Kids Planet Chesterfield is situated in the heart of Chesterfield with good links to nearby transport.

Kids Planet Chesterfield was registered in 2014. It is set in a beautiful stone Grade II listed building which was completely refurbished to create the perfect environment for children; ensuring they are safe, secure and have the best opportunities to learn and develop; reaching their full potential in readiness for moving to school.

It is at the heart of Chesterfield town centre, making the nursery accessible from all surrounding areas.

It is close to local amenities and takes full advantage of these with the children; making regular visits to the library, local market and the wider community.

Four main playrooms are designed especially for Babies (0-18 months), Tots (18 months-2.5 years) Toddlers (2.5-3.5 years) and Pre-school (3- 5 years).

Since attending this nursery, my child has progressed massively in many ways I could not explain. To put it short, I wish I had enrolled my child sooner. The staff, the care they provide, their activities and just their overall support and care they ensure and provide is amazing. My child started nursery
with a dislike of food; it's touch and smell. We are now at the stage of nearly eating. I'm honestly so grateful. Thank you!

I have two children who have loved their time at Kids Planet Chesterfield, my oldest is now ready for school and the next chapter in her life in which she is super exited and prepared for thanks to the staff at kids planet. We were very hesitant and nervous to send our 1yo son to nursery following a
very poor experience elsewhere. The staff at kids planet have help him with his confidence, speech and he has flourished into a confident CRAZY 2yo. It was very important to us that our son had a better experience and we are beyond happy with Kids planet and would recommend this nursery to anyone! The staff are attentive and have great communication with parents. Thankyou for taking such good care of our little ones

Kids Planet chesterfield - Preschool Room.
The team do so much with the kids, every day there is a different activity set up. They're constantly looking for new and exciting activities for the children. The kids are always making things, doing crafts. My child's Keyworker is amazing, there's nothing
thats too much trouble and she cares for her as she was her own.

Couldn't recommend this nursery anymore than I could. My nephew goes here and I collect regularly, staff are always very welcoming and friendly and just by the small amount of time I am on the building I can see how happy, loved and secure the children are in the nursery.

The team at the nursery are fantastic, I couldn't ask for more in anyone looking after my daughter whilst I'm at work. They take care of her amazingly and she absolutely loves going. The team do a brilliant job in every way.

Really happy with my daughter's time at this nursery. The staff have took their time to get to know and understand her. They made hand-offs really easy when my daughter was very upset and calmed her down with lots of cuddles and patience. She struggled with her speech but has come on so much over the
past 8/9 months. Her confidence has grown and she isn't as shy as she used to be. Thank you to all.

Great nursery and staff! Both of my girls attended/attend nursery, both of them were/are really happy. Staff is absolutely amazing, nothing is too much trouble for them and always helpful.
Day in the nursery is full of activities, kids spend a lot of time outside, food is ok. The great thing is the
app where you can see what is your child doing, eating or how long they slept. The best part is receiving pics of your little one. If you don't have time to check staff will always tell you about the day at the pick-up.
Overall I would 100% recommend this nursery 10/10.

I cannot thank the amazing team at Kids Planet enough for all of their care and support during my little one's time at this nursery. From attending at 15 months to leaving at 4, the staff in each room have helped him settle in, developed his curiosity and love for learning through a variety of fun activities.
He loves the water, messy and outdoor play activities the most and always has a smile on his face and the staff usually have a funny story to tell me about his day too. The chef does a fantastic job making different meals for the children to try and eat throughout the day and my little one has eaten a variety of foods there that he loves. I trust the staff to keep my little one safe and well during his time there and they are great at informing parents about any concerns e.g. if they develop a temperature during the nursery day. He has loved his time there and I am sad this phase is ending. The wonderful team will be missed but I know they'll carry on their amazing work! Thank you!

I couldn't recommend this nursery more! All the staff are so welcoming to both the children and the parents. They go above and beyond to help in any way they can. I've never had any worries about my child while he's been at nursery and the staff are always there to listen to any worries that I have
about my son outside of nursery. The new manager has stepped up in her new role amazingly!

My little boy only attends one day a week, but you would think he is there every day with how the staff greet him when he arrives!
The whole staff team are friendly and approachable, so we feel comfortable speaking with any of them if our child’s key worker isn’t available. The activities the team
plans for the children each day are so creative, fun and educational, that we love the photos and updates sent through the app.
We always get a great verbal update too on pick-up. The nursery has such a lovely, welcoming feel.

Absolutely cannot fault this nursery! I feel like my child is in the best place with the best people looking after him and my daughter will also be attending from next month. The team are the best, so welcoming and friendly and responsive to communication. They are like family to us!

