It is currently our 3rd child that is going through the EDG nursery and we are once again very happy with the team, facilities and general care that she is given. The fact that we know that she is truly cared for and is happy trumps any of the more flashy facilities which some nursery schools have.
We know the staff care and management are at hand to address any concerns we have. I would fully and whole heartedly recommend EDG for any parent.

Our youngest is now at EDG and our oldest graduated from their preschool a few years ago. We could not be happier with our nursery choice. Both our kids have loved their time at EDG, and our oldest loves coming back every day to see the staff when we pick up her sister. The staff are so caring and take
a genuine interest in the welfare of the children. They seem to truly love their jobs and have fun. Meals are cooked in-house and seem balanced and nutritious. The kids are constantly entertained and spend lots of time in the garden. Every single life stage - naps and transitions, learning to walk and talk, potty training, preparing for primary school - have been handled with such empathy and care. Management are always visible and very responsive. And most importantly, our kids absolutely love the staff. Nothing is more important than being able to leave them with people you trust and with whom they are happy.
Reply from Carlene Facey, Quality & Compliance Manager at EDG NurseryThank you so much for your thoughtful review and for trusting us with both of your children over the years. It means so much to hear that your family has felt supported through every stage of their journey with us.

We are incredibly proud of our team and grateful for the trust you place in us each day. Knowing your children are happy and feel well looked after is a great compliment to receive.

My two children have had wonderful experiences of attending EDG nursery spanning the last 6 years. The staff are warm and caring, and we've found the management team to be responsible and responsive to feedback. The nursery offers a great range of extra-curricular activities and cultural celebrations
throughout the year. The children spend lots of time in the garden too with occasional trips outside the nursery.

Exceptionally nurturing nursery. Lots of extra enrichment activities, particularly for older children, which prepare them well for the transition to school (phonics, show and tell, tennis, yoga). Fantastic staff especially (in our experience) for the older children. Stands out for the extent to which
family are welcomed in and involved, daily (dropping off and picking up from classrooms) and through parents evenings and special events. Management and reception staff are always available and helpful, seeking to offer flexibility as much as possible. Communication is good. Recent changes to management have been handled smoothly and some great new changes implemented to improve the space for younger children.

We have two children at EDG and couldn't be happier with how they are cared for and supported by the staff.
They have recently made great efforts to relocate the baby floor to a brighter space. They provide a range of external activities which the kids really enjoy including yoga, tennis, phonics,
sensory. They take an active interest in each child and support them where they show a particular interest in something.
EDG is a happy and welcoming environment that seeks to help the children learn and grow whilst having fun. Would highly recommend.

My 2 children each spent 3 years at EDG nursery and I couldn't be more grateful they spent them there. They learnt so much (motor skills, emotional skills, social skills), were so well cared for (or should I say loved!), and made great friendships. The nursery staff (each and every single one of them)
has been amazing and the whole family will miss them dearly. One can feel the family spirit of EDG from day one. Your child/children will be great there.

We have been really happy with EDG Nursery for both of our children and are very sad to be saying goodbye for the last time! The staff have been all amazing, they really care and have such warmth for the children. Despite having to deal with lots of challenges (covid etc) they have always tried to manage
and deal with the needs of the kids first. They are open to feedback and deal well with parent input.

EDG is a wonderful, nurturing and creative environment. We have found the staff to be dedicated and invested in the emotional welfare and academic development of each child individually. They treat the children - and their parents -with care, attention and respect and go over and beyond to encourage,
develop and help children to enjoy their time at nursery. Everyone is so friendly and accommodating and nothing is too onerous for any member of staff!

EDG is such a friendly and welcoming nursery. All staff from management to floor staff are great at getting to know your children and put so much effort into making the nursery a caring and fun place to be. The staff are good at listening to feedback and making changes when needed.
The rooms are clean
and have lots of different things for the children to play with and different activities for them to do each day. The children are encouraged to be independent (when age appropriate) and they also do classes such as yoga, gymnastics and phonics which both my children have loved. The outside space is also a great area and is used by the children every day.
The staff put in so much effort with special occasions to bring all the families together such as a summer party and Christmas celebrations.
I have had a really positive experience with both my children.

EDG is a wonderful nursery. Our children have been cared for and educated by a fantastic group of people who have consistently impressed me with their good humour and thoughtfulness. Every person I’ve interacted with, from the reception desk, through each room and including managers, has been great.
I have recommended EDG to friends and would do so to anyone. The parent community has been another huge plus - lots of caring and fun people.

My son started EDG when he was 10 months old and we couldn’t be happier with our choice of nursery. Every team member is welcoming and kind, so warm and caring. They also do fab extra activities like a Mother’s Day afternoon tea. My son and I had such a lovely time. Was so nice to see him in interacting
with everyone and I was really able to see how settled and happy he was. There was so much thought that had gone into each aspect of the afternoon, I really wasn't expecting it, I can't even imagine how much everyone has going on each day so to add this to their to-do list I was very grateful.

