Greenwood Nursery has developed their own philosophy based on six core principles: Child-led learning, Holistic learning, Outdoor learning, Community, Environment and Nutrition. By incorporating these six principles throughout, the nursery will be providing the best possible start to a child’s educational journey.

The nursery prides itself in ensuring children are physically active throughout the day and fed nutritious meals with only organic and free-range ingredients used.

The nursery has an onsite kitchen and chef using ingredients from the local community including Mr Brown's Butcher, Sandys Fishmonger and Cooper & Sons green grocers.

Greenwood Nursery is blessed with numerous parks all within walking distance, including Holly Road playground, Jubilee Gardens, Marble Hill Park, York House, Orleans Gallery and Radnor Gardens which are visited both morning and afternoon. The older children also visit the Ham Lands twice a week for forest school.      

The children are further integrated into the community with weekly trips to the local library, performances at St Mary's Church and partnering with Lynde House Care home to do weekly intergenerational learning sessions.

The nursery offers extracurricular activities every day all included in the price. On Mondays they do yoga, on Tuesdays they do tennis, on Wednesdays they have sport and music, on Thursdays they have drama and on Friday they have dance. Children aged 12-18 months also do baby boogie on a Friday.

The children also go on trips twice a term and also during the holidays. Recent trips include the London aquarium, the London Eye, Natural History Museum, Garson's Farm and Teddington Farm. All trips are included in the price and parents are welcome to join too!

Annie’s Nest is simply amazing. Our daughter has such a brilliant time, learns so much and has made friends I hope she keeps for a very long time. The staff are super - their passion is incredible. Love, love, love Annie’s Nest!

Home away from home, loving, caring, safe and attentive staff. Always go out of their way to accommodate parent needs and my child loves attending nursery thanks to the staff and the atmosphere created.

My son has been attending Annie’s Nest since he was two. When he first joined the nursery, English was his second language. He is now a very confident, little English speaking chatterbox, who made many lovely friends at the nursery. He has had many memorable and fun days. The teachers and the management
have been very caring and inspiring him with lots of creative and enjoyable activities. I couldn’t have asked for more!

My son has been going to Annie’s Nest since he was one, so six months in, the staff are amazing with the children; the majority are university educated or have child learning qualifications. I love the international feel of this nursery, they employ a lot of Spanish speaking staff so the kids can also
pick up a second language. The detail in the daily diary is amazing, it’s a fantastic app. The staff while always busy look happy and that to me is the first sign I look for. They have a packed day with loads of activities but also lots of fun times outdoors.

I cannot recommend this nursery enough! The management and staff who work here are so completely wonderful. Both of our children have gone to Annie’s Nest and it has been the most beautifully nurturing environment. Our second child will be starting school soon and we will be keeping in touch with everyone!

Our son has been at Annie's Nest for 1.5 years, and we can not recommend it highly enough. We looked at 4 nurseries in Twickenham but chose Annie's. The staff are caring, friendly and genuinely love their jobs.
There is a much more favourable teacher-to-child ratio than offered at other nurseries
we saw, and the extra attention has really helped in our son learning and enjoying the environment. We are amazed at what he learns every week!
Every day we receive an online 'diary' and pictures of what he did, and most importantly, the children are taken out for fresh air and to local playgrounds in Twickenham every day. Our son loves going to nursery so we are very happy with Annie's Nest!

Annie's Nest has been a wonderful experience for our family especially our son who loves it!!! It's a shame we relocated but this nursery is simply the best. The staff are extremely kind and friendly. They always have happy, welcoming and smiling faces. They are very good with the children and my son
always used to look forward to going to Annie's, even wanted to go at the weekends!! My son developed immensely in the short time that he was there. From a really shy baby, he became very confident and suddenly he can't stop talking. Thank you to all the staff at Annie's, who are very dedicated and caring. Keep up the good work, I can't praise you enough!!

Wow. What a place. Our first son spent 3.5 years here and we were incredibly sad when it was time to leave. Our second son is here now and also loving it so we are very happy. The kindest, most caring, bright, lovely, warm, thoughtful bunch of people. We only have amazing things to say about Annie's

I can't recommend Annie's Nest highly enough. What a wonderful, loving environment, with an unmatched small-group, teacher-per-child ratio and a carefully considered, structured approach to learning and development, done in a really fun way. Everyone who works there is just lovely. This review sounds
overly gushy, but that is because Annie's Nest really is something special. So glad we found it, and very sad our daughter is leaving.

I cannot say enough good things about Annie’s Nest. It has been one of the best things we as a family experienced in London, as it is so crucial where your children are during the long hours of the day when you are at work. The children are well cared for and loved by the wonderful staff that the owners
spend so much time to make sure they are the best in the business.
Things we love about Annie’s:
1. The staff love being with children.
2. They go outside every day and play.
3. It feels like you are dropping your kids off at a relative’s home to watch them, instead of a nursery.
4. They teach your children so they are ready for Reception. The kids even learn Spanish!
5. We also received photos and news about our kids every day after work.


We no longer live in London, but by far Annie’s was something we will always hold close to your hearts as it really gave us comfort knowing they were at such a wonderful place in those crucial years. You simply will not find better.

Edward Prior

Job Title: Director Joined: 2020

Before launching Greenwood, Edward gained over 6 years’ experience in the early years sector where he achieved both his NVQ level 3 qualification in Childcare and level 5 qualification in Nursery Management.


In 2018 he set up Greenwood Nursery School in Wandsworth and in 2020 he took over Annie's Nest nursery which relaunched as Greenwood Twickenham in November 2021