Our son loves it here and is just finishing up his last day in tots ready to move up. The staff are all great, and dropoffs and pickups are always a joy due to the great atmosphere. My son is a bit of a beast, so will have extra portions with his meals, so the food must be good. The relationship between
the staff and kids is great, and I really feel like everyone goes the extra mile. Having fruit available for the kids when you leave at the end of the day is a great touch too! Overall... never a dull moment here, but it's great fun. Ten out of ten guys!

Both my daughter and son attend Kids Planet in Chesterfield. The staff are absolutely amazing and a pleasure to talk to, drop off and collections are always great. They are also incredibly caring and supportive of our children, one with diagnosed autism and the other with additional developmental needs.
I feel like they genuinely share our joy when they meet their targeted milestones!
The food is great, our daughter often has seconds or even thirds (she especially enjoys the lasagna). They always make sure their days are full of activities they enjoy and thrive from doing.
The management is also something to mention, they are the most helpful and supportive of us as well as parents and so easy to speak to and always at the end of the phone/email if needed. I will always 100% recommend the nursery to any of my friends or family looking for one.

Wonderful nursery. Initial observations as you enter are that it is a very organised, structured, fun and very welcoming place.
My son was slightly behind the curve with his speech development however since joining Kids Planet his speech has developed to expected levels. Through the app and through
the development feedback I have noticed a very detailed and attentive focus on any weak areas, as well as developing areas where he is very confident. All members of the team are very polite, engaging and exceptionally helpful regards all matters. I couldn't recommend it highly enough. I even appreciate how dirty and messy his clothes are that get packed up and sent home with him, despite the additional labour, It shows that the children have great fun!

My son attended here for 2 years prior to school and was always well cared for, staff always communicated with me thoroughly on pick-up and using their online app. He learned how to write his name, the alphabet and counting 1-20 before starting reception so he already had a head start which was brilliant.
My daughter now attends and has been through baby, tots and toddler rooms. She has an autism diagnosis so naturally it is hard for me to trust people with her but the staff have done their upmost to accommodate her individual needs and pay extra care and attention. I can tell that two members of staff in particular have taken their time to get to know my daughter as they know her needs very well. There have been the odd times where I’ve pulled staff on something very minimal and it was dealt with accordingly with no further issue. They are open to learning and taking on board your opinions or preferences - which you don’t always get from the staff at other nurseries!

My child has attended Kids Planet Chesterfield since being 9 months and is now leaving for school this year. They have cared for him so well, he gets a little upset when dropping him off but they always let me know he's settled and is playing. When I collect him he always looks like he's having fun
so I can tell that he enjoys being there, he loves talking about what he's been up to and about his friends. He loves the staff and the food and they take the kids out on trips which he loves. They send regular updates in the app with pictures of what he's been up to. His speech has come on so well since starting nursery and he's super excited to go to school. It's really nice seeing all the pictures he has drawn and even practicing writing his own name.

My little boy has been attending for nearly a year now. He started in the baby room. He took to the staff and settled in straight away. They noticed how much he enjoyed messy play and water, offering him a range of exciting activities to get stuck into and explore. He has now recently moved up into
the tots room. The tots staff have done an amazing job at helping him and myself with the transition. I get updates on the app and photos of the range of activities he's investigating.
On collection, my son has always been happy and content. Staff have always given me great feedback from both rooms and have shown great knowledge of my son's development and interests. This is reassuring knowing I'm leaving him in great hands.

They take really good care of my daughter.
My daughter cries a lot when I drop her off, however, one member of the staff (whom she is most comfortable with) will always come to pick her up and makes sure that she is calm. She is so used to being carried around all the time and I was surprised that
they did the same at the nursery.
They would always give proper feedback when we go to pick her up. My daughter was late to walk and when she started walking I saw the same excitement in the eyes of the staff.
When she was in another room she started crying again, however, staff would send me photos and notes on the app affirming that she was okay.
Very pleased with the experience.

Staff are lovely, the facilities inside are very good. The outdoor play area is small and needs on outside too for the children to self-care. Currently, they use the downstairs toilet inside. They manage this small play area well with staggard playtime which the children love. Food is great, daughter
loves it. I do think some food options could be healthier.
We've been very happy here and we'll be sad to leave when the time comes.

Staff turnover is obviously fairly high and management at Kids Planet should consider how to improve staff retention.

Amy is the Manager at Kids Planet Chesterfield. Amy was the Deputy Manager at Chesterfield before she was promoted to Manager in April 2024 with 10 years of experience in childcare within all age groups. Amy is currently studying her Level 5 Lead Practitioner Qualification. She is also the Safeguarding Officer for the nursery.
