I can’t praise the staff enough for how kind, supportive and nurturing each and every one of them have been to both our daughter and ourselves since we joined in 2019!
Choosing a nursery is a daunting experience for any parent but Step Start made this choice so much easier!
I am so pleased I came for a show around. My son loves it. Sometimes I think he doesn’t want to come home. The team are amazing and I wouldn’t want him to go anywhere else. I love the app and seeing how he’s getting on, what he has for meals and if he has more (most the time.) Thank you.
My daughter goes to Step Start and she has progressed massively since starting. She has made lots of friends and has come on in leaps and bounds. The staff are very friendly and the communication is fantastic.
It's an absolute pleasure for me to send my daughter to Step Start as the staff go above and beyond to provide a nurturing environment. My daughter is thriving in terms of development and truly loves going to nursery every day. She suffered a knock to her confidence during covid lockdown and since being back, her key workers have brought her back out of her shell. I really couldn't be more grateful to the whole team and am looking forward to my youngest starting next summer.
Love this nursery. Amazing, kind, caring, fun staff. My son loves it here and runs in every day. He has come on in leaps and bounds and I feel very happy he goes to Step Start and would highly recommend it to others. They have a fun filled day, listen to the parents and provide excellent food and have great updates on their app.
Step Start is a fantastic environment for a child. My son thoroughly enjoys his time at nursery and is blossoming there. The facilities are very good, with an outdoor space and plenty of indoor activities. The staff are wonderful and caring and always have time for the parents' questions etc. Overall, Step Start is a fantastic nursery and I would recommend it to any parent.
Absolutely fabulous. We highly recommend Step Start and frequently do. We moved to the area temporarily whilst renovating our family home in North London. Step Start was recommended to us by a friend and our 10-month-old son started at the beginning of March. He was able to settle in at his own pace and quickly grew attached to so many of the lovely staff there who all knew his name. The team at Step Start are phenomenal. They saw every sleep cue, recognised he was a good eater from the start and gave him every stimulus. (All updated on the app). But more than this, he was genuinely cared for, appreciated and loved. After seven months, our house was ready to move back into and we were torn as we knew we'd found something special in Step Start. Our son had grown from a 10-month-old baby to a walking, talking happy toddler - developing in leaps and bounds no doubt in huge part due to the dedication of the ladies at Step Start. The most wonderful environment for a child.
The nursery value parent feedback and have arranged parents evenings to discuss a range of issues. They have been incredible during Covid - keeping us informed and providing age-appropriate activities for the kids whilst at home via the app and through booklets.

Step Start is absolutely fantastic. Our daughter loves it there. The staff are brilliant and arrange a wide variety of activities. Our daughter is learning so much. There is also a varied and balanced menu.

Every single member of the team is incredible and you can tell they genuinely care for the children and their wellbeing.
Most importantly my daughter absolutely adores it there. She has made so many friends and has come on leaps and bounds in her development and confidence thanks to the tireless work of those around her.
The nursery has also undergone some amazing work over the past two years, and it’s great to see such investment take place to make the nursery a better environment for the children, both inside and outside.
To sum up, I can’t recommend Step Start highly enough, they’re amazing at what they do and what they achieve!

It’s good value for money however it is frustrating you have to pay for Bank Holidays when the nursery isn’t even open.
This really is the only negative comment I have to mention. It doesn’t stop us wanting to use the nursery in future and our daughter is benefiting from the experience. If our family grows, we’d like our other children to attend also!
I love the app, and it’s great to see how at ease my sister feels knowing she can keep up to date with his daily activities and what food he’s eaten.
The nursery itself has a brilliant security system and inside has a really homely feel.

