Greenwood Nursery has developed their own philosophy based on six core principles: Child-led learning, Holistic learning, Outdoor learning, Community, Environment and Nutrition. By incorporating these six principles throughout, the nursery will be providing the best possible start to a child’s educational journey.

The nursery prides itself in ensuring children are physically active throughout the day and fed nutritious meals with only organic and free-range ingredients used.

The nursery has an onsite kitchen and chef using ingredients from the local community including Mr Brown's Butcher, Sandys Fishmonger and Cooper & Sons green grocers.

Greenwood Nursery is blessed with numerous parks all within walking distance, including Holly Road playground, Jubilee Gardens, Marble Hill Park, York House, Orleans Gallery and Radnor Gardens which are visited both morning and afternoon. The older children also visit the Ham Lands twice a week for forest school.

The children are further integrated into the community with weekly trips to the local library, performances at St Mary's Church and partnering with Lynde House Care home to do weekly intergenerational learning sessions.

The nursery offers extracurricular activities every day all included in the price. On Mondays they do yoga, on Tuesdays they do tennis, on Wednesdays they have sport and music, on Thursdays they have drama and on Friday they have dance. Children aged 12-18 months also do baby boogie on a Friday.

The children also go on trips twice a term and also during the holidays. Recent trips include the London aquarium, the London Eye, Natural History Museum, Garson's Farm and Teddington Farm. All trips are included in the price and parents are welcome to join too!

We had a fantastic experience at Greenwood Nursery. After coming from another nursery with a past abuse case, trusting a new setting wasn't easy, and at first we weren't convinced by the two-building layout. But it turned out to work perfectly. The staff are amazing: great handovers, lots of updates
on the app, and our child was always happy to go and loved everyone there. They do so many activities, including regular outings and heartwarming visits to a care home. They also go to the playground twice a day. On his last day, our son came home with a full bag of crafts.
What we miss the most is the transparency parents can walk in at pick up and see what the children are doing, which gave us real peace of mind. Other nurseries feel much more closed off in comparison. Greenwood is, for us, the best nursery in town.
We'd give it 10/10. Highly recommended!

My son attends Greenwood Nursery in Twickenham, and we couldn't be happier with the care he receives. The staff are truly wonderful warm, patient, and always attentive to the children's individual needs. From the very first day, my son settled in quickly because the team made him feel safe, welcomed,
and supported.
Communication with parents is excellent. They always keep me informed about his day, his progress, and anything he might need. I can see how much effort they put into planning activities, encouraging learning, and helping the children grow in confidence.
The environment is clean, well-organised, and full of stimulating toys and learning opportunities. My son comes home excited, happy, and talking about what he did at nursery, which as a parent is the best feeling.
Greenwood Nursery genuinely cares about the children, and it shows in everything they do. I'm grateful for their support and the positive impact they've had on my son. I would highly recommend this nursery to

The staff are brilliant, caring and knowledgeable. Children are encouraged to explore, learn, walk, have a love of reading, become curious, to help in the classroom and care for friends. The children do an extracurricular activity everyday, from dance to live guitar with Music Ed. I love that they get
to interact with different classrooms and age groups.
The management are responsive, caring and flexible.
If you want outside play for your child, this is the nursery for you. They don't have a concrete courtyard- but they do bring the outside in by doing gardening, they have a soft play in the nursery room, they go to forest school, visits to ham lands and do trips outside everyday.
The curriculum is based on countries and has child-led elements which has helped my daughter to understand the world around her. Each subject - maths , science, art links to the central topic.
10/10 recommend. I have zero mum-guilt about sending my 3y old here and can't wait for my 7 month old to start!

Our son has been at Greenwood for nearly a year and it's been absolutely brilliant. The staff in both the younger baby room and next class up, which he is now in, have all been amazing. We've seen his speech and skills develop an incredible amount since he's been there, and we're always amazed when
he comes home with new words and expressions. They are so caring and seem to have a genuine intrerest in every child. The updates during the day are so reassuring and it's such a comfort to know he's having a great day and is eating and napping well too! He's always so happy when he arrives in the morning and we couldn't recommed Greenwood highly enough. So creative, safe, fun and just a lovely place to be.

My son started at Greenwood in September, and I am absolutely overjoyed with the care and support he's receiving. The fact that he often doesn't want to leave when I pick him up is a true testament to how much he loves it there!
I really appreciate the daily photo updates, which let me see everything
he's been up to each day.
All the staff are wonderfully caring and nurturing. When I drop him off in the morning, I know he's being loved and well looked after-and that's all I could ever ask for.
Overall, a wonderful little nursery.

We've had such a great experience with Greenwood Nursery Twickenham. The staff are always warm, caring, and genuinely interested in the children's wellbeing. My child has grown so much in confidence and happiness since joining, and it's clear how much effort the team puts into creating a fun, safe,
and nurturing environment.

Communication is always clear, and the activities are thoughtful and engaging. It really feels like a home-from-home nursery. We're very grateful for everything the team does - highly recommend!

