Partou Magic Tree Day Nursery & Pre-school Yate is a high-quality nursery and pre-school, Ofsted 'Good' in October 2023, nestled within the grounds of St Paul's School. The nursery is set over two floors, with three large playrooms and a safe enclosed rear garden.

Children at the nursery enjoy bright, carefully planned playrooms that allow them to learn in a nurturing environment. On the first floor, babies enjoy their own cosy unit with quiet soft areas, stimulating toys and a large sleep room. On the ground floor, the nursery's fun toddler rooms lead out directly on to the setting's exciting garden area. These rooms are separate to the nursery's large and well-resourced pre-school room, which is led by a qualified school teacher.

The Magic Tree team are highly qualified and experienced, providing children with exciting learning activities covering the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). The friendly practitioners have safeguarding training, paediatric first aid certificates and childcare qualifications.

Healthy meals and snacks are served from the nursery’s delicious menu, providing children with a wonderful nutritionally balanced diet.

All staff have undergone enhanced DBS checks and the nursery's CCTV and secure door entry systems offers added security.

15 and 30 Hours Free childcare places are available for eligible families.

Having had the experience of a different nursery with my eldest child I am really disappointed with Magic Tree. My daughter has attended for nearly 2 years and has hardly any info/photos on the online learning book. I have never had any ‘review of development’. The staff are more interested in cleaning
at the end of the day than speaking to parents about their child’s day. My daughter only comes home with dirty clothes from her nappy leaking rather than having fun! I was invited to one parents' evening and raised my concerns and was told things would improve with the new manager. She’s long gone already! There’s such a high turnover of staff that nothing ever improves. Would not recommend and would move my daughter if anywhere else had a space.

My daughter absolutely loves coming to Magic Tree Day Nursery Yate, the staff are amazing and my daughter's key worker is incredible. The staff always communicate so well with updates, and when I pick my daughter up they always give me a really detailed rundown of her day. I have complete trust in all
the staff at Magic Tree and I with the new management change recently it’s 100% improved the nursery. I would recommend Magic Tree to any parents and I’m really looking forward to my son starting in September. Thank you so much to all staff.

We registered our son at Magic Tree following their 'outstanding' rating with Ofsted (which has sadly been rescinded). I've been told staff and management had changed around significantly prior to us starting and has continued to. However, all the staff we've encountered are very pleasant and clearly
care about the children. There is new management which I'm hoping supports staff with their development and qualifications, so there's definite positive change on the horizon. We have had room closures in the past, but thankfully have dodged the recent bout of them.
Our main concern is with communication. At our other nursery they used an app which is really swish and easy with very quick responses, but the app Magic Tree use is so clunky and we've had very few updates since we started, and the main form of comms is email which can take a while. Investment in a new app would go a long way. We would also love regular development meetings but have only had one parents' evening in the last year.

I always feel listened to and that the staff are willing to do whatever they can to support the children. Nothing is too much trouble and they really take the time to get to know each child as an individual.

I always feel my daughter is safe, and for me that is the priority at that age.
Her dairy allergy is very well managed and the catering and meal options are nutritious and well-balanced.
We are always welcomed with a smile and welcomed in. We have a good handover and drop-off.
There are always
new and exciting activities for the children to explore and options given to develop independence.
It is true there have been staff shortages, which at times can be a challenge. However, I have always felt the nursery has communicated this well and within good time. I also feel the room closures have been fair and rotated so that it is not the same children all of the time.
Thank you for all you have done in these difficult times.

I recommend Magic Tree. The staff are friendly and my son looks forward to going to Preschool each week. He tries a variety of food there and there are lots of different activities and toys to keep them entertained. I’m happy I chose this nursery as my son seems to love it!

Would think twice again before signing my son to this Nursery.
My son started to attend there from June and they’ve managed to close his room and cancel his session 5 times and I already know he is losing another afternoon next week. The first two sessions were his settling days, then when speaking
with now ex-manager she has told me that was not her problem that they are short of staff. Clearly was more my problem as I had to postpone my work for another week without any notice. Then others are his normal days when I am supposed to be working. They seem to only close the afternoons which it’s not really fair as I believe if they move the staff around this would be fair for everyone to lose some sessions. Now I’ve just received the invoice where they only deducted two sessions instead of three. I had a few more issues but there is not enough room to write them down about. Nice staff but very poor management, impossible to go back to work stress-free.
I wish I knew that before.

I always enjoy picking my grandson up from nursery as he’s always so happy after his session. His key worker always gives me a full rundown on his day. In the car on the way home, he never stops chatting about what he and his friends did during the day and his favourite story too.

Both of my children have attended this lovely nursery and I have complete faith in the staff there. My children have always been happy and formed good bonds with their key worker. From day 1 back in summer 2019, all of the staff have done their best to cater for a few of my son's extra needs. They genuinely care about the happiness of the child and clearly create a great bond with every one of the children.

This is a great nursery that my daughter attended from the age of 1. Staff are brilliant and attentive, my little girl absolutely loves going there, she settled very quickly and now run inside without looking back, she knows all the room stuff by their names. There are always fun activities to do and
lots of things to bring home to show us. Their communication is great and they have been very accommodating in the past. I would recommend this nursery if you are looking for caring and supportive people to look after your little ones, knowing they are always in good hands.

We moved our daughter to Magic Tree in August 2020 due to working from home as a result of COVID-19. Everyone I spoke with before she joined, was friendly and informative. Fast forward 3 months and my daughter loves going to nursery. She can’t wait to go in and as soon as the door opens she’s gone!
I love seeing pictures and reading updates on Learning Book about what she’s been doing during the day. I find this particularly important due to not being able to go into nursery due to COVID. Our daughter is so happy when she comes home, and the staff are more than happy to talk with me about any worries or concerns I have.
