Our boy has been attending Almond House for just over six months now, and he absolutely loves it.
The staff are friendly and kind; they give regular updates through the app and are more than happy to chat more in detail about what he’s been up to that day at drop off and pick up. I really feel that
they care about him, which is lovely. We’ve always struggled to get our son to nap, which was a concern for us, but they manage where we fail. He rarely naps at home now but still usually naps at nursery!
The food is top-notch and varied too, which is wonderful, as we try to eat well at home, so it’s nice that he’s getting nutritious, homemade food at nursery too. I was lucky enough to sample some of the food at an open day in the spring and was really impressed.
Since starting at Almond House, our relatives and friends have also noticed that our son is much more sociable too, happier to go to them, and much more confident.

Both my children go to Almond House. My little boy was under two when he started, and he is four this year. They have been fantastic with him and us as parents and very supportive. They've adapted to my son to make his time there comfortable and enjoyable. (My son is SEN) I couldn't have received more
support and guidance, and I continue to do so. My little girl, who has also just turned two, also goes to this nursery now, and we've already noticed a difference in her speech and social interactions. They both love going to the nursery, and the staff are very professional, knowledgeable and supportive. Thanks, Almond House.

My eldest son was born in 2020 and started at Almond House in 2021. We chose to send him to nursery because, as a lockdown baby, he had no outside interactions with other children for the first year of his life. In the two years he has been there, he has gained so much confidence and has helped massively
with his social skills. He loves the staff who work there and always comes home a happy little boy!

A wonderful nursery! Our daughter is in her last few weeks now before she starts school and has had a great few years here. All the staff are super helpful and friendly and have given a great start to our daughter's education and social skills. I 100% recommend.

My little boy is the fantastic, clever and curious child he is because of the staff at Almond House. They offer him the best experience possible, and I couldn't recommend them enough. I love seeing the daily pictures and am jealous of the fabulous food he eats there. He is happy there, and as a Mum,
that makes me feel happy and reassured I made the best choice in sending him to Almond House.

My two daughters love Almond House and all the staff (especially two members of staff) they are so excited to go and have formed amazing friendships.
The chef makes fabulous fresh food daily and even has time to occasionally spoil the parents with yummy cakes too!

My little girl goes to Almond House and absolutely loves it. She is thriving there and has come on leaps and bounds in her development, always able to tell me about her day. Great relationship with the staff and the beautiful food she eats at the nursery.
It’s a big thing to choose a nursery for your
little one to go to, to be in someone else’s care, but I couldn’t have chosen better.
Regular updates on how she is getting on in the room and observations and photos are regularly sent.

100% recommend! My little boy's face lights up when I ask him if he’s going to nursery today and he’s always full of smiles and happy to go to the staff members. They are really lovely with him and he seems to share a bond with a good amount of the staff here.

My little boy has been at Almond House Nursery for just over a year now and he has developed so much with his development, learning and speech and this has been supported by his time at the nursery. He has built great relationships with all of the staff who work there and happily walks into nursery
each morning, happy to be there and never has any issues. Thank you for looking after my little boy.

My child has been at this nursery for a few months now, and I’ve absolutely loved it! I appreciate the regular updates and photos of my child’s day using the Famly app (including how much of their meal they ate, times of nappy changes and if it was wet or dirty, how long and when they had a nap etc.)
and my child seems happy and comfortable with the staff. One of the highlights of the nursery is their chef. Every week he creates a diverse and nutritious menu for the children. Some of my favourite meals include: kid friendly sushi, stir fry with noodles, tofu nuggets, many different pasta dishes and lots more!
My kid has come back from nursery with newly learned songs and even a new baby sign for water!
If I had to say one negative (and that’s a hard task) I’d say it’s unfortunate that they don’t do term time places for children who don’t get free childcare hours. As a parent who studies, I’d love the option to have my kid at home for half term.

My daughter has been attending Pre school at Almond House Nursery since February. She has settled in really quickly thanks to the amazing caring, fun and professional staff. Her education is a priority and she is exposed to lots of different experiences and opportunities too. I would highly recommend

My baby and toddler both attend Almond House and I can’t recommend it highly enough. All the staff are very professional and committed to helping each child’s personal development. The daily updates and photos via the app are fantastic. Especially for parents who are unsure about leaving their babies
for the first time.

My daughter has been coming here for a year now and her communication skills and emotional development have improved greatly. The staff are really knowledgeable and go above and beyond for the children, always coming up with new creative ideas to help the children learn. I feel very safe sending my
daughter here. It is very clean and there are a great deal of learning tools and toys for the children to interact with.

Originally put this nursery on our shortlist due to location the fact their sister nursery was Ofsted outstanding. This was the first nursery we visited and as soon as we walked through the door we felt it was right, my partner was a nursery nurse so is ultra sceptical so Almond House had to hit high
standards to satisfy her. They have definitely met those standards and we have been more than happy with my child's progress and happiness. Due to go to school this year and I know he will miss this place and that’s a credit to the staff. And the chef, wow, if only I could get my son to eat like that at home, all in all a Great setting with great staff

The team at Almond House are simply outstanding, their commitment and dedication to enhancing our children’s learning and experiences have been fantastic. Nothing is too much for the team, they are always more than happy to help or give advice. One thing I particularly like is the use of technology,
we get regular updates throughout the day via the app giving information on activities, sleep, eating, learning and of course the fun they’ve been having. They also take lots of pictures throughout the day so you can see all the fun the children had, which is great for tea time chats with the children about their day. We have since moved out of the area and continue to drive the extra distance due to how good this nursery is.

My son has only been attending Almond House for 6 months and we’ve nothing but positive things to say! From day one the girls were so welcoming and he settled in really quick adapting to their routine. He has made so much progress, he’s much more confident playing in larger groups and with the delicious
healthy meals provided at nursery, he‘s gained confidence to try new foods. The communication between the nursery and parents is amazing and they’re always trying to find new ways for families to interact. I’m updated during the day via an app of what he’s doing and also receive pictures at the end of the day, which leaves me feeling very comfortable seeing how happy and settled he is. We also reserve a monthly observation of his progress. They do lots of different activities and messy play each day which my boy loves!

Almond House deserves its OFSTED Outstanding rating.
My twins have been attending since 2018 and we have only positive things to say about the staff, the location and activities and the regular, helpful updates on their development.
The weekly menu is always diverse and freshly made.
The management

My daughter has been going since 2017 and she absolutely loves it. The team are fantastic They are welcoming and are always there to help. They also keep you updated, this can include the meals for the week, any projects they are doing. They have been given ‘outstanding’ from Ofsted which says it all.
I cannot think of a better place to send my children. I can’t thank them enough for all their help and support - The nursery isn’t local to me but it’s the best by far.

Almond House staff are friendly and welcoming! My little boy has been attending for 18 months and from the first visit they have made him feel settled and happy. He has come on leap and bounds since starting nursery and is now a very confident little boy. The menu created by the chef every week is varied
and sounds delicious - even though he can be fussy at home he always finishes every meal at nursery. I have just signed up my second baby to Almond House even though we have moved further away because I feel so comfortable knowing they will take great care of him.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.791)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.791) out of 10 for Almond House Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 16 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 16 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.891 for Almond House Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (174 Excellents x 5) + (15 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 192 Ratings = 4.891
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.9 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Almond House Nursery is based on 16 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 50 number of registered child places is 10, which has been reached with 16 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
