I had a great experience with the whole team. My daughter had an amazing time. All the teachers are nice and friendly. They have been very supportive for my daughter and caring for her and all the children. My daughter has developed a lot intellectually and psychologically. All the children are happy
and excited to spend the day in the Chestnut Nursery School @ Markyate Road.
Since May 2022 until now, my daughter spends so much good time and had very nice memories with this nursery.

The teachers were very friendly and supportive. My son always looked forward to going to nursery. Transitioning to NARP (nursery assessment resource provision) nursery was easy and everything was explained to me in detail. Good communication between myself and the staff. My son really improved a lot
- I would 100% refer other parents to take their children to Chestnut Nursery Schools.
Very good and good, safe facility.

Chestnut Nursery Schools @ Markyate Road has been looking after our child now for about two years! He is now on his way to reception in September.
Since the start and mainly the last year, the nursery has been amazing! We have seen the biggest and best improvements and developments in our child.
He
is confident, built on his social skills and attention skills and the staff have always gone extra to help us and him strive for more.
The nursery has always been transparent and understanding as well as providing us with tools to help with continuous learning at home.
Our child is non-verbal and the nursery has been incredible with his needs.
I could not recommend them anymore, from the management to the assistance to the SENCOs!
Great place for a child to grow!

My son came to Chestnut Nursery Schools @ Markyate Road when he turned 2-years-old, he was very wary of strangers and got very upset from being away from me. Since coming to Chestnut he has come so far, the teachers were so lovely and patient with him, playing with him and finding out his likes and
dislikes. I cannot thank the staff enough for all they did for my son and also keeping me updated with his progress and checking in on him. I’m sad to say goodbye to Chestnut and the team there as my son starts nursery in September but I honestly couldn’t be happier that I chose to send my son there.

I chose this nursery simply because it was very close but also I did read their Ofsted report which was good but my daughter's time at this nursery has been lovely. The staff are lovely! Although there were staff changes it didn't affect the children as they received the same great care and support
and the nursery manager was always so great at sending out communications, keeping parents up to date with what is happening. The environment is a great setting…great outside play area and areas for toddlers and preschoolers. My daughter has thoroughly enjoyed this nursery setting, in particular, the deputy manager who is simply the loveliest human being ever. Always a smile on her face and is so affectionate with all the children! Thank you for the updates on the app you send and the reviews of my child you send regularly. It has been great to read them. The graduation pictures and party have been such a great experience for me to take part in and for my daughter also. Thank you!

I am so impressed with this Nursery. From the minute you walk in there you will instantly feel a connection that this is the place for your child.
Managers/ staff are very very present with friendly and warm personalities so genuine and honest. You really feel at ease that your child WILL be looked
after and shown love yet in very professional environment (a perfect balance). It feels like its not just a job for them. Every staff member and I mean every staff member, seems to give 100% with a passion to make a positive impact on the children in their care .
My two year old has only been attending since April and she absolutely loves it. Communication is brilliant! and the general way everything is run facilities, activities, games etc...
There is honestly nothing I can fault just "keep up the good work".
Exactly what every parent would expect and be willing to pay for... and a place they would sincerely be at ease to leave their child. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED WOULD BE AN UNDER STATEMENT. :-)

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.336)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.336) out of 10 for Chestnut Nursery Schools @ Markyate Road is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.3 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.988 for Chestnut Nursery Schools @ Markyate Road is calculated as follows: ( (82 Excellents x 5) + (1 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 83 Ratings = 4.988
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.348 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Chestnut Nursery Schools @ Markyate Road is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 54 number of registered child places is 10.8. 7 Positive Reviews ÷ 10.8 = 0.648
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
