The Hackney Day Nursery & Preschool, rated Good by Ofsted (August 2022), offers a welcoming and engaging day care setting.

Caring for children aged from 6 months to 5 years old, the nursery is located in a unique setting, occupying three railway arches in London Fields. Children benefit from a huge outdoors area covering an impressive 5000sqft, meaning they are never limited on space to play and explore.

As well as being caring and committed to giving every child the best start, the team of practitioners are highly experienced and create a variety of activities to ensure children are able to reach their full potential. The team always consider children's interests and development stage to cater their learning experience specifically to them, giving them the best chance to thrive with continuous support and guidance.

The trust of parents is imperative and the team seek to work in collaboration to ensure they are able to deliver the best care to all children. To help you stay in the loop, they provide daily updates and photos about your child’s routine and activities, ensuring you never miss any of those key milestones.

My sister attends the nursery and she is very excited to go see her teachers and friends. She loves the preschool activities especially when she brought home gingerbread after reading the story. The teacher in the room are very nice and all seem to enjoy the children. My sister calls them her best friends
who sing and makes her laugh. She does speak about the scary monster who makes her laugh each time he visits the nursery. I can say she is very happy.

My daughter has attended the nursery for nine months and loves it. The extra activities are her favourite, especially the Spanish lessons and the African drumming. The preschool team are all fantastic with the care provided and the food. She is a fussy eater; however, the chef ensures she makes something
for her.

Our son has been going to this nursery for over a year now. We are very happy with everything provided by the nursery: activities, quality of staff, food, premises etc.. Most importantly, our son is very happy and he has made lots of very good friends who he recognises when we bump into them on weekends.
He has also made tremendous progress with various things such as speaking, expressing himself and also potty training. We would highly recommend this nursery.

My daughter joined FountNursery in January 2022 at 11 months and from the first day, I felt very comfortable with my choice. She is always happy at drop off and gets excited when she arrives in the morning. The baby room staff have all been fantastic. Her key worker has been wonderful. Every day she
is getting to be creative, the pictures that are shared on the app are a great way to stay across the activities. After 11 months of mat leave it was such a relief to know that she was happy at nursery. Fount was recommended to me by a friend who had also had a great experience there. I would definitely recommend also.

Our son has been in the baby room for 8 months now and he loves it! The baby room staff is amazing. He was the youngest when he started at 6-month old and they were very mindful of him and to try and keep to his schedules. He has never cried once at the time of drop off and you can tell he is genuinely
happy to see his adult and baby friends again every single morning. The baby room team is very creative when it comes to activities, from painting and drawing to messy plays with water or cornflour!


Every day they explore with music, singing or dancing and have some time outside in their garden or in the London Fields park which is right next to the nursery (weather permitting). The staff takes time every day to update parents of what has happened during the day, takes pictures and highlights significant learning development milestones. All that hard work is very much appreciated and we highly recommend the baby room team!

I imagine that nurseries offer more or less similar services overall. I am however particularly pleased by the staff of the baby room: the staff take the time to warmly welcome my son and me in the morning and give me a brief at the end of each day. Despite having many other kids/parents, I never feel
rushed and I am very pleased with that. They also update the parents through the app with a diary and detailed observations [on that note, I wished the new owners had listened to us and hadn't changed the app, the previous one was way better for us, the parents/clients].


Also, my son joined at 5 months old, he was the smallest and barely able to seat, and I never imagined they would have him involved that much at that age, doing arts and other manual/sensory stuff. They are very creative and patient I guess. No wonder why he is so happy when arriving there, they care and it's way more fun than at home!


Overall, the people working there are great.

This is a wonderful nursey and we could not be happier. We were initially concerned about putting our nine-month-old daughter into nursey and considered a nanny instead, but after a few weeks, we could not be happier. Our daughter absolutely loves it and we could not imagine a better environment for
her development. The women who run the baby room are fantastic. They are so kind to all the children and spend so much time thinking about activities to bring out the best in everyone. They are very assiduous in updating the parent app, both as regards each child and also as regards what the group are doing each day, which is a fantastic way to feel like you're aware of what is going on whilst you are at work. We could not be happier and would recommend this nursery unconditionally. We really can't speak highly enough of both the nursery and the staff.
The location is great - right next to London Fields and the nursey uses this to provide more space for the children. Highly recommended!

We moved our son to Fount Nursery 6 months ago as we had recently moved house and needed to find a nursery closer to our home. We were so nervous about a new nursery but Fount has exceeded all expectations and our son is happier than he has ever been in daycare. Fount constantly impresses us with the
activities the toddlers do every day. They are always at local parks, museums or libraries which is so great. The indoor activities often centre around making food and sensory activities which are very engaging. The staff are excellent at keeping parents updated throughout the day with how the children have slept, eaten and played. We often receive photos and videos via the app which of course, every parent loves! The management team are always accommodating when needing to book extra days too. Thank you for all your hard work looking after the children.

Our son has been at Fount Nursery for 2 months now and is very happy. No tears when dropping him off but never wants to come home! His speech has developed as have his fine motor skills and independent play.

I began my career in Early Years education as an apprentice and have since progressed to Nursery Manager, gaining a strong, hands-on understanding of child development along the way. I’m passionate about nurturing confident, curious, and independent little learners.


Combining study with practical experience has allowed me to bring theory to life and develop an empathetic, supportive approach to leadership. I believe in working closely with children, families, and practitioners to create the best outcomes for every child.


From engaging activities and nutritious mealtimes to adventures in the garden, I want every child to enjoy a rich, well-rounded experience that gives them the best possible start.


Each day in Early Years brings something new, and I continue to be inspired by the creativity, resilience, and imagination of the children in our care. For me, being a role model means guiding children while giving them the freedom to explore and learn in their own unique way.
