Southwater Day Nursery and Pre-school

My daughter has been going to Southwater Nursery (toddler room) since September 2025 and she absolutely loves it. It took a little time for her to settle in but the staff have been so patient and caring and I am so pleased she enjoys it so much. The staff in the toddler room are always so friendly & give us updates when we pick her up. I would highly recommend Southwater Day Nursery 5 star.

My son has been at Southwater Preschool for just over two years and I can confidently say there has been a huge improvement in his development. A large part of this is due to his outstanding key worker who took the time and patience to understand our son and his needs. The management and whole team are very proactive in relation to SEND awareness and have been absolutely fantastic and supportive in the whole process of our son being diagnosed with autism. Our son loves going to preschool and the brilliant and attentive staff have made it a safe place for him. Our son is able to thrive in the environment set for him we have absolute trust in every single member of staff that works with him.

Very pleased with the nurseries care, lovely supporting staff and my son is well looked after in their care. While the nursery on the smaller side, I like they utilise the space they do have well with a variety of activity choice (judging from the picture updates). The food always smell good that's been cooked and my son actually eats it! I have tried the cakes when visiting delicious! The parking outside can be a bit chaotic (not nurseries doing) so we park in the car park across the road no problems, plenty of spaces to walk around. The price initially might seem steep, but really for the price of good childcare, its very good value for money and very worth it. I have previously recommended to other parents and would still highly recommend them.

Our daughter has been in the toddler room since September last year. She settled in straight away, always seems happy to go and sometimes doesn't want to leave nursery at the end of the day! The staff are friendly and caring and nothing seems to phase them. They genuinely seem to care for all the children which makes it easy to leave her with them without worrying at all. Our daughter has learnt a lot whilst at this nursery, for instance, the other day she told me that red means stop and green means go, which we definitely didn't teach her. The space isn't as extensive as some nurseries but they have a lot of toys and things to do so it doesn't really matter.

My three-year-old son has been enrolled for five months. The team is amazing. Teachers are very accommodating to his individual needs while teaching him fundamental social and learning skills. They did their absolute best to help him settle there and happily come back. The atmosphere is amazing and activities they do are outstanding. Thank you so much for all you do.

The Baby Snug team has been fantastic since our daughter started increased days at the beginning of the year. She has made impressive strides in eating independently, her communication, and her sleep, and she's always happily playing when we pick her up. She eagerly heads in with her key worker or any team member each morning, all of whom make a real effort to ensure she feels comfortable. We take great comfort in knowing that our daughter is well cared for by everyone and seems to genuinely enjoy her time there. The team keep us updated, either in person or through the app whenever possible. The management team has also been incredibly helpful and accommodating, especially with a recent allergy discovery. Given our highly positive experience with the Southwater team over the past six months, I couldn't recommend them more.

Both my children have thrived since joining Southwater Day nursery and Pre-school. The care given by the team is wonderful and helped settle both children really well into their respective rooms. Handovers are always really informative, mentioning what they have been up to that day, what they have eaten etc. Management have always been really helpful answering any questions I have. It is an all round brilliant nursery and pre-school.

The only not so great thing is that we can't take the chef home as they only seem to eat her meals.

As an anxious mother, sending our first child to nursery has been incredibly hard. But all the staff at Southwater Family Nursery have been wonderful. They share all our child's activities throughout the day. They send updates with videos and pictures of our child's progress via the app and are always so happy to welcome them each day. Our child's key worker compiles a thorough observation review each term and informs us of the next steps for them to hit their milestones. Our child has progressed so well and is starting to make lovely relationships with staff and their peers. I cannot recommend this nursery enough. They are highly professional, caring and knowledgeable people, with your child's care and happiness in mind. Thank you.

Little one started in September, all the staff are friendly and capable. We have a baby that does not sleep and they worked with us on this matter. Would recommend for a safe and welcoming environment. Little one never cries at drop off just wants to get the day started there!

My son is very happy and settled and is well looked after by everyone. I am very happy and my son is growing in confidence. I would like more outside space but know they make the best of what they have and go outside as much as they can!

Having come from a nursery background myself I could not be more happy with all aspects of the care and communication. We highly recommend Southwater Day Nursery.

What an amazing nursery. I am blown away by how warm welcoming and above all amazing the staff are with each individual child they have at the nursery. I love the array of activities they have daily for the children to do which are also very educational as well. The food menu is brilliant and all home-cooked and the gorgeous smells from the kitchen when you walk in show the quality of the meals the children have. We attended the Southwater Christmas Fayre at the nursery and were made so welcome my daughter didn't actually want to leave. The gift from Santa was lovely and a lovely memory for her to look back on. We got to view the preschool part of the nursery as it was open and wow the variety of toys on offer and the space is amazing and can't wait for the next step in my daughter's journey into the preschool area when she is the correct age. Can't recommend this nursery enough.

The only reason for 4 stars for facilities/outdoor is that the outdoor section is quite small as it is right next to the infant school, but they always go outside and play and have a sand pit and tons of toys.

Our son has so much fun here that he is usually fuming when we pick him up at the end of the day. There is such a variety of great and engaging activities, they even have access to the fairy woods where they explore and get to sit around the (pretend!) campfire. He has complex needs both dietary and some emotional, which has been taken entirely in their stride. He has made some lovely friends and the staff treat him so wonderfully. The staff are all such lovely humans. Thank you!

Our little boy started here in January 2024. He initially struggled with handover every morning and became very upset. Staff, in particular, the room lead and his key worker, were very reassuring and honest about how he settled after I left, the support they gave him (cuddles) and updated the app quickly. Each time I collected him, I had a detailed verbal update on his day to give me the confidence to drop him off the next day. They reassured me it would get easier and 6 weeks in, he went in happily and waved goodbye to me. He has already learned so much here too and can now use a spoon and build a tower all on his own!

One member of staff has made the experience stress-free, and our son seems to be really enjoying his time. She updated the portal with updates so we could see how he was getting on.

My daughter loves attending nursery. She has made some amazing friends and enjoys telling us about them and what they get up to. Staff members keep me updated regularly via the app and are always happy to talk to me on the phone if needed. I'm happy to know my daughter is well-fed throughout the day by the award-winning lady whom my daughter adores.
