Sunflower Seed Preschool and Before and After School Care

My 8-year-old went 6 years ago; my 2-year-old began in March. They both love it. My 8-year-old goes in half term; looks forward to going. Both have thrived and you can see how much the staff care for the children building strong relationships. They have both grown so much in confidence. The staff are so helpful and make everything so much fun. Both girls have learnt so much there. Staff keep you very well informed on how your child's day has been and what they got up to. There are always fun activities and great themes. They have a lovely outdoor space and enjoy the field too. They have great connections with the school, story time with the reception teacher to let them get to know each other in advance and being in the school grounds makes the transition to school much easier as they are familiar with it already. It is a clean, well-laid-out place with fun exciting setups each day for the children and so many varied things for them to choose and do. Overall I couldn't recommend them enough. They have been amazing for my girls and all of my friend's children too.

We have been using the Sunflower Seed Preschool for many years now, with my older two children who are now at school and now my daughter has just joined. The setting is great with plenty to do and entertain the children, but the care really is the icing on the cake and the team provide comfort, nurture and all round fun for the children. The staff really take the pressure off, leaving your little one knowing they’ll have the utmost care and wonderful experience on their journey to ‘big school’. I wouldn’t use any other setting.

My children all attend Sunflower Seeds. It is a lovely setting on the school grounds, making it easy for drop off and pick up when trying to get multiple children to different places. My youngest who spends most of his time there has thrived and is learning lots. He has a lovely key worker, who gives plenty of feedback regarding his development and needs. The staff are all friendly and the management team are engaging. I have no doubt that they put the children's needs at the forefront of the service they provide. A larger outdoor space would be great, but the staff do take opportunities to use the facilities around them.

Since 2016 to present, my daughters have each attended Sunflower Seed. The staff are such warm, kind, comforting ladies, they show such love to the children while engaging them in their learning through play. They have enriched both my daughters' lives and have been a home away from home for them. One staff member in particular has been an absolute shining star and has been such a massive part of the girls' lives, we will forever be grateful for the memories, experiences and care the girls have received. Thank you ladies for being so incredible at your jobs.

We can't recommend them enough and will hopefully send our son next year too.

My little boy has been going here for at least six months now. He absolutely loves it here. Since starting, his speech has drastically improved, and he's even started to sing. Each day my little man is quite happy to run into the nursery and always comes out smiling and happy. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Can't recommend this nursery enough.

Staff are lovely with the children and think of great learning opportunities for the children.

Afterschool care is brilliant; my son comes home having been fed a meal he likes, is happy having been entertained and engaged by the staff, and he just enjoys going to Sunflower Seeds. The close association with school means afterschool clubs can be taken, and the children picked up from school and cared for by Sunflower Seeds staff during standard working hours, without additional provision being required.

My daughter started at Sunflower in November 2022, and I'm very pleased with how much she has developed in only two months. The staff are all extremely welcoming and open the door with a massive smile. The setting is very clean and tidy, laid out in a very good way to make the most of the space. My nervous, anxious and shy daughter can walk into the setting crying some mornings; however, every time she walks out the door at the end of the day, she has a massive smile on her face! I cannot recommend Sunflower enough!

We've used Sunflower Seed for over a decade across three children. All day when they were little, and after school, now they're not. My oldest two loved their time there, and my youngest still attends after-school a few times a week. The staff are wonderful and hard working. Would highly recommend!

When I drop my 3-year-old off I can relax because I know she is safe and happy. I'm going to miss it when she leaves for school because I trust all the staff at Sunflowers implicitly.

I was very apprehensive about my daughter starting preschool, but these ladies have made the whole experience for me a lot easier. My daughter absolutely loves going; I dont worry at all when she is there as I know how much she enjoys it. The staff are just amazing; they are like an extra family for my daughter. I love seeing all of the updates in photos and her development. Such a happy and positive place, and so glad that I made the decision to send my daughter to this preschool.

Lovely preschool! My daughter loves going, and the ladies are absolutely fantastic! She has come on leaps and bounds! The staff are superb. My daughter has settled in so well! Very supportive of her needs too!

I highly recommend Sunflower Seeds. My son loves going. The staff are amazing and so accommodating. I don’t worry at all when my son's there as I know how much he loves it and how well he is looked after. All the staff are lovely. It’s great value for money, and you know your child will be well cared for and happy. You get regular updates with pictures too with updates on your child’s personal development. It is a fantastic place.

There are not enough positive words to say how happy I am that both my children attend Sunflower Seed. My youngest attends the preschool and is joined by my eldest (who is at Primary school) for the breakfast/tea club. This nursery is child-focused, supports children to participate and provides quality early years education as well as outstanding care with lots of love and cuddles thrown by the wonderful staff for good measure. I could not recommend this preschool more.

This pre-school is the best. I have a son that attends here five days a week. The staff are amazing. His key worker is always looking for ideas and support for our family to help with my son's behaviour needs. She works with the early year's specialists to ensure my son gets the support he requires. Amazing pre-school, outstanding staff and perfect location. I love everything about it!

Such a positive and happy person! So nice to see my daughter enjoy her time! I couldn’t wish my daughter to be looked after better! I really appreciate all the hard work!

My son has been at Sunflower Seed since October 2020. The staff have been excellent with our son, he’s built a strong bond with his key worker. We receive lots of updates on his day on the app, which is lovely. His speech has developed so much since going to preschool. He comes home and says he’s had an ‘amazing day’, we couldn’t ask for a better preschool for our son.

Our son has been at Sunflower Seed since the summer of 2020. The staff have been amazing and he has formed an extremely close bond with his key worker as well as with all other staff members. He is always happy to go in the mornings and he is always happy when we pick him up. It is lovely to see how well he knows the routine they have established; for example, he wanders straight into the bathroom on arrival to wash his hands, pulling up his little sleeves as he goes. It is nice to see him so familiar and comfortable with the environment he is in. It is also a very inclusive setting and he knows everyone’s names and chats about them. We see the care and effort staff make to set up the room ready for the day and Tapestry is a great tool to share little snippets of their day with parents. We couldn’t ask for a better place for our son to be introduced to a fun learning environment.
