Jemima House Day Nursery

My daughter has been attending Jemima House for four months now. Having only previously attended a preschool for one day per week from 9 am - 3 pm, I was concerned that the day at nursery would feel particularly long for her, however, she is kept stimulated by the interesting range of activities offered throughout the day and the care and attention of staff, especially her key worker. My daughter is always happy and chatty at pick up time and I receive a detailed summary of her day from staff, which is lovely to hear. We have started receiving a fantastic weekly newsletter. The nursery held some special family events over the Christmas period. The children spend plenty of time outdoors which is brilliant. The safety of the children is a key priority. Thank you to the dedicated team for caring and nurturing my daughter.

The team are always so attentive and have the children's best interests at heart. I was nervous about my daughter going to nursery, but they quickly put my mind at ease.

There is nothing I could complain about. The staff is wonderful and caring, the setting is clean and organised, the food is good and most importantly, the children are happy.

My child attended this preschool for roughly a year, during this time there were a number of staff changes. Our child was assigned a key worker who on the collection and drop off, clearly didn’t want to interact with me and would leave it for other colleagues to do, which didn’t give a great impression as we were new to the preschool. I raised concern due to the lack of developmental updates I had received for my child, I understand there should be on average 2/3 per week (My relative manages a preschool) I received updates monthly, the observations were not true to my child’s ability “downgrading”. Shortly after this, my child received a negative observation. When discussing the incident with my child asking what happened I was informed of another child’s name this raised more concerns to me as the timing was very convenient. My child would say to me they didn’t want to go to preschool every day that he/she attended. Having the open-plan rooms meant that is was noisy and chaotic.

My son has been going to Jemima House Day Nursery for three months. He only attends one day a week and has been going since he was 11 months old. The first few weeks he took a bit of time to settle but the nursery girls have all been amazing with him and worked hard to help him settle. Every day they give you detailed feedback of their day and are so efficient at getting back to any queries you have. Every member of staff remembers every child’s name and always greet us at the start of the day - very welcoming. Their care is exceptional and I never worry about my son whilst he is in their care. Very happy with them - would definitely recommend.

All the staff are friendly and lovely, my son loves going and facilities are very good. Also, they mix with all different ages which is great!

I have many years of working in an early years setting and I can identify the excellent practice that is happening in this Nursery and in my opinion this Nursery is outstanding in everything that they do. Big 10 out of 10 for this Nursery

I called early to pick up my grandchild and was stunned by the behaviour of the class: the carers had total control, total respect from the class, which had obviously been earnt by engaging with them, not disciplining them. If only all day care nurseries were like this!!

My child has additional needs. They meet above and beyond each need. Within a few months of my child joining, her development improved dramatically. They use Makaton for her and involve all the children in the setting so she can communicate with her friends.

Since my daughter joined this nursery she has come on leaps and bounds, the manager and the team are completely committed to ensuring that not only the environment is safe but also enjoyable. The manager and her team clearly are passionate about what they do and you can see this from the moment you step into the nursery my daughter absolutely loves going and sometimes doesn't even want to come home because she enjoys it so much.

My daughter has developmental delays and at her previous nursery, she wasn't supported particularly well whereas when she started at Jemima House she has been supported from day one with the manager and her team taking a clear interest in her development and even adapting their and the whole nursery's approach to support.

I couldn't thank the nursery enough for their support over the past year and would without a doubt recommend this nursery to anyone.

Lovely new open plan nursery in a new area which is well managed. The staff seem to enjoy their job and this is reflected by the way the children seem very happy to go off and spend their day there.

Couldn't recommend this nursery enough! Staff are lovely, the venue clean, spacious and well laid out and the thought and effort that goes into planning doesn't go unnoticed. Communication is great and as a parent to a full-time attendee, I am constantly amazed at hearing everything that's gone on throughout the day. My little one has flourished, settled in immediately and thoroughly enjoying himself!

Our little girl started here in January and has been attending for 6 weeks. She moved from her previous nursery due to a house move. We are so pleased with how quickly she has settled and how happy she is each morning going to the nursery. The staff are brilliant and the manager is always very present and helpful. We get a thorough handover each day and informed of her learning through the Parent zone app which is great. We also get weekly emails about the planning and communication is always good.

My son has settled very well into Jemima House, following a sudden move from his previous nursery. The staff are friendly, caring and very genuine. I feel his educational and emotional needs are met and love the number of crafts and creative activities he does.

When we had to move our little boy from his nursery at short notice, the staff at Jemima House Day Nursery did an exceptional job not only putting our minds at ease but also settling our toddler in with them. We couldn't be happier with Jemima House Day Nursery, our little boy loves it. The facilities are excellent and the staff are kind, caring and the staff are kind, caring and attentive. We have been very impressed with the menu, the activities offered and love all the network that comes home. We would not hesitate to recommend Jemima House Day Nursery.

Our daughter has advanced so much in a short space of time, she's confident, happy and is developing so many social skills. She's kept busy, enjoys a variety of different activities and loves the staff there.

Very clean and well-run nursery, lots of brand new learning equipment and all open plan environment so staff can see the children at all times and help each other quickly when needed.

The staff are very friendly and my daughter is really happy here, every day I collect her I receive a written report on what she has eaten and drank and a list of all the activities she has been involved in.

It is also a quick hand over and picks up the process, all really organised. Overall a modern, friendly well organised nursery.

The staff are so friendly and welcoming to my grandson. They always have a smile on their faces and each child is like their own. Would highly recommend as the Manager clearly appoints the best staff.

My daughter has settled very well at nursery, the range of activities is fantastic and she is always very animated about her day. Communication has been fabulous, the staff always have time for a chat at the beginning of the day and let us know what she has been up to at the end of the day.We get a regular newsletter which is helpful. I like how they go into the school hall for lunch. The facilities overall are amazing we are lucky to have this on our doorstep.

My daughter has been going to the nursery since April 2017 - with this being my first child, I was very apprehensive returning to work and leaving my daughter at nursery. All the team at Jemima House have been wonderful, I feel my daughter is very well looked after when in their care. My daughter has settled in very well and I can see that attending the nursery has supported her development.
