Puddleduck Preschool achieved Strong standards in three areas and Expected standards in three areas in its latest Ofsted report card (September 2026).
The nursery received Strong ratings for behaviour and routines, children’s welfare and wellbeing, and inclusion, with Expected standards in achievement, curriculum and teaching, and leadership and governance. The nursery provides early years childcare for children aged two to four and is set within the grounds of Ascot Priory on Priory Road, SL5, with 48 places and opening hours from 8 am to 6 pm, Monday to Friday.
Children at Puddleduck Preschool benefit from a broad early years curriculum with a strong focus on communication, language development, and creative, play-based learning. The nursery features a woodland area where children explore nature, develop physical confidence, and build curiosity through activities such as balancing, threading, climbing, and investigating minibeasts.
External sports sessions further support children’s physical development, and the nursery’s inclusive approach ensures children with additional needs receive targeted, specialist support.
The nursery team works closely with families through daily conversations and the GrandirUK App, sharing updates on each child’s learning and progress. A dedicated nursery chef provides nutritious, balanced meals, and strong settling-in routines help children feel safe, confident, and ready to learn from their first day.

Puddleduck has been a home-from-home experience for my daughter. I will be very sad when she leaves in the coming months for school. In the words of my daughter who says, "I don't want to grow up and go to big school, I want to stay at Puddleduck with my friends and teachers!" All the staff have been incredible with her, they are all so caring, attentive and have been a huge part of her development and learning. The makeover of the nursery recently is wonderful, the forest school is so lovely and the outdoor area and the learning opportunities that Puddleduck have created have been unforgettable. A big thank you to the staff who have played a huge part in my daughter's happiness at Puddleduck!