My eldest attended and now my second child attends EDG. My children enjoyed it here and all the staff know them all by name, including my eldest who has left the nursery now for 2 years. It's lovely to enter and have everyone they pass by say hi to them. There has been a high turnover of staff recently
and perhaps the newer staff are not as engaging initially with the kids but that has always settled. Would highly recommend EDG, they have various family-focused events throughout the year and maintain close communication with parents. All the staff has gone above and beyond for my kids and I cannot thank them enough.

We are very happy with the EDG Nursery. All our three children went there (our youngest started at the end of 2023). The nursery provides a loving and caring environment, where children can learn and gain new experiences. The space is very well-presented, and the children enjoy both indoor and outdoor
areas. We also appreciate the detailed daily feedback we receive from the nursery. The management and carers are always open to discussing any issues. The nursery also greatly supported us with our middle child's speech challenges. We also appreciate the effort that staff puts into organising various celebrations for children and parents to enjoy.

EDG Nursery is a really family-oriented nursery. They’re hugely passionate about the children and work hard to provide the best environment. Classrooms are clean and well-presented, full of educational prompts and interesting things, with children’s art and crafts on the walls. They have a great app
for regular updates and staff are friendly and helpful and take the time to know both parents and children on a personal level. There are regular events and celebrations for things such as for Mother’s Day, Black History Month, Chinese New Year, Eid al-Fitr or Christmas. They also have weekly visits from external partners, such as yoga classes or gymnastics in the summer. We’re so glad we are at EDG, our daughter loves it and our son will be joining when I go back to work from maternity!

We have had two children go through EDG Nursery and have absolutely loved both experiences.
I can’t even begin to explain how much the staff genuinely care for and love the children, making them feel so welcome and us, as parents, feel so secure leaving our children in their care. It’s the small things,
like they always play music - because it’s been proven that this helps with their development - all the way through to the warm atmosphere, the diversity of activities and care and attention.

EDG Nursery was a fabulous setting for our daughter who was there from 10 months of age. She adored going to the nursery and made strong connections with all the staff. EDG is a very warm, welcoming and caring nursery and we were always confident that our daughter was being well looked after. The facilities
are good, particularly the outside space which can be used all year round regardless of weather though the downstairs rooms could do with a little more natural light. All staff put in exceptional effort including the lovely reception staff and it was a pleasure interacting with them every day. There were lots of changes at the nursery whilst our daughter was there and under new management the nursery is going from strength to strength. Communications/systems could still be improved a little but these are minor points and we would very much recommend EDG.

EDG is a lovely setting for the children - staff are great with the children in all the rooms and they build a good relationship with parents. The reception staff are fantastic too. The nursery has good facilities including a garden and an art room, and has a really nice focus on child led play and

Beautiful nursery who have welcomed us from the start of viewing. Lots of space and a large garden. Activities allow my son to play freely and learn. Rooms are light and airy and well set up for a child's development. One attraction of the nursery was the yoga and French they offer. Also pre-Covid they
arranged outdoor trips and external visitors frequently - we hope that this can be restored in due course. Staff all friendly, welcoming and fill us with confidence. Management supportive and understanding over the Covid time. Our son loves it at EDG and we are very happy we chose it.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.548)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.548) out of 10 for EDG Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 15 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 15 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.858 for EDG Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (153 Excellents x 5) + (21 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 176 Ratings = 4.858
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.69 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for EDG Nursery is based on 15 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.875
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 92 number of registered child places is 18.4. 15 Positive Reviews ÷ 18.4 = 0.815
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2016

Özlem is currently on maternity leave and is expected to return in May 2026. During her absence, the nursery continues to be led by the experienced management team, working closely with the directors to ensure continuity, consistency, and the high standards families expect from EDG Nursery.

Merhaba (hello in Turkish), my name is Özlem Ocak. I joined EDG Nursery in September 2016 as an Early Years Educator and have since progressed through a range of roles within the early years sector.

After graduating from the University of Greenwich, I discovered my passion for early years practice while working in a nursery setting and have remained committed to the sector ever since. My experience includes working as a classroom educator, Room Leader, Floor Manager, and Nursery Assistant/Deputy Manager.

I am also the Special Educational Needs and Disability Coordinator (SENDCo) for the setting, supporting children, educators, and families through close partnership working and liaison with external professionals.

A study visit to Reggio Emilia, Italy, in 2019 greatly influenced my practice and strengthened my belief in child-led learning and the importance of supervised risk-taking. I focus on developing skills rather than directing how children should play, valuing the learning that naturally emerges through exploration and curiosity.

I believe children thrive when they are given the space to try, build confidence, and learn through the process, not just the outcome. At EDG, we work together as a community to Educate, Develop, and Grow.

I hold a Level 7 Master’s degree in Early Years, alongside a Level 3 Award in Education and Training. I am also a qualified SENDCo, Level 6 Sleep Practitioner and Early Years Consultant, enabling me to support both children and families with a holistic, evidence-informed approach.

At EDG, I work in close partnership with the directors, leadership team, educators, and families to ensure practice remains reflective, inclusive, and responsive with children’s wellbeing, development, and rights at the heart of everything we do.