Having tried a few nurseries I was so impressed with Step Start. My child really improved with his speech and his key worker was so patient and encouraging. All the staff are so lovely, the manager is just brilliant. The food menu is impressive too, I really felt little one was being nurtured well. The rooms are so educational, homely and fun with so much to keep them busy. By far the best nursery in the area.
My daughter joined Step Start at 11 months old! I cannot recommend this nursery enough, home-like environment, staff so friendly. My daughter absolutely loves nursery and that is down to the amazing staff. The app is fantastic and allows you to keep up to date with your child’s daily activities.
I feel my grandson is in really good hands at Step Start. The staff are really friendly but more importantly kind and considerate towards me and my grandson. I have noticed my grandson’s emotional and social development has vastly improved since he has joined Step Start.
Knowing your child who is the most important thing in the world to you and having to hand them over to strangers and trust them, for me, was really hard but the ladies there are really understanding and are so comforting. I have seen with my own eyes how the children react to the staff and it really is wonderful. That’s who you want looking after your children.
Knowing that my little boy has the best time there makes me so happy.
The app is brilliant giving you a breakdown to how the child’s day has been, when they have slept, what they have eaten in the day time and better still, pics and videos of them enjoying themselves.

A warm and welcoming nursery where my son has thrived. I would highly recommend Step Start. The staff are wonderful, taking a genuinely caring approach and always preparing a wide range of activities for the children. The family app used is a great tool to keep up to date with what is going on in the day as well as communicate with the staff easily. I feel like the staff are continually looking at ways to improve things, despite them already doing a fantastic job!

I’m passionate about creating a warm, welcoming environment where both children and families feel supported from day one. I’ve been part of Step Start for several years and love leading a team that shares the same commitment to care, education, and exploration. Every day is a chance to make a difference, whether it’s supporting our little ones as they grow in confidence or working closely with our team to bring the very best out of each child. I’m all about consistency, quality, and making sure our Step Start values shine through in everything we do.
I’m Level 3 qualified and have been working in childcare for 8 years. It’s a career I’m truly passionate about - there’s nothing more rewarding than seeing children thrive through the support and care we provide every single day. Step Start is such a special place, where every team member is dedicated to creating a warm, friendly environment that helps children feel safe, happy, and ready to learn. I love adapting activities to meet each child’s individual needs, helping them access learning in their own unique way.
I completed my Level 3 in 2018 and have been with Step Start ever since! I always knew I wanted to work with children, and from my very first experiences, I realised how much I enjoyed supporting their early development. What I love most is helping to create a positive first experience of nursery, for both children and their families. Every child is unique, and I’m passionate about making sure they feel happy, confident, and ready to explore. I’m always on the go and love being busy, it’s just part of who I am!
I’m a Level 3 qualified practitioner with a real passion for helping children grow and thrive. I’ve worked with little ones for years and also volunteer as a Beaver Scout Leader, so creating fun, nurturing environments is second nature! I love being part of the amazing team at Step Start; it’s a place full of support, smiles and shared wins. I’m all about messy play, sensory fun, and outdoor adventures, especially when we’re digging in the garden or exploring nature.
I have been working in childcare for many years and am Level 3 qualified. I love working with children and watching them grow and develop every day, it’s so rewarding to be part of their journey. The staff are lovely, welcoming and always supportive, and it’s a pleasure to see the children each day. I am passionate about helping children develop their skills and enjoy all areas of play. I’m also a bubbly person who loves to talk!
I’m a Level 3 qualified practitioner and have been working in nurseries for nearly 5 years. I’ve always been drawn to supporting children’s development - it all started with volunteering at my old primary school. At Step Start, I love how happy and settled the children are, and the welcoming, home-from-home feel makes it such a special place to be. I have a real passion for supporting communication and language, especially through early phonics, and I’m always bringing in a creative twist with art, painting, and a little bit of dancing too!
I started as an apprentice at Step Start, completed my Level 3, and now lead the Big Steps room. I’ve also trained as a Level 3 SENCo, and supporting children with SEND is a real passion of mine. I love helping every child thrive and become the best version of themselves, and there’s nothing better than seeing the pride on their faces when they achieve something new!
