Casa Dei Bambini School and Nido Montessori Nursery are AMI-accredited authentic Montessori settings based in Hampstead that accept children from 10 months to 6 years of age.

The school is committed to each child as an individual and follows their own needs and learning journeys. All the children are free to learn at their own pace. A small class size supports the growth of solid friendships, and a mixed-aged group allows the older children to cement their learning and gain confidence when teaching younger friends. Strong role models are imperative to education, and children blossom by following those they respect and can learn from. The owner is the Head Teacher in school daily and knows each child individually.

There's an emphasis on parent education, and once a month you are invited into the classrooms to learn about the Montessori method and how they can apply it in the home environment.

There's access to a sunny, secure garden and in good weather, the doors are left open and the children have full access to the garden. The children visit a local park and playground twice a week and have access to music, dance and ballet lessons.

The school aims to ensure that all children leave as happy, rounded individuals who love learning and are fully prepared for the next stage in their young life.

I absolutely adore this nursery and couldn’t have asked for a better place to look after and teach my son who is now 3. He has been here since he was 2 and he loves it. The team and the owner are some of the kindest, most caring people I know and I will be eternally grateful for how they are also helping
me to raise my son into the beautiful boy he is. Montessori is an amazing philosophy for children to be around. My son is adaptable at many life skills and he is extremely independent.

The staff are really caring and our little one loves to come every day and she finishes every day with a smile which is everything a parent could ask!
We looked for a while for a nursery that really focus on Montessori learning and I'm so glad we found Nido.
Highly recommended!

I sent my daughter here a few years ago and now my son is here too. Our daughter learned to become independent with so many tasks at such a young age which gave her the confidence to do things on her own then and now. Our son has also started to do similar tasks (taking shoes on and off, getting his
coat on, toileting) independently and his confidence is growing as well!

My daughter is now 22 months old and has been attending Nido for 4 months. The settling in process was very smooth, with only 1-2 children introduced at a time, to allow them all the attention they deserve in this critical step. I was able to stay and leave for growing amounts of time in a way that
was tailored on the needs of my child. Children spend a lot of time outdoors because the setting is very small and the garden is directly attached to the main room. They can enjoy many different activities approaching them at their paces in a truly Montessori way. They are encouraged to be independent, and after a couple of months my daughter was able to dress herself and put on her shoes. All the staff is very kind and loving. They gradually helped my daughter to sleep, rocking her at first until she was able to fall asleep on her own. My daughter is very happy to go to nursery and she is learning a lot: and we are happy when she is!

We’re very happy that we’ve found this nursery a while ago and it became the first experience of childcare for our daughter. Teachers are friendly and helpful, they support every child and family with their issues. We love the atmosphere that the nursery’s team creates and that our daughter is so happy
there!

"Go to Nido, go to Nido," he says. Our son loves his time at the nursery and we've seen his curiosity thrive and independence grow. He's happy, we are happy, the staff seem happy.
As we emerge from a period of lock-down, the team at Nido have been incredible in their approach. The welfare of the children
has always come first. The staff have gone above and beyond to inform, reassure and listen to parents.
We couldn't be more grateful for the environment the team have created. We'd recommend it to anyone.

Casa has a wonderfully warm and intimate setting that I instantly liked when I first visited. My son has now been going for 2 months and the wonderful bonds he is quickly forming with the lovely teachers is evident when he is excited to go to school every morning. The hands-on activities that kids do
in school does wonders for their confidence. The teachers are very attentive and kind. You can really see all the kids thriving in the nurturing environment being provided.

My daughter has been going to Casa Dei Bambini for just over a month now. She has settled in very well and is very happy and thriving. She is learning and growing and they have a plan in order to support and encourage her development. The settling in period is tricky to navigate as working parents but
we did find it easier on our daughter to very slowly extend the time she spends there. The outside space is relatively small but it doesn't seem to bother her.

Casa Dei Bambini is a wonderful nursery. We recently brought our son here and it is fantastic how attentive and focused they are. There is a plan for the development of children which underpins all the activities. The approach to working with children is also helping to improve independence. I very
much recommend Casa Dei Bambini.

I feel so fortunate to have found Casa Dei Bambini nursery. We moved here from Australia and was determined to find an authentic Montessori classroom for our 3-year-old son, since my 10-year-old son had attended a Montessori nursery from the ages 3 - 6 and we could see the benefits of this style of
self-directed, hands-on learning and purposeful play. Casa is a fine example of how children can thrive in a calm, engaging, fun and nurturing environment. All the staff ensure that the children feel safe and supported to explore and learn, at their own individual pace. Our son has been attending Casa since September 2017 and he still looks forward to going in, every day! The teachers are so patient and kind to him and so professional with their communication to us parents, the school is like a close-knit community. Have a read of "Montessori Madness", to gain an insight into this wonderful world and then go and visit Casa, to see the Montessori magic in action!

