I was very nervous about my son starting nursery as he's only ever been with me but after the first week of him attending I had no doubt he would be fine and he comes out smiling every time. Friendly, welcoming and all-round great nursery.

I was extremely nervous about leaving my 14-month-old baby. I have never left him alone with anyone except his daddy and even this was only on 3 occasions. So this was a massive deal for me - as I imagine it is for most mummies. I feel completely confident leaving my baby in the care of the staff at
Spring Nursery Cedars. He is now not crying when I leave him, in fact, the last time I dropped him off he walked in and did a dance. His confidence has grown as has his mobility and speech. I see pictures of him playing with other babies and getting cuddles from the staff. On a daily basis I get information on what he has eaten when he has slept and had his nappy changes - this keeps me going when I'm at work - I love knowing what he is doing. The food at the nursey is all homemade and healthy. When my partner pics our baby up he always get a wee overview of what he has done on that day. I feel the staff care about my baby and I feel happy and confident leaving him in their care.

My daughter goes to the nursery and loves it all the staff are so friendly and always willing to help. The staff have helped bring my daughter out of her shell.
The garden is amazing!
I also like the app that the nursery has, as I can check it when my daughter is there. It's just an amazing place!
I
also like the way they do proper meals at lunchtime, how you can ask for the recipe and that some of them get put on the app. My little one used to just pick at food, but since being at the nursery and being able to get the recipes she likes she is eating full meals again.

My son attends this setting and has attended since he was 11-months-old, he is now 3. He is always happy when he is at Cedars and has achieved so much since attending. The girls go above and beyond to accommodate my son and his needs they are always patient and willing to help each and every child.
My son loves the outdoors environment where he can explore the slides, play in the huge sandpit and get messy in the mud kitchen, Cedars gives children experiences within the setting that not all children get when in other environments or given the opportunity.
My son is taken out on trips to local parks and even bus rides to town or library and other surrounding areas of Exeter which he finds great. Overall, I would hugely recommend this nursery for its homely, friendly feel and the high standard of care given.

A great nursery that my son has attended for many years following his big sister.
There is so much to see and do with a fantastic garden full of fun things to occupy busy little people and burn off that energy.
Great home-made food to fill little tums.
Very friendly girls/key-workers who always keep
you up to date with what’s happening in and around the nursery/preschool.

My son goes here and needs additional needs as he’s autistic. He has a one to one here and the staff are very friendly and knowledgable and go above and beyond for him. He has come on so much since being here making it possible for him to have a normal childhood while helping him progress daily and
catering to all his needs. They are also a very flexible and amazing team.

We are so lucky to have found Cedars for our 1-year-old son. He has been attending since he was 7 months old and has now settled in so well and that he leaves me smiling in the mornings. He also seems to love his nutritious meals! The space and facilities are lovely - and there is gorgeous outdoor space.
We don't have family close by to help out while we're working and it has been amazing to find somewhere close by where he seems cared for and contented. The staff have all been wonderful. He also gets to do lots of activities that we wouldn't be able to do at home. Wholeheartedly recommend.

Spring Nursery Cedars provides a caring, supportive environment for babies and young children. I have been very impressed with the high level of care my child has received from all the nursery staff, and he very much enjoys the time he spends there. The healthy and varied meal planning is also a really
positive element.

Cedars is an amazing nursery.
Both my children have attended Cedars nursery and my youngest child of 2years still attends Cedars nursery and my eldest child attends pre-school but also attended Cedars until he was 3years old.
The nursery has excellent facilities for early years with a fantastic
outdoor garden and indoor space baby room and toddler room and the staff have been amazing with both my children’s development.
They do a wide range of activities throughout the day, ranging from painting to singing, reading, sensory activities, learning numbers and alphabet, they go on trips out and about the nursery.
Have wonderful food provided on-site and made fresh by the chef every day.
Regular snack and drinks and two-course lunch and tea.
Both my children have thrived at Cedars from the dedicated staff that spend time one on one with their key children and also as a team, helping my boys to be well educated before school life.
I couldn’t speak more highly of the whole team.
My boys love Cedars.

Cedars is a great nursery, I put my daughter in at 12 months old and she's still there now at 2 and half years old, she loves the nursery and loves all the staff. I put my daughter in nursery because she wouldn't create bonds with anyone, not friends and not even some family. So when my daughter started
here, I was concerned, but it was the best thing I could have done and I'm so glad I chose Cedars, as she bonded with the staff very well. My daughter is always excited to go to nursery. She has come on loads with her vocabulary and learning in all aspects. Not only are they great with the children, but they also support parents with any problems and give advice when needed. I would recommend this nursery a million per cent.

I am really happy with how well the nursery has improved over the last year; I feel like recent staff changes have been very positive and the staff have brought in welcomed experience. Communication between staff and management is excellent.

My son is always super happy to go to nursery and I feel

that he has bonded well with his key workers (and others). The reporting on his activities during the day is really good now and I have noticed a real improvement in the structure of the learning and play activities over the last year.

Finally, I think that the outside garden area is fantastic and I am really happy to see the children spending lots of time playing outside and doing activities such as gardening.

Current Review Score: 8.8 (8.810)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.8 (8.810) out of 10 for Spring Nursery Cedars is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 4 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.8 out of 5 from 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 5.000 for Spring Nursery Cedars is calculated as follows: ( (48 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 48 Ratings = 5
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.81 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Spring Nursery Cedars is based on 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.375
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 46 number of registered child places is 9.2. 4 Positive Reviews ÷ 9.2 = 0.435
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
