Into-Play @ Barnwood opened in October 2015 and was previously the old Barnwood doctor's surgery. It is perfectly situated to provide childcare to Barnwood, Elmbridge, Hucclecote and Abbeymead.

The nursery has been carefully designed to provide all age groups with superb equipment and activities to suit their developmental stage. They have an under 2's room, 2-3's room and large pre-school unit, which is complemented by a huge outdoor space to allow the children to get out in the fresh air and enjoy mud kitchens, reading teepee and the outside playroom, known as "The Shed". (Gloucester Rugby Reference!)

Staff are excellent and show a great level of knowledge but also compassion that can't be taught. The facilities allow our little one to learn through play & more. She is our first child so trusting someone else with her was a huge step for us but all the staff at intoplay made it so easy and understood
any worries we may have and worked to make us feel at ease. The half term reports we get explore essential learning skills for our child and also highlight areas so we can also work on them at home. We know this holistic style has been so important for our little one. The range in meals has been great allowing our girl to explore meals we may not necessarily make at home.


Activities are so wide ranging which has been fab. She has learnt about different cultures, textures and more as well as engaging with yoga! The staff at Into-Play are a credit to the sector and truly feel like the extra hands needed when raising your child to be the best they can be.

My daughter loves going to Into-Play nursery; the staff are friendly, understanding and accommodating and always try to ensure she is fully supported. My child is so happy here and has learned so much!


The staff are all so lovely and caring and I know my daughter is well looked after!


I can highly recommend intoplay to any new parents! They make it so easy to do so!

I am generally so happy with the care my son receives at this nursery. The staff are warm, caring, and clearly passionate about what they do. My son loves going in each day and has grown in confidence since starting there. The bond he has made with each and every staff member is the most special thing
and the effort they put into every day learning is best! Communication with parents is great, and it's clear the team truly care about the children. I would definitely recommend this nursery to other parents

They are fantastic with my daughter, understand her needs and make really enjoy pre-school. She has made great friends there and is thriving both socially and academically.


Accidents are reported, there is always a good handover at pick up and drop off.

Into Play Barnwood has been fantastic. My daughter was very nervous and they have done a brilliant job of settling her. I cannot recommend them enough. Our daughter has grown in confidence and ability in so many areas of her learning. We had been to a previous nursery and we were amazed by the change and growth when she joined. We have had opportunities to go in for stay and play sessions and see so many wonderful things,
a real special experience was the Christmas concert we got to watch.

Cannot recommend IntoPlay Barnwood enough. I moved my son here just before he turned 3 as his old nursery was suddenly shut. He has thrived so far at Into-Play, he comes home happy and tells me about his day - something he never did at his old nursery.
The ladies are kind and the staffing is consistent
(again, something he wasn't used to at his old nursery). He gets to spend time outdoors everyday in their big garden (no matter the weather!) which he loves, he's also been really well supported with potty training.
Highly recommend and I would have no hesitation sending future children here

I was drawn to the cosy feel within Into Play when looking around nurseries , but I have to say that it's the staff that really make it as great as it is. My son thrives at this nursery and the team in the baby room (Tracey, Shona, Jess and Sue) are all incredible women. I know he's well looked after
and happy here because he dives out of my arms when they meet us at the gate - and I also get plenty of updates throughout the day. We've only been here a few months, but I'm looking forward to him working his way up the rooms over the next few years.

The preschool room has been amazing for my son. He's been going to Into Play since he was in the baby room and will now be leaving in September for school, and he's really grown into himself since moving up to preschool in particular! Everyone has been so patient with his needs and have been so good
at working with the community nurses to support him. He loves going to preschool and enjoys telling me about his adventures (and misadventures!) at the end of the day. Thank you everyone at Into Play Barnwood!

My daughter has been at this nursery since she was 8 months old, moving through all rooms and now in her final year of pre-school. She has thrived there since day 1, and this year has faced some challenges which the nursery has been very supportive of, particularly with the support of the in-house SENCO.
They treat the children amazingly and maintain close relationships with the parents too to build trust and familiarity, so you know the children are in good hands. We are sad this is her last year as they have helped her grow since a baby, and have had such a huge positive impact on the first 4 years of her life. She is absolutely ready to embark on the journey to school, thanks to the pre-school staffs attentiveness and support.

I have a daughter who attends this nursery. She hadn't had one day where she hasn't wanted to go and had made such good friendships. She has gained so much confidence she performed in the Christmas play and was extremely proud to sing and dance and take a part of placing nose on the snowman. She is
showing so much confidence. Her learning with numbers and letters has become so strong. The staff are so friendly and always do fun things with the kids.

Fab nursery, very supportive our toddler loves going here staff are friendly and caring. Good balances food and snacks given, minimal or no screen time and plenty of outdoor play each day. Good activities and communication with parents throughout the day too

Into play Barnwood has been absolutely brilliant over the past year of my baby now toddler attending. He absolutely loves all the staff and activities. The care was so tailored when he was a baby and his routine was followed exactly the same as at home. The extra circular activity such as the external
yoga teacher is such a nice touch. His development has been amazing since attending nursery especially learning to walk/talk/socialise! Would 100% recommend!

Fantastic nursery! Wonderful staff, professional but friendly and approachable. Great outdoor space, variety of activities and home cooked nutritional meals. Cannot fault it. Daughter settled in no time and has great friends in the other children and staff now. Would recommend!

My boy is 18 months and has been attending this nursery since 12 months. I have been nothing but amazed at how great the staff are and how well it's run. There's never an issue, the staff are always helpful, friendly and accommodating. My son is currently going up into an older class and it's been dealt
with so carefully, offering intro sessions and ensuring he's happy in the new environment. He loves the food offered and is always happy to attend his set days. I cannot praise the staff enough, especially staff in the baby room where he currently spends his days. Thank you.

The nursery is great! The staff are so welcoming and attentive. They supported the transition for our 11 month old so carefully and the staff worked with us to make sure it was successful. Our little one loves nursery which is the most important thing.
The environment looks a bit tired but the quality
of activity and care that is provided completely makes up for this.
I'd highly recommend the nursery!

My son has been attending this nursery since he was just turning 12 months, and he is now coming home 2yrs and I could not recommend this nursery enough!
For any anxious, worrying mother leaving their baby, I'd highly recommend Into Play Barnwood. The staff are so welcoming and caring. My son took
a while to settle in (which is normal) but he absolutely adores his nursery days now, and has learnt so much while in their care. The team in the baby room, and Tweenies are absolutely brilliant and I am very grateful for them.

Into play have gone above and beyond to help our daughter with settling into nursery. From the babies room to now in Tweenies, all staff have been fantastic at helping our daughter develop and have lots of fun every day! She learns lots, does such a variety of activities and a great range of meals too.
We really couldn't ask for more.

My little one has been at into play for 6 months and I can't think of a more perfect setting for her. She goes in smiling and leaves very happy and fulfilled. The baby room team are incredible, adaptable and kind to her needs and us as a family. I was so anxious at first but they took time and energy
into trying to settle her in which pulled off has she has built such a lovely rapport with the staff. The app is great for me keeping a check on things and communicating with the team for which they are prompt to reply. I'm so grateful she enjoys going there and I can't rate the baby room staff more highly!