My daughter has been coming to greenwood since June and she absolutely loves it! They were amazing from the start with the settling in and even a home visit from the key worker to make you feel as comfortable as possible. The staff are so genuine and caring and they do so much with the kids each day
from outings to parks, day trips to the theatre, messy play and organised activities.
We get multiple picture updates each day to see what they have been up to and always think there is so much fun to be had for the kids there. We have now increased our daughter to going three days a week as she loved it so much and even though we now live nearly half hour walk away we still send her to greenwood as we couldn't imagine her having such a good experience somewhere else!
The nursery owner is also brilliant and if you have any issues or questions on anything he goes out of his way to help

We couldn't be happier with our experience at Greenwood Twickenham. The atmosphere is just warm and joyful. The staff are not only professional but genuinely caring, smiley, and full of enthusiasm. You can see they absolutely love what they do, and that positive energy flows directly to the children
that are consistently happy, engaged, and entertained with a fantastic range of activities. What truly sets this nursery apart, is their commitment to a holistic learning experience beyond the classroom walls.
We are particularly impressed by two things:
1. They go out every single day, rain or shine! This commitment to fresh air and outdoor exploration is invaluable.
2. Their curriculum is forward-thinking and incredible. The Forest School sessions are a highlight, allowing the kids to connect with nature in the most fun way! Add to it the Inter-Generational programs that are simply heartwarming. It's more than just a nursery; it's a community helping to raise happy, confident, little ones

My daughter just graduated from Greenwood having attended for 3 years, and my son is still there - currently in his second year - they have both absolutely loved Greenwood, in the whole 3 years we never once had an issue of either of them not wanting to go. They go above and beyond with exciting trips
to the London Eye and The Aquarium to name a few and the intergenerational learning - visiting a care home regularly is invaluable for their learning and socialisation, we love Greenwood and recommend it to everyone we meet! Their lack of outside space is a non issue - the amount of trips and daily walks to the local green grocers and parks etc more than make up for this and their science lessons are fab!

We have been part of the nursery for the past five years now and the experience has been amazing for both our boys! The staff have always been fantastic, kind, caring and dynamic with our children. The fact that there is no outdoor space at the nursery means that the children go outside every day to
local parks, grocery shops, forest school and more, they love it! Greenwood Nursery offers a large set of activities which gives a great exposure to our kids to learn various themes of life. We can clearly see how our boys have evolved and gained confidence thanks to this amazing nursery.

A truly wonderful nursery - for our first child we went to see so many nurseries and it stood miles above the rest. Since changing ownership it has only gotten even better. Both of our sons (1-year-old and 4-year-old) attend and absolutely love it. They have so many extracurricular activities like dance,
drama, music, swimming, tennis etc. which is all included in the fee. They spend a lot of time out and about in the local community every day and they do wonderful trips to places like London, aquariums, a palace and farms etc (all included within the fee too). The teacher to child ratio is so low that they receive genuine 1:1 development and education. Couldn’t recommend it highly enough. Come and have a look and ask to speak to some of the parents to hear it for yourself.

My girls are thriving under the great care and varied day - a perfect mix of child-led and group learning, forest school and drama, sport, music class etc. They’re immersed in the community with daily outings and support small businesses and charities. The intergenerational project with a care home
is fab!
Unlike most nurseries, they keep a small child to adult ratio at all ages with clear benefits. Our eldest started school confidently thanks to the team’s gentle nurturing across the Early Years Foundation Stage - “academic” as well as life skills and emotional development.
Communication is superb - daily insights on the app, weekly newsletter and termly parents' meetings. Parents are invited in to read and share their culture. The food is great and they love helping the chef. The team is caring, attentive, energetic and creative. Friends often see them on outings and comment on the happy kids and brilliant teachers. My girls are happy and worn out (in a good way!) after an enriching day with lots of fresh air!

The teachers truly care about and love their young charges, and that really differentiates Greenwood.
Unsurprisingly, our daughter’s development accelerated across the whole gamut since she joined the nursery. The teachers tailored their attention to meet each stage of her development, for example
encouraging and supporting her progression to the potty, which is not easy!
They have so many excellent activities such as music time, yoga, pyjama drama (theatrical storytelling), tennis, ball sports, forest school, outings on the bus e.g. to a farm, picnics, etc.
It’s a great nursery which I would recommend unreservedly.

My daughter has been at Greenwood for 1.5 years now and we could not be happier with the genuine care, love and support that the team provide for her. Since starting, our daughter has come out of her shell, developing confidence every week and thoroughly enjoying the daily activities (yoga, tennis,
music, drama, sports and dance) not to mention cooking, forest school and general activities. The staff know the children very well and we are all made to feel welcome as part of the Greenwood's family. Could not recommend it more highly.

Our eldest son went to Greenwood Nursery (previously Annie's) from age one to starting school and our daughter has similarly been going for over three years now, starts school this year, and was at the nursery when it changed from Annie's to Greenwood.
All the reasons why we chose Annie's in the first
place: very enthusiastic and engaging staff, kids who obviously love going, lots of outdoor activity time in local playgrounds and by the river, continuous planned fun activities when inside (not just sitting around letting the kids play with toys) - are still very much evident in its Greenwood incarnation.
What has been added with the transition to Greenwood is fantastic - forest school at least once a week; sports activities with dedicated teachers and equipment; music sessions; dancing lessons; pyjama drama and intergenerational learning. Not to mention the nursery now offers cooked meals - very healthy with a proper cook who teaches the children occasionally. My daughter loves going and we're jealous!

My daughter is currently at Greenwood Nursery (will be starting at school this September) and my son was here prior to starting school several years ago.
The ethos of the nursery is amazing, because there is no outdoor space at the nursery the staff take the children out every day to local parks. They
have been on trips to central London, go to the local greengrocer to buy fruit for snack time and twice a week go to the local forest schools.
The staff are exceptional and you can clearly tell that teaching at nursery level is a career for them rather than just a job. At drop off and pick up you can see the relationship that my daughter (and son previously) have built with their teachers is so different (in a good way) to friend's children at other nurseries.
I would have no reservations to recommending the nursery to others.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.626)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.626) out of 10 for Greenwood Nursery Twickenham is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 12 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 12 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.888 for Greenwood Nursery Twickenham is calculated as follows: ( (128 Excellents x 5) + (14 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 143 Ratings = 4.888
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.738 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Greenwood Nursery Twickenham is based on 12 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.8
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 64 number of registered child places is 12.8. 12 Positive Reviews ÷ 12.8 = 0.938
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
