St John’s Nursery is a Day Nursery and Forest School, located in the heart of Redhill. The nursery has three playrooms, a 1000 sq foot garden and a kitchen area. The nursery offers breakfast and tea clubs, flexible drop off hours, and Holiday Clubs for those looking for continuity of care, all year round. St John's accepts FEET funding for two-year-olds and three and four-year-old government funding, as well as Working Parent Entitlement funding.

St. John’s Nursery provides a warm, nurturing environment where every child is encouraged to explore, imagine, and grow. The Forest School programme extends that ethos into the natural world, giving children the freedom to learn through play, discovery, and adventure. The nursery provides the opportunity and tools to enable all the children to be secure, happy and become independent. The setting has three SENCos that help support children with additional support.

The nursery is also a member of the Children's Centre advisory board, The Phase Council and also involved in the SEND Commissioners within Surrey County Council. The nursery is a member of the Pre-School Learning Alliance.

An amazing nursery which I can’t recommend highly enough. My eldest son went from the age of 3 and loved going there and now my youngest has started aged just 2 in August and is equally loving nursery the couple of mornings he goes. The staff are so nurturing and caring and I have no concerns about
leaving my son with them. The garden is huge and both my boys loved the space especially the mud kitchen and sand pit. It’s such a relaxed friendly and caring environment I wouldn’t want my children to go anywhere else and I always recommend the nursery on the parent networks. Definitely worth a visit if you need a fantastic nursery for your children. Two happy boys make a happy mummy so thank you St John’s Nursery Group.

I am thrilled with my daughter’s experience at St John's Nursery so far. She only started in September and has settled in so quickly!
I was worried I would feel out of the loop because my little girl attends two mornings a week on the days I work but I have already been invited to a settling in parents
evening and the nursery send daily emails about what has been available in the setting and what she has eaten at lunch etc. The communication between staff and parents is second to none and this is so important when the children are so young and can’t remember everything themselves.
My daughter is happy and feels safe and the staff are helpful and plan lovely activities to support the children in their development, according to the EYFS learning goals.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this nursery and would like to thank the staff for all they have done for us in the short time my daughter has attended.

Our son has been going here for nearly 2 years. This nursery is outstanding. The staff are brilliant. When my son went to a previous nursery, he got so upset going in and would cling on to me, but not here, he just runs in and barely says goodbye to me, that speaks volumes as to how good St John's is.
My son has come on leaps and bounds since coming here.
For anyone who is worried about sending children to nursery, don't! St John's is great and you wouldn't be disappointed.
Plus it's cheaper than other nurseries which is a bonus!

WOW, I was blown away by this nursery. I had visited several nurseries in the area and St John's was last on my list. I was blown away by it when I went to visit. The staff are so welcoming and clearly passionate about the children's learning. Both myself and my daughter were made to feel 'at home'
straight away. The nursery is in a house which gives it that homely feel straight away. From day one my daughter settled, and to be honest I have to call her back for a goodbye kiss. She is keen to go into nursery and does not stop talking about her day on the way home. The staff keep me well informed with a daily email, and we just had a settling in parents evening. The garden is amazing and I love the fact the staff extend my daughters learning. Don't take my word for it, go along and see for yourself.

This nursery is a godsend.
I was so nervous about sending my son to nursery but St Johns staff have made it a walk in the park. from the minute you walk in they greet you with a smile.
My son is so well looked after and comes out happy and cheerful (which is a huge change for him).
They are so
welcoming and any questions or worries you have they are there to answer and support.
My son has thrived and is improving so much since being there.
Thank you.

My daughter absolutely loves the nursery and all the fantastic staff.
She happily runs in without questions and always leaves with a smile on her face, and plenty to tell mummy about what she has been doing during the day.

Staff are all welcoming and will go above and beyond to help.

I would highly recommend St Johns Nursery. My daughter absolutely loves there and looks forward to going to play with her friends and with the staff!

The staff are fantastic in their approach and the progress my daughter has made in the time she has been at the nursery through their help and encouragement

is amazing. They are all friendly and welcoming to the children, making sure they feel happy and enjoy their time at nursery.

The outside facilities are brilliant with so many activities and areas for the children to play in and explore.

I feel very fortunate that I chose St Johns Nursery for my daughter and will definitely be sending my second child there when she is old enough!

An amazing nursery!

Both my children have attended St John's Nursery, loved it and thrived there. The staff are friendly and so lovely and it was clear from day one that my child's welfare was their priority. They really go the extra mile! When my daughter started at the nursery, she was having

trouble with her speech and making people understanding her but mixing with the other children and working with her key worker, she came on leap and bounds. By the end of her time at the nursery she had caught up with her peers.

The sessions worked really well for my family. The breakfast and tea clubs and the flexible drop off times worked well with my job and getting my elder child to school. The setting is great, with a massive outside space that my daughter loved, especially the mud kitchen and the sand pit!

I would have no problem recommending the nursery to anyone who asked. It is a truly great place for children to flourish!

I absolutely loved this nursery. All staff helped with my daughter's needs. They did everything they could to ensure my daughter had everything she needed. They also listened to what I had to say when I gave suggestions, they listened and put everything in place.

I always felt that if I had any

worries, I was able to speak and get my point across. This was the perfect nursery for my daughter as they understood my daughter's needs straight away and did everything they said they would. I also felt welcomed when I first set foot through the door and that is hard to come by. My daughter was there 2 years and I still say because of this nursery, my daughter thrived. My only wish and bad comment is I wish my daughter could stay there longer. My daughter had all the support she needed and I also had a shoulder to cry on and vent. I thank this nursery so for all the support and help they gave me. All the staff and manager were so great I can say if you wanna put your child here it's the best nursery by far.

The staff at St John’s cannot do enough to help the children settle in and treat them all as individuals. The nursery offers a flexible day which is great for me to fit in around my working hours. My son can be a little hard to handle as he has learning development delays, but the staff have been superb
with him. The outdoor space is great for him as we do not have a garden at home and with his learning needs he enjoys outdoor play, especially water play. The children are outside most of the sessions, allowing children to choose indoor or outdoor play.
The SENCo was fabulous supporting his needs and during his time at St John’s we have seen him grow and meet milestones. Thank you, St John’s, for being so inclusive and supporting me with a child with special needs.

St John's Nursery is a fantastic nursery. My son is 4 years old and attends 4 days per week, including the breakfast and tea clubs. He absolutely loves going to nursery and is keen to get in each day to see his friends. The staff at the nursery are very caring and make a real effort to build relationships
with the parents/carers. I would be happy to ask any of the members of staff to discuss anything if I needed to, they are very approachable. The key worker system is especially helpful so that there is always a specific staff member taking a special interest in each child's development.

The nursery has a lovely happy atmosphere, I felt this right from the first time I was showed around. The nursery has theme weeks and different activities which help keep things fun for the children and greatly aids in their development. My son loved the farm visit last summer! I am really pleased we chose this nursery and I frequently recommend it to friends.

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.316)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.316) out of 10 for St John's Nursery - Redstone Lodge is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 5 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.3 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.983 for St John's Nursery - Redstone Lodge is calculated as follows: ( (59 Excellents x 5) + (1 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 60 Ratings = 4.983
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.333 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for St John's Nursery - Redstone Lodge is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 30 number of registered child places is 6. 5 Positive Reviews ÷ 6 = 0.833
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
