EDG is a wonderful setting. The staff are warm, engaging and so caring towards the children. The management are dedicated and are very connected with the children and concerned for their well-being. We are so grateful to them for taking such good care of our daughter.

We only have positive things to say about EDG and our son is so happy to be there.
We were immediately struck by how caring and attentive the staff are and by the positive and warm learning environment that has been created within the nursery. Being first-time parents when he joined, it was such a
relief knowing that our child is in such safe hands and being well looked after. The management are always friendly and happy to talk through any issues parents might have and, given the regular updates we get on our son's development, feel active partners in his learning. During the covid-19 pandemic, the nursery went out of their way to be open and supportive, and we're so grateful for the willingness of all the nursery staff to get EDG open and running again as quickly and safely as possible. We already have our new daughter down to join nursery soon, which is probably the highest praise we can give to them!

My son has been attending the nursery for almost 2 years now and he has been very happy here. Despite some of the issues with previous management and Ofsted rating, we have never had any concerns with the care my son has been given. The current staff are amazing and positive changes of new management
in introductory science-based educational exercises has been great. The feel given is fresh and healthy. My son loves the outsourced tennis coach on Wednesdays. All the other children at the nursery are lovely and my son has a great mix of friends there.

We sent our daughter here for 4 months and have only taken her out because we left London. The staff are all really friendly and nice and genuinely care for the children and are always reassuring. They also made drop off and pick up a dream by spending time with us to exchange information and give updates.
My daughter, in a really short time frame, bonded with staff and was quite happy!

My daughter joined the nursery in September and has settled in wonderfully. The staff are caring, enthusiastic and she receives very personalised attention. She thoroughly enjoys herself there and experiences may new activities but most important of all to me is the caring and friendly atmosphere.

My daughter really enjoys her time at nursery. I find the staff to be very caring, nurturing and really love the children they look after.
The activities and resources are excellent and the children at the nursery are lovely. The outside facilities are particularly good, especially for London.

My son was in the preschool room from October 2016 until he started school in September 2017. My daughter is now in the preschool room, having also been at the nursery since October 2016. I have seen a lot of change at the nursery and understand the less favourable feedback but must say the new manager
is making significant and very visible changes for the better. Much more of a true child-led curriculum, play with natural materials, messy play, more natural play in the garden. Previous issues have been I think with management knowledge and direction, and definitely not with the attention and care of the staff in the rooms. I've always found staff lovely, especially in the preschool room. My children have been happy at Le Nid.

Our son has been with Le Nid since September 2016. Overall we are very happy with the nursery. Our son has developed very well and learnt a lot from the carers and other children.
They have a great outdoor area, good rooms and organic meals.
We were a bit concerned about high staff turnover, but to
our knowledge, the management is working on this.
We will be sending our eleven month old daughter to this nursery soon.

We have had a mixed experience with Le Nid Childcare.

On the one hand, our child seems very happy there. The nursery has a nice garden and there is a lot of time devoted to free play. Some staff are absolutely excellent. However, there is much room for improvement. The nursery has seen very high

staff turnover and some staff are struggling with EYFS. The change in management has been for the best and we are hoping that the nursery is on it's way to getting better.

My son has been in attendance at Le Nid Childcare for almost 2 years and I couldn't be happier. It provides a nurturing and safe environment for the children. All the teachers have been wonderful and I feel that my little one has been thriving there. The building is lovely and they organise plenty of
extra activities such music classes, tennis and Spanish lessons. The management is always keen on listening to parents and they take on board their advice. I cannot praise Le Nid Childcare highly enough.

My child has attended for 5 months and I continue to be very impressed by the nursery and in particular the dedicated and passionate staff. Everyone from the receptionist onwards is welcoming and seem to be professional and yet relaxed.

I have not experienced such a welcoming atmosphere in any other

nurseries,

It is a bright and open building, children make great use of the large outdoor space.

I hope owners and management make efforts to keep staff happy, support them and recruit more people. Happy staff, equally happy children.

Overall facilities are excellent but worth asking staff what new equipment, toys or improvements needed now.

Regular posting up on the reception and room walls of the children's latest materials and learning goals would help busy parents quickly and easily grasp all the wonderful things the children seem to be doing and improve decor.

There is a fantastic app with photos and very informative newsletter.

A great place to be and to visit.

My son loves nursery so I'm happy. He is learning Chinese and French and knows his colours. He is trying a variety of foods I do not cook at home which is good. I have another daughter who I am more than happy to start in September.

My daughter began here just over a month ago and has had a wonderful experience so far. She absolutely loves coming to nursery and the setting and staff are fantastic. I was worried about how she would settle as she has difficulties with new people, but she settled very quickly. The staff were extremely
caring and she's always kept busy and entertained.

My son has been attending the nursery since it opened and I have nothing but positive things to say, in particular and what has prompted me to take the time to write this review is the excellent care staff provided for my son who was very unwell. I was phoned by the manager and advised my son had a
temperature of 40C. She had already given him Calpol before calling me, I am a GP so this was absolutely the right thing to do, and had started to cool him with flannels. I work quite far away so advised them to cool my son in a cold bath and really encourage him to drink water. When I arrived I walked in to see him being fanned by the practitioner, he was calm and had a temp of 37C - he had clearly been very well cared for. I was so pleased and felt reassured that all staff REALLY cared and they even called twice the next day to check how he was doing! the deputy manager suggested taking one of the guinea pigs out of the hutch to cheer him up with!

We moved to the area in January and we were very lucky to find Le Nid, and are very pleased with everything we have seen so far. All our other local nurseries were full with long waiting lists but fortunately there was space at Le Nid. The nursery is big, in a grand old house with high ceilings, large
windows and everything has been newly refurbished. The outside area has lots of activities to keep the children occupied. The food appears to be very good, and mostly organic. There are lots of activities during the day time and they also make trips out when there is some winter sun. Staff are all very good, extremely attentive and care for the children. The staff ratio is almost too good, as we worry he is getting too much attention(!), but this is changing as more and more parents discover the nursery and numbers are steadily increasing. There are lots of books, puzzles and they even arrange language classes and music sessions. Strongly recommended.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.548)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.548) out of 10 for EDG Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 15 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 15 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.858 for EDG Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (153 Excellents x 5) + (21 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 176 Ratings = 4.858
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.69 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for EDG Nursery is based on 15 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.875
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 92 number of registered child places is 18.4. 15 Positive Reviews ÷ 18.4 = 0.815
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2016

Özlem is currently on maternity leave and is expected to return in May 2026. During her absence, the nursery continues to be led by the experienced management team, working closely with the directors to ensure continuity, consistency, and the high standards families expect from EDG Nursery.

Merhaba (hello in Turkish), my name is Özlem Ocak. I joined EDG Nursery in September 2016 as an Early Years Educator and have since progressed through a range of roles within the early years sector.

After graduating from the University of Greenwich, I discovered my passion for early years practice while working in a nursery setting and have remained committed to the sector ever since. My experience includes working as a classroom educator, Room Leader, Floor Manager, and Nursery Assistant/Deputy Manager.

I am also the Special Educational Needs and Disability Coordinator (SENDCo) for the setting, supporting children, educators, and families through close partnership working and liaison with external professionals.

A study visit to Reggio Emilia, Italy, in 2019 greatly influenced my practice and strengthened my belief in child-led learning and the importance of supervised risk-taking. I focus on developing skills rather than directing how children should play, valuing the learning that naturally emerges through exploration and curiosity.

I believe children thrive when they are given the space to try, build confidence, and learn through the process, not just the outcome. At EDG, we work together as a community to Educate, Develop, and Grow.
