Mill House Day Nursery opened in August 2018. The building from which Mill House Day Nursery operates has been extensively renovated in order to provide a rich and enabling environment for young children.

The nursery is Ofsted registered and it operates in accordance with the current Early Years Foundation Stage with a strong emphasis on partnership with parents.

Children are supported to learn through play and practitioners observe, assess and plan in order to support development. All planning is shared with parents who are invited to contribute to planning in order to ensure that children are supported by effective partnerships.

The nursery employs qualified practitioners and the team is led by an Early Years Teacher who is also a trainer within the early years sector.

All staff hold current Paediatric First Aid Certificates and have undergone current Safeguarding training.

My little boy has been at Mill House for 6 months now and he loves it. He gets so excited to see the managers every morning and comes home thoroughly exhausted from a day of play. A really lovely, family-run nursery with genuine care and love for the children there.

The nursery has an excellent management team who are approachable and always available. They have a fantastic team of staff who are always welcoming, professional and dedicated to each child.
My daughter loves coming to nursery since being moved here and always comes out excited by the things she
has been up to and learnt during the day.
The nursery offers a good variety of foods for the children and will encourage children to try new things.
Every morning and afternoon you will see management at the door to meet parents, there is also always a member of management in the room helping clear up and meet the children's needs.
The nursery is always clean and has a happy environment for all children.

The owners of the nursery have gone to great lengths to create a nurturing yet fun environment for my son to learn and grow. I'm amazed at such a young age how much he has progressed in his education already.
The staff are so good with the children he always has a big smile on his face at the end
of the day so I know he is well looked after.
The food they provide is also varied and balanced. It's great to see the nursery adding features for the kids all the time too!

Outstanding nursery, my son has been attending for 10 months. He has developed with the help of the nursery in a positive way. His speech was below that expected of his age when he started and it has improved remarkably with the assistance of staff. He is very happy at the nursery and knows all the
staff by name. Staff are experienced and teach the children through play with a wide range of toys, activities and facilities.
The nursery has a beautiful, large garden with lots of grass and decking. Outside is great for kids well being, it has sand and water play and including area for climbing and riding. My son climbs on anything and everything for fun. The nursery purchased an indoor climbing frame to suit his personality. The staff go above and beyond to help every individual child's need to help them develop to their best. The fact that he is still there speaks volumes. I am sure he will be there until he attends school. My other son enjoys going with me for the pickup. Highly recommended.

Our daughter (16 months) is so happy at this nursery and I love that she gets excited as we pull up outside! At first, I was anxious to send my first child to a nursery at 12 months, but after 2 days of my daughter attending, she was calm and happy to be there. All staff are excellent, professional
and so kind to all children and parents. I am so happy I chose Mill House Day Nursery and would highly recommend it. Thank you!

This is an excellent nursery. Since my daughter moved in here, her speech, her behaviour, overall her skills have improved on a large scale. She is very happy and content. Very well looked after. I do not have much to point down on this nursery but like everywhere there is always room for improvement.
I would just recommend to them to be more attentive to runny and dirty noses.

Mill House Day Nursery, has an outstanding team that is very friendly, warming and dedicated.
My daughter is 2, she loves going to the nursery and gets to do many things such as cooking, painting etc.


I find the location of the nursery is perfect as it’s away from the main road also for dropping

off and commuting to the city. The building and layout of the nursery is great with a great outdoor space.
I have seen most of the nurseries within the area and feel that Mill House is the best of them all.

Very very lovely nursery. It's had such a positive impact on my son he loves it there. As well as the staff who are approachable and friendly, they have helped my son grow and learn so far so good.

This is a fantastic nursery with wonderful staff providing a safe, inclusive and happy environment for the children in their care. I visited the nursery before it was even opened. I was so excited about the setting and the owner's vision for the nursery that I brought forward my son's start date by
4 months! The outside space is excellent and the rooms are clean, spacious, well thought out and interesting for the children. My son settled in very well indeed and nothing has been too much trouble. He literally jumps for joy when he wakes up on nursery days and doesn't want to leave. We have felt very comfortable leaving our son here and feel certain that the staff will continue to look after his welfare and education to a very high standard.

The amazing staff at this nursery went over and above and beyond to support my very clingy and anxious son to settle. They really worked with me and my husband to ensure that the transition to nursery was as smooth as possible. The food at the setting is all made fresh daily and there is always a wealth

My daughter joined Mill House Day Nursery in October and had never been to nursery before. I was apprehensive at first as this was my first time leaving her but I needn't have worried as she has settled very quickly. The staff are very friendly and the manager has gone out of her way to make my daughter
feel settled and welcome.
The nursery is clean and well equipped and has a large garden for the children to play.
I would definitely recommend this nursery to others.

Choosing this nursery for my son was the best thing I could have done! From the first visit, I was immediately impressed. Rooms are spacious, facilities are great, a huge outdoor space (particular attention to the sand pit which my little one loves), a never-ending selection of toys and it is extremely
clean and tidy. Given how important all these aspects are, the most important to me was the staff and how my little one would settle with them. In regards to this, I could not be happier - they are incredible! From day one my little one has enjoyed staying at the nursery, saying his key worker's name within a week of attending - this has to mean something good when they do this at 21 months.
It's great to be welcomed with a smile from everyone that works at the nursery, nothing is ever a problem and they genuinely care for the little ones. My son's development in the past three months has been immense, this genuinely reassures us he is learning a lot and is well looked after.

We visited Mill House at the advice of a friend and had a discussion with the manager, who happily answered all our questions. We were impressed by the location and cleanliness (a very important aspect for us).
There is lots of outdoor space for children to do various daily activities, large garden
with slide, playhouse, sand and plenty of room to run free or ride a bike.
All staff are very dedicated and take good care of the children. They provide us with daily updates regarding her meals and activities.
Our daughter started for the first time in a nursery setting and they went above and beyond to make the transition as smooth as possible. 3 weeks after starting, our daughter enjoys her time spent there so much, that she would like to go and have fun with them 7 days a week. This is a true example of their professionalism.
We would highly recommend Mill House Day Nursery to any parent looking to keep their children happy and safe in education.

Deborah holds a BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Studies and she is qualified as an Early Years Teacher. She has over 25 years experience in the field of early years education as a practitioner and as a manager.


Deborah teaches childcare qualifications to level 2, 3 and 4 students within the early years sector, including management training.


Deborah is the Designated Safeguarding Officer (DSO) and Physical Activity and Nutrition Coordinator (PANCo) for Mill House Day Nursery.

Lianne Lewis

Job Title: Assessor and Training & Development Manager Joined: 2018

Lianne has a Foundation Degree in Early Childhood Studies and she is a qualified assessor who manages team and individual development. Lianne's prime responsibilities are the supervision of practitioners to ensure the ongoing development of high quality practice. Lianne has a wide experience of working in the early years sector, including experience as a childminder, a pre-school practitioner and a nursery practitioner. Lianne achieved an outstanding Ofsted grade for her own childminding business and she brings these high quality expectations to Mill House.

Natalie Ahern

Natalie has a wide and varied experience of working with children in their early years, she has worked in nursery settings and schools and she has also worked as a Nanny which has enabled her to develop an understanding of the diverse needs of families. Natalie is a Level 3 qualified practitioner who has recently embarked on her Level 4 Early Years Advanced Practitioner training. Natalie has a passion for supporting children to learn and develop and she can effectively support children of all ages from infancy through to those in their teenage years.
