Will opened his first Banana Moon at Dyce with a passion to create outstanding quality nurseries serving as a community resource and support network for people in and around Aberdeen and the shire. Will and his family are dedicated to raising the bar in early years provision and strive to support the staff teams, families and most importantly - the children. Will and his wife Cindy are very supportive in helping the nursery meet the ideal of raising the attainment level and making Scotland the best place to raise children.

Hi, my name is Amanda,
I have been working in the Early years since I left school. It is a vocation that I am very passionate about and dedicated to. I opened the Banana Moon at Dyce 5 years ago alongside Will. We have strived to reduce stress, and support and nurture the families and children that attend us. As we have added the Westhill and Bridge of Don sites, I took on the role of Area Manager and spend a great deal of love and passion helping support and guide their teams.

I am supportive and proactive at sourcing and engaging the teams with training to upskill our staff team which benefits the children by having the highest quality of staff available to them. All our staff teams are continuously developing their professional development, working towards qualification and enhancing policies and practices in their settings. I myself am working on my PDA award with just a few months left to complete.
It is a pleasure and honour to work with the children and families and to watch the progression and development of each and every child

Hello, my name is Yasmin, I have been working in the Early Years since I left school. I am working on my BA Honours Degree in Childhood Practice at the university after completing all other relevant qualifications. I am really passionate towards the nursery and continue to do all I can to support the staff team and families within Banana Moon Nursery. It is a pleasure and honour to work with the children and families and to watch the progression and development of each and every child.

Hello, my name is Sandra and I started my Childcare career in 2023 here at Banana Moon Westhill, I am SVQ level 3 qualified. I started here as an early years practitioner and stepped up to be a room leader within the 2 - 3's playrooms. From there in 2024 I moved to the full moons room to be the room leader there. Then currently the senior room leader for full moon as well as leading the floor. My favourite part about working in childcare is watching the children grow and develop as they meet and achieve their milestones; they make every day fun.

I work in Teenie Moon's room. I have been working in the childcare sector since 1997. I started my journey with Banana Moon Westhill in 2020. I gained my SVQ Level 3 in Social Services Children and Young People in 2016. I am away to move on to do my SVQ Level 4 in Social Services Children and Young People. I enjoy working in the Teenie Moons and watching the children grow

Hello, I am Bridgit, I started my Banana Moon Journey back in 2022, and I then stepped up to be a room leader in 2023, I currently run our Teenie Moons room and love working in the Teenie Moons.

Hello, my name is Abbey, and I started my Banana Moon Westhill journey in 2025, joining as the Mini Moons Room Leader. I am a qualified practitioner and have worked in childcare for many years prior to this, but I truly love being part of the Banana Moon family. I am also currently studying for my BA Honours Degree in Childhood Practice to further develop my knowledge and skills.

I started in Banana Moon Westhill in 2023, I then became a qualifed practitioner in 2025 and now currently in 2026 got promoted to Full Moons Room Leader. I’m always eager to learn, open to feedback, and committed to improving my practice through ongoing training and reflection.

Hello, my name is Anita, and I love working in early years. I started at Banana Moon Westhill in 2023, and I qualified in 2025. I have three children of my own, and now that they are starting to grow up, I decided to change my career from beauty to childcare—and I’m so thankful I did. Each day is different, and every day brings new opportunities for the children and for us to learn and develop together. It’s quite amazing.

Hello, my name is Rachael, and I left school in 2023 and came straight to Banana Moon Westhill, and I love it. I qualified in 2026 and most enjoy interacting with the children and supporting them as they work towards achieving their next steps in learning.

I work as a Trainee Early Years Practitioner, and it has been a rewarding and valuable learning experience. Over this time, I have gained a deeper understanding of how to support children’s development through play, routine, and positive interactions. I’ve developed strong bonds with the children and built trusting relationships with families and colleagues.

I have been at Banana Moon Westhill since 2023 and qualified as a practitioner in 2025. My daily responsibilities include planning and delivering engaging activities, observing and recording children’s progress, and supporting their individual needs. I build positive relationships with each child and their families, helping to create a strong sense of trust and partnership. I also work as part of a team, sharing ideas, supporting colleagues, and maintaining a caring and inclusive atmosphere.

I take pride in providing high-quality care, promoting children’s independence and confidence, and ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times. I am committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice to ensure I continue to meet the needs of the children in my care.

As the cook, my role is to plan, prepare, and serve nutritious, well-balanced meals and snacks that meet the dietary needs of all children in the setting. I work in line with food safety and hygiene standards, ensuring that the kitchen is clean, organised, and compliant with all relevant health regulations.

My daily tasks include creating menus that follow healthy eating guidelines, accommodating allergies and dietary requirements, ordering and managing stock, and keeping accurate records of food temperatures, cleaning routines, and supplies. I take pride in preparing meals that children enjoy, and I understand the important role food plays in their overall development and wellbeing.

I also work closely with the wider team to make sure mealtimes are smooth, calm, and enjoyable for the children. I’m committed to maintaining high standards, being efficient and organised, and contributing to a warm and caring environment where children feel safe and supported.
