Seahorse Nursery Southfields is a family-owned nursery based within Linden Lodge School. They opened this nursery in 2020 and have a wonderful team of trained and experienced teachers whose passion it is to care and teach the children in their care!

The beautiful nursery has four outdoor play areas including 2 gardens, a playground and a woodland walk with a fish pond, trampoline and bug hotel as well as 2 warm and welcoming classrooms equipped with exciting spaces to explore! In the 2-4 year old room, they have an exciting role-play corner where you can be transported into a new world, from a police station to a restaurant in London!

A construction area, Montessori play opportunities, awe and wonder area filled with natural resources, and access to specifically planned activities based on the prime and specific areas of the EYFS such as maths, Literacy, and expressive arts and design. In the 0-2-year-old room they have a home corner area that helps to spark curiosity and an understanding of the world around them from a young age, a black and white corner for younger babies, active story areas with puppets, a variety of sensory experiences such as water and sand play, and much more!   

With a focus on learning through play, the team at Seahorse Nursery endeavours to provide endless opportunities for children to play, learn and explore, enhancing their socialisation and communication skills, promoting their independence and confidence and developing all those key skills during their early years.

They offer a range of extracurricular classes such as Tennis and French Lessons, Forest School, language group sessions and music classes. They have weekly visits to the Library for a special story session with the librarian, and the Starfish classroom has access to Whizzy Wonders, who come in for a fun sensory session.

As parents, we could not have been happier with Seahorse as an extension of our family looking after our son from the age of 1 to 3 years old. The staff are loving and attentive. All staff are extremely approachable and listen to the opinions of the parents.
They offer an extensive wide range of activities
and instil a sense of learning through play.
I can highly recommend Seahorse!

We were extremely happy with the care the nursery gave our eldest daughter and continues to give our youngest daughter. The staff are excellent and provide a loving, fun, and educational environment for the children. My daughters really enjoyed their time at nursery. I had total confidence that the
staff were providing a high level of care for my daughters. They became like an extension of our family – we are very fond of them. My eldest daughter has recently started school and I feel her experience at nursery has prepared her really well both educationally and socially. I would highly recommend Seahorse Nursery

My son has been attending the nursery since he was 12-months-old, and he is now leaving to start school. In our eyes, this is still the best nursery in the area. The level of engagement of the teachers, the variety of the activities that the children have been exposed to and the communication with the
parents have been excellent. I would definitely recommend this nursery to any parents living in the area!

My son attended Seahorse Nursery from 14 months of age until he was 3.5 years old when we then moved house and left London. From the beginning, the nursery staff were very welcoming to both our son and us as a family. He was nurtured and cared for with much compassion. The nursery provides great daily
feedback including photographs, which we loved to receive. My son loved all the daily activities, which were very diverse, and the outdoor play was always a big favourite of his! Staff were really attentive and responsive. A wonderful team and nursery.

Finding an excellent and first nursery for your child is very important, and we were super happy when the nursery finally had a place available for our son, as we had been on their waiting list for a few months. The carers are very friendly and always ensure our son feels comfortable during his settling
in sessions and his time at the nursery.
The daily reports are very good and are sent via emails at the end of each day, and we really love looking at the photos and the descriptions of their daily activities. Our son’s personal, social and emotional development has significantly improved since joining the nursery and we cannot thank the staff/carers enough for supporting his development.

Excellent nursery, a very familiar and nurturing environment, staff absolutely fantastic, always willing to go an extra mile. Hi - I'm the Principal of Seahorse Nursery. I’m the person who is responsible for making sure all our children are learning, happy and safe while in our care. I grew up in Southfields living above the original term time setting and have been teaching in Early Years since 2012. Before moving into Early Years full time I worked for the Home Office in London and the European Parliament in Brussels. I studied at Kingston University for my Early Years Teacher Qualification and more recently studied at the Said Business School at Oxford University through a Goldman Sachs small business programme. I live locally in Southfields and have two children. My main responsibilities are teaching and learning, day-to-day operations, recruitment and safeguarding. I look forward to welcoming you to Seahorse!

Carly has been the Area Manager of Seahorse Nursery since joining the team in 2017, after gaining years of experience and training since starting her career in the early years of 2011. She received her degree in BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Education from the University of Roehampton and continues to take part in training every year on a range of different topics and is especially knowledgeable in Safeguarding, SEN and Health and Safety Practice.


Carly is involved in all aspects of nursery life, and although she is primarily office-based, you can also find her in the classroom, helping with meal times, and getting involved in a wide variety of activities and parent events.

I joined Seahorse Nursery in 2022 as a deputy manager and later transitioned to Manager. My journey in childcare began in 2015 as an apprentice studying for my level 2 and 3 qualifications. Drawing from my 10 years of experience in childcare, I ensure that my team of dedicated and passionate teachers delivers high-quality teaching and care to the children in our setting. I serve as the Designated Safeguarding Officer and the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO). I am committed to supporting parents from diverse backgrounds and helping them transition into joining the nursery. Whether it's returning to work after maternity leave, moving to the UK from another country, or enrolling your child in a nursery for social opportunities, I am here to support you. The children are at the heart of every decision I make, and I ensure that the children are at the utmost priority. I work in partnership with our ethos, 'Learning about the world through play' and help to inspire my team to embed this into their teaching daily!
