Kensington Place Day Nursery and Preschool in South Kensington provides exceptional Early Years education in a beautiful townhouse setting with a delightful walled courtyard.

Formerly Maggie and Rose Kensington, the nursery is rated Good by Ofsted (November 2024) and offers a rich, child-led curriculum inspired by the Curiosity Approach and Hygge philosophy. Bespoke activities include Spanish, music, loose parts play, and sessions in the popular splat room. Children benefit from cosy reading areas, a sensory room, and regular outings to Holland Park, museums, and local attractions.

With small class sizes, a dedicated SENCo, and a passionate team, the nursery creates a nurturing environment where every child can thrive. Parents stay connected through the Famly App and are welcomed to frequent stay-and-play sessions and family events.

We were extremely happy with Maggie & Rose Kensington. Our daughter loved going there every day. The staff were very helpful, flexible and loving to the kids.
In particular, the login website is very advanced with daily updated photos, nappy change times, meal plans (and how much they ate) and chatrooms
with staff. We also have the impression that they do lots of different activities with the kids on a daily basis, which really helps them develop.
There is not one single negative point we can think of and we would make the same decision again without any hesitation.

I cannot recommend Maggie & Rose Kensington Nursery highly enough! As a first time mother, I was extremely apprehensive about leaving my eleven month old daughter at nursery and the Maggie & Rose Kensington Nursery team were amazing at making her feel welcome, comfortable and happy in her new surroundings.
The facilities and activities they have for the children are second to none. Every day my daughter does something new and exciting, especially playing with paints, arts, crafts and music. She has learnt and developed so much since she started at Maggie & Rose Kensington Nursery. The food is also nutritious and interesting. The team at the nursery are brilliant, you really can sense that they care for the children and my daughter is so excited to see her teachers every day and runs into nursery each morning with a smile on her face. They have a great app that updates the parents throughout the day with lots of pictures and videos, as well as development reports so you feel very involved in your child's day.

Really fantastic family-oriented nursery, staff are very kind and patient with the children (and parents too!), lots of fun activities to do, great stimulating space where they can get messy as well as learn, my son loves it and always arrives and leaves with a smile on his face!

We absolutely love Maggie & Rose Kensington Nursery. Our daughter is so happy when she is there and the staff is warm, loving and caring. The standards are high, the food of very good quality, its super clean and there is often more than one adult per three children.

All staff are very polite, flexible and highly recommended for busy parents.
In particular, my daughter loves the manager. One day, when I came to pick her up, she was sitting next to her at the reception. I am very grateful that she is supporting my daughter in a heartwarming way, with strange children

I am really happy with Maggie & Rose Kensington Nursery. The manager is very competent and very accommodating for all of my daughter’s needs.


Healthy food is very important to me and the nursery goes out of their way to cook healthy unprocessed meals. My daughter also follows a sugar-free pescatarian

diet and this is always accommodated for without hesitation.


I love the individual attention provided as the nursery is small and friendly and my daughter has really bonded with both the manager and her key worker and gets upset when I come to pick her up!


They are very accommodating with last minute extra sessions or changes of plan. The nursery also often take the children on trips such as to hold chicks or to the library which are always conducted safely and in small numbers.


Couldn’t be happier with the nursery and is definitely my preferred form of childcare for my daughter.

Our two daughters entertain themselves on a daily basis doing various, creative activities and learn a lot by coming to Maggie & Rose. It's a great setting for children to play and learn while making new friends at the same time. The food is also excellent!
The new nursery manager has been friendly
and professional in her interaction with us and some of the other nursery staff have been very nice with our girls.

I am so happy I enrolled my daughter at Maggie & Rose. When my daughter had first started, one lady there made me feel very comfortable and I was so happy with the attention and care she was giving to my child. This lady left for maternity leave and I started to feel a little anxious although all other
staff members were just as lovely. However, I was so lucky that the manager joined the nursery just as our lady left. The manager is doing a wonderful job, her communication skills are exceptional. She is very supportive understanding and she is solution driven. I am truly satisfied with the care and attention given to my daughter by all staff members, but especially by two particular ladies. My daughter is happy, her English has truly improved and she has learnt a lot for her age. I am very proud.

Maggie & Rose has surpassed all my expectations as a nursery for my son. I couldn’t be happier with them. The staff are fantastic, very friendly and keep my son entertained all day long. The facilities are great and the menu is very varied including lots of healthy options. They also helped him settle
in very quickly and now he doesn’t want to leave! I feel very happy dropping him off there and confident that he will have a wonderful time.

Maggie & Rose Kensington Family Club & Nursery is a lovely family members club as it offers a variety of classes - cooking lessons, art classes, a soft-play area, a playroom and a cafe (all organic and very healthy)


I am very pleased with the Nursery - staff are professional and very personal.

All the mothers and nannies seem to know each other and Maggie greets all adults and children by name.

My daughter started at Maggie & Rose shortly after her 2nd birthday; she attends three half days per week and loves it. From the start, both my daughter and I were made to feel very comfortable due to the warm and personable nature of every staff member, which naturally follows the general ethos of
the members club.
Days are structured yet fun and imaginative, each week follows an original theme and my daughter is always keen to tell me all about everything she did on the way home! The staff really get to know all of the children well and feedback is always given upon collection. The weekly menus are creative and nutritious and my daughter has transformed from a typical fussy toddler to a fantastic eater. I would highly recommend this nursery, it’s a very fun and nurturing environment that really prepares children, in a non-pressurised way, for the next steps of formal education. I have a very confident, independent, imaginative and thoughtful child which I would certainly thank Maggie & Rose a lot for!

I was really happy with our experience with the nursery at Maggie & Rose. I think that for babies and toddlers Maggie & Rose offers an extremely nurturing, caring environment. The staff are extremely kind and I felt fully confident leaving my son at the nursery and knew he would be extremely well looked
after. As it is a small group of children they each get a huge amount of attention and it was a great introduction to the nursery environment for my son.

Both of my kids attended the nursery at Maggie & Rose and they were so happy there! The nursery teachers and staff were always so caring. They always had fun activities planned for the week and both my kids thrived. I would highly recommend the nursery, its learning curriculum, the facilities and the

From the moment I stepped into Maggie & Rose and met the nursery manager, I knew my daughter would be in good hands. It is a calm, nurturing environment with happy children, her home away from home. My daughter admires her teachers who are loving, understanding, skilled and genuinely care about the

It was the 1st nursery that our daughter went to and our experience from the day 1 has been very good. My daughter started to speak English (and speak at all) after going to this nursery.
Staff have been very caring and supportive, especially when we just started. I would like to highlight the nursery
manager. She is very positive, welcoming and helpful. My daughter loves her very much!

Gemma has worked in the Early Years and Education sector since 1999. Upon leaving school she knew she wanted to work with children and has always had a passion for working with children who have additional needs. Gemma is Level 7 qualified and strives to ensure the quality of care and learning is prioritised at all times, giving children and their families the best nursery experience she possibly can. Gemma loves to support, develop and train her team to ensure little ones have access to quality learning opportunities and unique learning experiences to support their growth and development.
