Owl & Bear Daycare - Walderslade Nursery

Great nursery. My son has grown leaps and bounds since being here. Would recommend to anyone. I have recently just started my youngest son and they have been really great at settling him in. Lovely people too.

My daughter has been attending Owl & Bear since the beginning of January. The nursery were amazing at working with me and supporting me with being able to take her on at such short notice and taking into account my personal situation as my previous childcare had stopped unexpectedly. The team there are amazing and extremely friendly. My daughter has had a great time since she started there and I am very impressed and grateful for the regular updates they give me on her day. I highly recommend them to any and every one!

Both my children have had great experiences with this nursery; they love the staff and always come home happy. They love the garden and the animals and have learnt so much with the help of the nursery, and they have massively helped my son with his speech. I would highly recommend Owl & Bear.

My previous review was a glowing 5 stars. My daughter started at, what was then Monkey Puzzle in August 2018 and the staff and setting were amazing.

I don't want to say too much for fear of breaching the review policy on here, but suffice to say that the nursery is not what it once was. To the point that we are removing my daughter to a new setting.

My concerns were raised with the nursery on a few occasions and actually saw some improvements made, but there is so much more that I feel could be done.

Also, the staff listed on this site are no longer present at Owl and Bear, as turnover in that area is one of the highest I have ever seen in my 25-year career.

The staff and management have been absolutely fantastic, extremely helpful, especially over lockdown, and with my daughter who has speech and language delays. I can't thank them enough!

Would highly recommend this lovely nursery.

My first child went to the nursery, and now with our little one, we are so happy to have a place at this nursery.

The owner is always there, which is really nice to see. The staff are all lovely, and the nursery team are amazing. Thank you for looking after our children and caring for them as if they are your own. It makes going to work easier and gives us peace of mind.

This nursery has significantly improved following feedback from my wife and myself regarding the amount of information we wanted regarding our daughter’s day.

She has loved her time here and will miss it when she goes to school.

My sister has attended the nursery since it opened and I have collected her with my grandmother when my mother is working. I love the garden!

Brilliant staff. Always made to feel welcome and valued. Would have loved to have sent my own children here back in their day. Children always look to be enjoying the activities provided. Well done everyone. After completing the last section of the review I had to return to this and add that I would have liked to have put super and fantastic in some of the boxes not just excellent.

My niece goes to this nursery and I regularly collect her with mum. She has a great time and I would highly recommend this nursery.

My child attends this nursery and when I go to collect her, the staff are all very lovely and friendly. This sets an extremely good environment for me to leave my daughter in their care. Recently had a parents evening and was amazed by how many activities they are taken out with my daughter. It was lovely to see pictures of her enjoying herself throughout the weeks.

My daughter loves her time at nursery school. She is always happy to go and loves the different things she does here. Staff are lovely. They tell me what she’s done in her day.

Little man settled really well and is always happy to go - all the staff are welcoming and his day seems full of fun things. We've noticed his speech has come on lots - we get told about his day, food etc. on collection. 2 very happy parents. Recommended *****

All the staff are very approachable and warm. The building itself is very welcoming and child friendly.

The staff are generally good at communicating with us as parents, and I feel I have a good understanding and knowledge of the activities my son get up to on a daily basis.

In terms of improvements to be made, I would love to see the nursery use an online tool to upload work and info too so that my partner and I can log onto view. I know many nurseries use this nowadays, but this one seems to be a bit behind on the use of technology. It could help improve the involvement of parents and help parent engagement and communication.

My daughter has been up and down at nursery but the staff are always honest about how she is. We placed her in nursery to help with socialising with other children and she has made many friends. I find the staff very helpful and happy to sit and discuss any concerns you may have. The nursery overall is bright and has many different areas for children to play. My daughter loves painting and especially song time.

My daughter started 6 months ago and I couldn’t be happier. She has settled in very well and is happy to go to nursery each day. We have the staff to thank for this. Very friendly and supportive. My daughter has built a very good relationship with her key person and one or two other members of staff in particular and trusts and finds comfort with them. This is something that I value greatly as a parent and in turn find comfort with.

My son is now 18 months old and has been attending this nursery for six months. He loves it and has developed so many skills during this time. I am so pleased I decided on this nursery for him and look forward to seeing what he learns in the future thanks to the wonderful staff there.
