery highly enough. Both myself and my son will be very sad when he has to leave to start school in September!
• Location: This is situated in a residential area with lots of car parking spaces so drop-offs and collections are easy. The site has an outside lawn on one side and a concreted play area on the other. The building is east-west facing so there is sun on both sides.
•Learning: The staff seems to be proactive. I was asked if there was anything I had in mind that I thought the nursery should be covering. I felt I was listened to, but I have to say, my child seems to come home full of excitement and looks forward to talking about what she did that day. Learning through play seems to be the policy. There is a wood nearby, so the children are exposed to the changing seasons. Spanish lesson on a Wednesday is the highlight of the week. Hola!
• Food/Nutrition: The children bring their own lunchboxes. This suits us fine. We are vegan and gluten-free. Snacks are provided. The staff have bent over backwards to accommodate us, even in the baking sessons.
•Great Work!
All staff are friendly and genuinely love the children. 10/10 to them. Option for term time only and holiday club during school holiday is a bonus to give flexibility to parents!
They have been on walks to the nearby woods and exploring outdoors almost every day (weather permitting). If you are looking for a setting which has an outdoor experience but also has clean/inspiring indoor space, this is perfect. I selected them since my little one was two years old when he still need his nap (I prefer him to properly lie down instead of in a pushchair outside), but I also wanted him to explore the outside. This setting provides the best of both worlds.
Staff are the best you can ever imagine. They take time to listen to problems that we encounter with our little one and we work together at home and in kindergarten to address the issue as a team.
Very accommodating and always friendly. My little one loves it, my other half and I love it! Best in Chandler's Ford!!
Extremely happy with Little Delwood Kindergarten. My daughter was always happy to go. The staff are very friendly, and professional and make every day fun for all the kids. I found that the staff are very flexible and happy to accommodate all specific needs. I am one hundred percent recommending Little Delwood Nursery, keep the amazing work going!
My daughter joined Little Delwood Kindergarten in August 2021 and has loved it right from the first day. I was keen that she be somewhere where she could get out and explore, and she certainly gets that! Most days there is a walk either around the local area or to the nearby woods. They make lots of use of the paved area out the front and the green at the back of the building too. The staff all know her (and all her quirks) - she is very much an individual rather than ‘one of many’. I can always tell what she’s been up to as there are lots of lovely photos on the Famly app (and usually paint in her hair!). There is such a lovely feel about the setting and I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending it.
The setting is lovely, the effort put into making every week fun and tapping into the kid's curiosity is excellent.
The teachers are warm, personable, approachable, and clearly brilliant with the children.
The activities are creative, the use of imagination and exploration when taking walks to the woods and including fairies for example is just lovely.
My family and I will have lasting memories from Little Delwood; both in the lovely keepsakes that come home, and the relationships we’ve built there.
Our daughter has been attending Little Delwoods for about six months now and we are so happy we chose Little Delwoods for her. The nursery staff are always so kind and attentive and always appear cheerful. We know how much our daughter loves attending Little Delwoods from the way her little face lights up when she knows it's a Little Delwood day. The Famly app is a great feature enabling us to see what she has been up to at nursery and it's lovely to see her with her peers and teachers. I would definitely recommend Little Delwoods to anyone looking for an outstanding place for their little ones.
Little Delwood is a fantastic nursery, my daughter looks forward to attending every week. We transferred in September from a different nursery which was no longer offering the nursery experience we were looking for. Little Delwood more than meets our requirements. They have a lovely nurturing environment and do so many fun activities such as baking and taking lots of walks in the local area. They also do a fantastic job in helping the children gain independence skills in readiness for school.
