YMCA Merstham Hub Pre-school offers high quality and affordable childcare for children aged 2–5 in Merstham.

The nursery has funded spaces for 2-year-olds in receipt of Feet funding, and accepts the 15 hours Government funding for all 3 & 4-year-olds. In addition, the nursery also accepts the 30 hrs funding that some families may be entitled to.

They offer full-day sessions 08:45-14:45 or half-day sessions in the mornings 08:45-11:45, or half day afternoons 11:45-14:45. A minimum of two half-day sessions a week.

The nursery also offers an additional lunch club available to morning children 11:45-12:45 charged at £6.00 for 3-year-olds and £7.00 for two-year-olds.

The nursery has a friendly, professional team who will help to settle your child and enhance their learning and development through fun, stimulating activities and experiences.

The nursery follows the Early Years Foundation Stage and will work with parents to ensure that all children have opportunities to develop, progress and be confident to the best of their ability.

All children have access to a secure outdoor play area which includes water play, gardening and outdoor toys, accessing the garden is part of the daily routine.

I have always found the pre-school to be a very caring and welcoming environment. The staff are all amazing and loved by the children.
Both children have blossomed and thrived whilst at the YMCA preschool. They have thoroughly enjoyed their time there; they have been provided with a great range of
activities and more than enough toys/books/dressing up etc that they could ever need.
They have loved going in every time and have always come out full of exciting and positive stories.
As children in care, I feel that their needs and those of other professionals associated with them have been proactively supported by the manager. I have particularly appreciated the attendance flexibility that this preschool was able to offer.
Overall, I would highly recommend this pre-school.

The preschool is a caring, loving place and it also has helped my son learn new things, being able to make friends and it’s just so warm and welcoming. I’m so grateful I found this preschool, and the staff are just incredible and helpful, couldn’t fault it. Best choice I made for my kids.

 I would highly recommend this preschool. The staff are amazing and my son loves going in every day. It's got such a welcoming feel and nothing is never too much for the staff. My son has come on so much with his speech and is making so many new friends that he comes out of his day always smiling and
can't wait to tell everyone what he has done for the day. I love looking at his online journal to see the pictures of all the children having fun.

Our child has flourished during his time at YMCA Merstham Hub Pre-school. The teachers have been wonderful in bringing him out of his shell and he looks forward to his days in nursery. He always enjoys telling us about all the wonderful things he has done there.

I highly recommend this preschool. The staff are absolutely amazing and my son loves going in everyday. It's got such a welcoming feel and seeing my son so happy, making friends and smiling when he comes out, makes me a very happy mum. Can't recommend enough.

Amazing nursery with very friendly staff who made my son feel comfortable and happy within minutes on his first day. I'd definitely send my younger child here when she is old enough and I can't recommend them enough.

Would highly recommend this nursery! A lovely setting with a friendly and trustworthy atmosphere; the facilities are all new, modern and clean, with a variety of educational toys and a lovely outside play area.
The staff are brilliant here - knowledgeable and understanding. They helped my really timid
child to settle within a couple of weeks without separation tears, for which I’m very grateful. Children do lots of drawings and craft which they take home and nursery regularly organises themed parties and events. My child is now really keen on going there and likes chatting about her activities with friends and the staff.
Prices are very affordable. Great location for access to the Hub facilities and local library, which are in the same building.

Lovely friendly and welcoming environment. All the staff are incredibly passionate about their roles and are amazing with the children. My daughter thoroughly enjoys the setting and really looks forward to coming in on her set days. I would highly recommend the pre-school to other parents.

My son started this preschool just a few weeks ago and I couldn’t be happier. My son is non-verbal and on the autistic spectrum and as his mother, I was petrified of sending him to nursery. After a few weeks, I have not one worry about how he is doing. All the staff have gone above and beyond to help
my son settle in, taking time to help him with his communication cards, his level of understanding is incredible now, the staff work with other organisations that are helping my son on his journey and I can’t thank them enough for all they have done so far. My son doesn’t walk to nursery, he skips, with the biggest smile on his face, he can’t talk but in his own way, he tells me how happy he is that he goes to this nursery.

My son has been attending the YMCA Preschool since he turned two in April this year. I can not praise and recommend this preschool enough!
We have seen such a massive change in my son since he has started with his speech, confidence and ability.
He has recently also started potty training and the
staff have been amazing in supporting him with this.
All the staff are so friendly and lovely with the children and I feel so happy and at ease knowing he is safe hands.
My son has made so many new friends since starting and is loves going!

The girls have settled really well, they love coming to preschool and don't want to come home sometimes. They have bonded with all the staff really well and always tell me what they have done in the day. The building is always clean and tidy and the staff are always well dressed.

Jane

Jane Bellenger

Job Title: Pre-School Manager/Designated Safeguarding Lead Joined: 2020

Jane qualified as a Nursery Practitioner in 1992 with the NNEB Diploma.


Jane worked in several settings as a nursery practitioner for over 15 years and also completed her level 5 qualification whilst working.


Since 2002 Jane has worked in Nursery management, she has managed small settings of 24 right through to large settings that have the capacity for 130 children and 34 staff members.


Jane loves working with children and enjoys seeing them learn through play and ensures they are given opportunities to reach their full potential, she is also very passionate about delivering high-quality customer service.

Lisa

Lisa Cox

Lisa has worked in nurseries for over 17 years and has a wide range of experience.


Lisa has a level 3 qualification in Childcare and Education.

Helena is a qualified Level 3 practitioner who has worked in Early years for over 10 years.


Helena runs our Brainy Bots Stem sessions and has a naturally inquisitive mind, the children at preschool love spending time with her and she is always in demand for games and activities.

Kayleigh

Kayleigh Ford

Kayleigh is a qualified level 3 practitioner and has worked in Early Years for over 4 years.


Kayleigh has a great can do attitude and will always be keen to challenge and extend the children's learning further.
