Little Green Rascals Bishopthorpe is an original and beautiful setting, perfect for exploration and learning.

Offering a home-from-home environment, the nursery works hard to offer all things natural, locally sourced and organic wherever possible. All resources are made from natural and sustainable materials, plus components such as electricity is sourced from an ethical supplier. The nursery offers exceptional care, enriched by unique learning opportunities for your child. One such experience is child-friendly cooking classes, helping to equip children with valuable skills and deeper knowledge of the cooking process.

The team ensure to deliver inspiring and educational activities which help to nurture a child’s confidence, communication and relationships.

The nursery is based inside a stunning, old school building, with some of the features still intact. Inside the nursery, there are four rooms, which have had some of their original features lovingly restored and transformed by “bringing the outside in” style.

Outside the nursery, there is a bespoke hobbit hill, swings, a climbing frame and a large selection of sports equipment. Each room has open access to the outdoor spaces and children enjoy riding bicycles and scooters, playing in the mud kitchens and jumping in the deepest of puddles, no matter the weather!

The nursery also has an Out of School Club and Holiday Club, which is hosted in Bishopthorpe Infants School.

LGR is a really kind, safe and happy environment. We always feel comfortable dropping our daughters off, and the staff are so loving and caring. It is clear they take a lot of care in the children's development. We wouldn't consider anywhere else.

Our son has recently started at LGR in Bishopthorpe in the Wiggly Worms room. We are so pleased with choosing this nursery and are thrilled with how settled he is. The staff are all amazing, and Stella, our son's key worker, has been brilliant in helping our son settle - he has a lovely bond with her.
We cannot recommend the nursery highly enough and would recommend to anyone looking.

Our son started nursery in the wiggly worms at the start of the year and has absolutely loved his time at LGR. He made some loving bonds with staff and he is always happy to see everyone. Having now graduated to Dancing Dragonflies he is forming similar bonds and showing really good development and

Our little boy has been in dragonflies for nearly a year now and has developed extremely well during his time. He loves coming to nursery and playing with his friends. I am very happy with the overall nursery experience. My daughter has grown in confidence with the excellent support and leadership of the team. At times she was upset at going to nursery but we reassured her that there would always be a welcoming smile and hug for her with lots of fun learning activities
to enjoy and where The can begin to make friendships with other children. The teachers. and key person have always been very approachable and accessible with the needs of my daughter always in their minds. The learning environment together with the food preferences (vegan) have been excellent and my daughter has enjoyed both indoor and outdoor play and learning
