I received some photos and updates of how my boy was doing that week, and he looked so happy and content - it brightened my day to see how settled he is and how much the ladies in his room seem to enjoy being around him.

I am a mother of a child at Tigers Swindon (Delta) and would like to share my thoughts on how well our little one has settled in. We had first enrolled him when he was 20 months old and had to pull him out for a big gap of a month and a half. When we got back, he was moved to the next room and we were
a bit concerned as to how he was going to cope. But to our surprise, he was okay in just a few days and settled in really quickly. Thanks to the lovely staff for providing that care, as otherwise, it would have been a tough time for us (parents). He thoroughly enjoys going into the nursery and loves to learn a lot of new things. He has become so confident that we can see he is able to socialise with people very well. I would highly recommend the nursery. Excellent staff and excellent care!

Having been a parent of Tigers @ Swindon some 4/5 years ago, I didn’t hesitate to enrol my youngest daughter. My little one has some additional health factors and the staff have listened intently to everything I’ve said and I have really valued their openness to any adaptations that may be required.
My daughter has not been in childcare previously and I was anxious about how she would settle. I cannot commend the staff enough for their abilities with the children, after a few settling in sessions and the first-week hurdle my little one goes into nursery and will happily wave bye-bye. The communication via the app is really easy and gives a good update about what has happened that day. I would highly recommend Tigers to any prospective parent, particularly those with babies and are having some anxiety around settling their little one.

My son has settled into this nursery so well. After changing from another setting, I was worried, but he's doing amazingly well! He even askes to go on the days he's not sure in. From what I've seen so far, the communication with parents is amazing, and I know what he's doing most of the day. This seems
to be a very happy and caring nursery, and I couldn't be happier I found it for my son and relieved they still had space for him to attend.

Staff were quick to ensure the needs of my child were met. My son has always been wary of other adults but quickly settled into the setting. I felt comfortable being able to leave him with the girls and know he would be comfortable and happy. The girls helped me feel reassured every step of the way,
and my son has gained so much confidence within the last few weeks.
I think the outside space could be bigger and there aren’t many toys to play with outside. The meals given are of good quality, but the children aren’t offered snacks throughout the day, which I thought they were.

Tigers is an excellent nursery. It took me weeks searching and visiting nurseries in Swindon before I found Tigers. This has been the best decision I ever made. My son has been going since he was five months old and he is one year old now, the staff/nursery are like family. I feel we work together to
give him the best. I feel safe and confident leaving him at Tigers whilst I work, I know he is cared for, he is thriving way above his age, happy, confident and sociable little boy and that's thanks to us all working as a team. They really do take time to know your child. Highly recommend Tigers.

Fantastic staff, reliable and understanding. I have a child that suffers from anxiety and this nursery has done wonders for her, she is a different child, now settled at school. An excellent environment a very chilled atmosphere for the children. Very skilled ladies, all of them are really lovely with
the adults and the kids. I have four children all in different schools/nurseries and this is the best nursery I have dealt with.

My son enjoys his time when he is at Tigers at Swindon Day Nursery. He suffers with a little separation anxiety at drop off but always leaves with a big smile on his face at the end of the day because he has enjoyed himself. Tigers were a great support during toilet training and my son is now happy,
confident and dry. My son does struggle with food and is very picky, but Tigers offer him a wide variety of foods to try without pushing him too much (which is counterproductive with him).

Caring and friendly staff. My little one smiles every morning and is still smiling when I pick him up. We are kept well informed, the food is great and there are so many fun activities and opportunities for family to join in. I feel very secure knowing that my little one is in very capable hands who
all look forward to seeing him in the morning!

Last time my review was different but because of a big improvement, staff find time to speak with parents and sharing a lot of useful information about daily activities. Meals and additional attraction performed at nursery. It is lovely to see my son who is much happier in the oldest group. Now I know
what my boy is doing during the day at nursery and what he eats exactly. One thing that should be improved is the pegs for the clothes. Almost each time when I pick up my son, his coat/bag is on the floor or somewhere where it is difficult to get to.

My child has come on leaps and bounds since joining Tigers. The staff really took the time to get to know him and help with areas like speech which he struggled with. He comes home so happy every session, he really enjoys the room as well as the staff. I'm so pleased we made the decision to send him
there.

My child is always very happy to go to Tigers and see his friends and the staff. The facilities are good, especially the bubble room and the dance studio that my child likes playing in. The staff seem very involved in getting to know each child, learning their ways and how best to interact with them,
which is great as all kids are different.
Would recommend Tigers as a good pre-school to get kids prepared for the step up to school.

This is a fabulous day nursery. I have 2 children there aged 1 and 2, and they both love it. I can't praise the staff and management enough. I happily recommend the nursery to family, friends, and co-workers.

They have a good balance of routine and variety, both my children are thriving there and

it's comforting to know they are in such good hands and having fun whilst I'm at work.

It will be a sorry day when my eldest finally has to leave for school.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.419)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.419) out of 10 for Tigers at Swindon Day Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 10 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.5 out of 5 from 10 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.900 for Tigers at Swindon Day Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (109 Excellents x 5) + (10 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 120 Ratings = 4.9
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.519 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Tigers at Swindon Day Nursery is based on 10 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 = 3.75
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 65 number of registered child places is 13. 10 Positive Reviews ÷ 13 = 0.769
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2017

I have over 15 years of experience in childcare and education: babies up to 11 years and children with additional needs. I am Level 3 qualified in Children’s and young people’s workforce and hold a Level 3 NVQ in play work and have taken on a variety of roles including Senco, safeguarding lead, room leader, deputy and Manager. I love my job and getting to know our lovely families. I am passionate about early years care and education and understand how important it is for a child’s development and wellbeing and the impact positive learning experiences and developing relationships and confidence are for the future.

I joined the team here at Swindon in March 2023 and haven’t looked back. I have previously worked at Tigers in Theale and Thatcham between 2017 and 2022 working as a Nursery Nurse working my way up to third in Charge at Theale, becoming the deputy here at Swindon before taking on the role of Manager in August 2024

I love the layout of the Nursery and the welcoming environment we offer. As a team we all work together to support all Children and their families. We are always reflecting on what we do, and the Why and how we do it. We always set the goal post high to be the Best Nursery we can be, providing the best care and start to life for all children.

I am a Mum to three adult children and two grandchildren age 8 and 6. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with family and friends, trips to the theatre, skating, dance and sporting events.