We chose Casa dei Bambini for our son as it is both an authentic Montessori school and a kind and caring environment. As our son is still quite young, we also liked how small and intimate the school felt. Our son has only just started and he already loves going to school each day! He settled in so quickly,
and I feel this is both a testament to the warmth and kindness of the staff and the enticing variety of new activities available to our son. We are already starting to see changes in him at home, starting with how independent he has become with his self-care. I am also really impressed with the communication I've had with the school and I feel I've been kept up to date with what's going on in the classroom through the detailed weekly newsletters. Overall, we are really happy with our choice and we can't wait for our son to continue his Montessori journey here!

Casa Dei Bambini is our first tryst with a Montessori style school and I only rue the fact that I did not get to do this with my older child! I am very impressed with the way the manager and their entire team inspire and encourage the little ones under their care to choose and explore tasks and achieve
goals on the said tasks. When the carers tell me that my little one has been brilliant, I believe them! They encouraged her to be so and the changes are there for me to see! I love the feel and aura of the place when I visit the school. It has been hardly 3 months and my daughter doesn't want to miss a single day! This is one happy child and a satisfied mom speaking for Casa Dei Bambini Montessori.

My son has been at Casa Dei Bambini Montessori for 7 months now and he really enjoys it! He seems to thrive and has made progress quite quickly in some areas. The Maria Montessori principles are followed so the children are all mixed in ages and participate in various "work/activities" which gives them
strong life skills and build up their natural character. The ratio teachers to children is about 1:5 at the moment which is very healthy. There is also a good communication flow between the teachers and parents. I feel my son is well looked after and stimulated and I would recommend Casa Dei Bambini anytime.

I am grateful to all the staff for making my daughter's transition so smooth. We moved from Italy and despite the whole new environment, my daughter was made to feel very welcome and at ease. Her English has improved greatly since she started a couple of months ago. She goes to school happily every
day and talks with affection about her new teachers.

The school follows the Montessori philosophy very well and I can clearly see the growth in my daughter's independence, self-esteem and confidence. I love the fact that children start the day outside and use the outdoor space frequently. My younger daughter will join the nursery soon and I know she will be well looked after there. I highly recommend Casa dei Bambini.

It is a small nursery with just above 20 children. Each teacher follows a small group of children (around 5), and they keep a very close eye on their personal development and tailor their learning activities. The teachers are very accessible and easy to talk to.

On dry days they often kick off the

morning letting the children play together in the courtyard, to follow with playing/learning activities where they can experiment with sensorial tools, learn useful basic activities, and a few words of foreign languages, dancing or singing. The goal of the school is fostering independence and thinking while letting the children drive their experience allowing them to choose their toys or how and how long to use them.

Overall I am pleased with the school and extremely impressed by the headmistress for her enthusiasm in working with the children, explaining to them and the parents the reasons behind the choices for modules and for providing a continuous and deep feedback to the parents.

I'd take the opportunity to thank you for the great work you and your team have done supporting my twins in their development. We are very happy with their progress, how confident they are becoming and many times impressed by the things they can do considering how little they are. And above all, the
amazing progress they have done over the last term, we feel they are very happy at your nursery and in a caring and loving environment. Thanks for that!

My son has been attending Casa Dei Bambini since the beginning of the 2016 academic school year and LOVES it! He is eager to go each day and I've noticed his gain in confidence, independence, and he also genuinely enjoys learning. Upon first walking into the school, I noticed the calm atmosphere, which
seemed rather soothing and less distracting for learning. There is a cute garden area in the front where the children can choose to do their work outdoors if they'd like (my son often talks about this). They even have planter boxes, as they have a small school garden. The staff/teachers are kind, caring, and supportive, which makes a very encouraging environment for little ones. Also, there is a sense of community among the parents, which is very welcoming. The headteacher sends weekly updates and attempts to keep us informed of the kids' learning for the week, as well as upcoming happenings. This school is seriously a hidden gem and we are so glad to be a part of Casa Dei Bambini!

We found the "Casa dei Bambini" Montessori school to be an excellent choice for our daughter: she felt welcome, taken good care of, and supported throughout her journey towards being independent.

The staff of the school applies a very true Montessori method, but there's no lack of empathy and emotional

support for the kids. The room is big, clean, and tidy, and the outside space, although small, is well tendered. Activities are interesting and creative. Our daughter made friends she's still in contact with, and the parents community is very friendly and unique. Our daughter did not speak English when she started attending the school, and we believe that the individual attention and support she got really helped her overcome this potential difficulty.

I'm very fond of the Montessori method and I believe the way it is applied in the school helps the children flourish, shows them how to be a responsible member of a small community, where freedom and respect are well balanced.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.825)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.825) out of 10 for Casa Dei Bambini Montessori School is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.925 for Casa Dei Bambini Montessori School is calculated as follows: ( (98 Excellents x 5) + (8 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 106 Ratings = 4.925
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.9 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Casa Dei Bambini Montessori School is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 24 number of registered child places is 4.8, which has been reached with 9 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
