Bright Horizons Oak Lane Day Nursery and Preschool was opened in April 2016. The nursery is just a five-minute walk from Twickenham station and is located on Oak Lane, a quiet residential road, just off the main high street.

The nursery provides a warm and nurturing environment for young children. The facilities are spacious and well-equipped, with ample room for children to play and explore. The staff at Oak Park are highly trained and experienced, and they are always attentive to the needs of each child in their care. They are dedicated to providing a safe and stimulating environment that encourages children to learn and grow. The curriculum is thoughtfully designed to meet the developmental needs of each child. From the activities and games to the learning materials and resources, everything is tailored to ensure that every child reaches their full potential.

The setting has been thoughtfully designed to meet the individual needs of your child, offering a welcoming home-from-home atmosphere which allows each child to feel relaxed and happy amongst the enthusiastic team of childcare professionals, each specifically tailored to each different age group. Each age group has access to external play areas allowing each child to play, discover and learn in a natural environment.

Bright Horizons Oak Lane Nursery and Preschool has been great to our child. They have been really flexible and given my child the best start to nursery life!
The staff are great and my child has developed a lot.
Bright Horizons could improve in places like:
Food - I know other nurseries which are
cheaper have better food options
Activities - Take the kids out of the nursery would be great. I feel this is an easy thing to do considering the green areas close by.
Value for money - this is most expensive nursery in the area

Our daughters have been at Oak Lane for over 5 years now and no matter the group have had a wonderful time and thrived in the environment. Staff are highly caring and also set great sets of activities for children to develop their skills, challenge them and have lots of fun. I also like that every group
has their dedicated outdoor space and they spend a lot of time in the garden.

We currently have our youngest child in Oak Lane and we previously had our son in the same nursery. Lovely staff, great facilities and excellent food. Looked at all the nurseries in the area and this was the best by far. Long opening hours and close to the national rail.

Our son had spent time at a previous Bright Horizons which we and he loved, so we were unsure how he would deal with the change. We needn't have worried. Oak Lane immediately made him welcome and as the months have gone by we've become more and more impressed with their offering. The carers and room
leaders are engaged, interested and kind and we trust them and feel listened to 100%. The activities they organise are fabulous. We see our son growing in knowledge and confidence and feel we made a great choice in sending him there.

My 4-year-old girl currently attends Oak Lane full time and her brother attended here prior to going to school.
I think the nursery is well run with friendly, efficient staff who are caring and go above and beyond for the kids. Communication is clear and easy and I feel like the team in each room really
knows my child and their needs.
The nursery is always clean and both my children liked the food here, they were also exposed to new foods and experiences.
The team handled the whole pandemic with care and professionalism in very difficult uncertain times.
I would recommend this nursery to others and feel both my children had a good experience here with excellent care and attention.

My daughter has really enjoyed going to nursery since she started going at the age of 1 until now at the age of 4. She has developed so much in terms of her social, writing, attention, and motor skills thanks to the activities at nursery and the friendships she has built over the years.
The staff have
always been really attentive and provided good updates on her development. My daughter clearly enjoys their company and has become quite attached to the staff even inviting them to come to play at our home and to go on holiday with us!
The food is also really good and I'm always impressed to hear about the variety of dishes she eats at nursery!

Both my son and my daughter have attended Oak Lane nursery from the age of one to four, and both absolutely loved their time there. The staff there are so brilliant, friendly and professional and give top-notch care to all the kids. I think it is a fantastic nursery run by dedicated and highly experienced
nursery managers. We are so glad we found such a great nursery in our neighbourhood and will be so sad when our daughter leaves to start school!

It was extremely hard for us to chose a nursery in the Twickenham area because there are many, but Oak Lane chose us and we have been grateful every day. We wanted a safe environment where our son could learn resilience and healthy loving boundaries, in fairness, where his voice would be listened to,
where his choices would be respected, where he could develop new friendships and become. We are happy to have found such a place, and we feel that all the amazing people working at Oak Lane are making this possible every day by working hard and genuinely caring for the little people they welcome every day with a huge smile upon their faces. Our daughter has been in Oak Lane now for 2-1/2 years and we could not be happier. I wanted to thank and acknowledge the manager and her team in particular for how they have communicated with us clearly and regularly during this very tough period of Covid-19 outbreak. The teachers there at every level
(acorns, oaks and pre-school have all captured the heart of our daughter - shes runs in every morning to see them and her friends and we already miss them all very much even though it's only been 2 weeks since she has not been able to go.

I am very happy with the care that my son receives at Oak Lane. They stimulate him each day. Each carer seems to genuinely care about him.

My daughter joined Oak Lane starting in the baby room, moving to Toddlers and now Pre-School. I love that Oak Lane is purpose-built, so children can access their own specific garden areas providing a more varied play environment. The nursery is fresh and clean feeling and feels like a positive and practical
environment for the children to enjoy.
I feel the room leaders are skilled, knowledgeable and approachable. Staff turnover is low, so my daughter has had the same key worker throughout the tenure of her time in each room, which is great for consistent feedback.
The manager and deputy do a great job with the nursery management. I appreciate the fun/innovative activities, concerts and open days they coordinate. On occasion, when I've needed to discuss changes to my daughter's care, they've listened, acted and followed up on my concerns quickly and diligently. As a result, I feel very confident my daughter is in good hands, and that her welfare and development is always top priority.

My daughter has attended Oak Lane Day Nursery Twickenham for the last 2.5 years and she loves it.
The staff are very caring and nurturing and always keep the parents updated on their child's wellbeing.
The facilities are great and she loves the fun activities staff run - Active Athletes, Hatching
the Chickens Eggs, Spanish Teacher and Bee Keeper visit.

Hi I am Sandra, I'm the Nursery manager.


I gained my NNEB in 1998 and started working for Bright Horizons in 2001 as a Nursery Nurse. Since then I have worked in a number of different settings throughout London and the South East, and have gained lots of valuable experience. I became Manager of Oak Lane January 2017, and am very proud to lead the team to provide care and education for children in such a new and well-resourced setting.


I pride myself on establishing strong partnerships with parents to ensure the nursery meets their needs and is reflective of our local community. It is a privilege to be able to work with our future generation and I am passionate about providing as many opportunities for our children to be the prime educators in their own learning.

Job Title: Deputy Manager

I started out my career over 20 years ago as a qualified Nursery Nurse. I have a broad range of experience having worked within a variety of settings from working with children in hospitals and care homes to working in a Sure Start centre. This has given me the opportunity to focus on child development and individual care at a much deeper level as well as focus on child education.


My passion for child development and education grew, which led me to become a Nursery Nurse within a private nursery school. I enjoyed the challenges, rewards and opportunities for growth. I have since been working within a nursery and preschool setting, developing experiences and my passion to work with children.


Over the years, I worked my way up to Deputy Manager, working in a community and client based nursery in this position. I am very committed to my role and love the fact that each day brings something new. I am very excited about my new role as Deputy Manager for Oak Lane Nursery, to be a part of a new opening, new team and a part of the children’s new journeys.

I started my career in childcare in 2001 gaining an NVQ Level 3 in childcare at West Thames College. I worked in a preschool at a local primary school for 11 years and then joined Bright Horizons in 2013. In 2019 I joined Oak Lane as the Room Leader in the Preschool room, joining an amazing team.
