Peekaboo Childcare (Torquay) Ltd

My little one started at Peekaboo Childcare a few months ago and he has just flourished since being there. The staff have been amazing at helping him to settle in and are incredibly nurturing and caring. I was anxious about my little boy going as he was born in lockdown so wasn’t use to be around a lot of other people who weren’t in his immediate family but he settled so quickly and he loves going. He gets excited when we pull up to the nursery and reaches for the staff to go in. We have a lot of communication so we are aware of what he is up to and we can see how much fun he is having by all the lovely photos that are shared; he does a range of lovely activities and loves his outings! We feel that Peekaboo has provided our son with an excellent start to his nursery life and we would highly recommend.

With relocating to Torbay finding the right nursery for my little boy that would meet all his needs I felt pressured. Then after finding Peekaboo Childcare I was put at ease straight away. My little boy has now been at this setting for over a year now and he’s just flourished! He has so many fabulous experiences whilst he’s there and it’s basically like his second family. To see your child excited to go nursery and basically running through the doors without looking back to say bye is a clear indication he’s loving it. Even more so, he wants to go to nursery at the weekends and he’s rather put out that he can’t go. Even throughout this pandemic, the support from the setting has been above and beyond for both child and parent. I can highly recommend this nursery setting and I know my little boy has a year left now with him going to school in September 2022 but I know he’ll be sad to be leaving when the time comes. So from the staffing, the structure and academics of this setting you certainly won’t be disappointed!

My 3 year old son started in October 2020 after a delay due to covid. He previously had settling issues at another nursery. After missing out on starting at Peekaboo Childcare due to the waiting list being full. Eventually, space opened up for him at Peekaboo Childcare and we transferred him here. From day one, he settled straight away (no phone call after half-hour to collect him), he has a speech delay so finds it difficult to communicate with other people. But amazingly Peekaboo has worked magic on him and his speech is coming on loads now. He totally loves his keyworkers. Peekaboo has taken him out to the park and local community and sing and dance for the elderly during lockdown and sending birthday cards to a dear chap who turned 100 who my son now thinks is grandad. My son is always happy to go to nursery with fun things to do especially the water and sand play. Safe to say Peekaboo is a lovely place for kids to go and learn. Couldn't recommend them enough, honestly an amazing family feeling place.

The most wonderful nursery which truly is a family in every sense of the word. The staff are all enthusiastic, kind, caring and passionate and both my children are incredibly happy there. The handling of covid and communication during this difficult time has been exemplary.

Would definitely recommend this nursery. Our son needed to change nurseries so we could see the difference in him from day one. He was coming home much happier than from the previous one. We could also see there is a very individual approach towards every child and we love that they spend so much time outdoors. The staff are so dedicated and friendly.

Absolutely wonderful nursery. Our child has only been here for a month and has absolutely loved it. The staff always keep us all so informed and communication is incredible. I feel 100% confident with this nursery and would always recommend a friend to this setting. So happy with the updates we see of our daughter too, so pleased.

Excellent nursery. The staff are all brilliant and very dedicated. The nursery is clean with a lovely warm atmosphere and a great stimulating outside area. Management is friendly and helpful right from the start.

I was so worried about taking my daughter to nursery, I’d seen a few different nurseries in the Torbay area but as soon as I visited Peekaboo Childcare (Torquay) Ltd I knew I’d feel she would be safe and happy there. It has a really homely feel and the staff are lovely. A year on and my daughter still comes out of nursery beaming! Couldn’t recommend enough.

I was nervous of my daughter going to nursery as she had always been very attached to me but on viewing Peekaboo Childcare (Torquay) Ltd, I fell in love with their ethos, other nurseries that I viewed seemed okay but this nursery is miles ahead. They are a family and that really stands out, my daughter went from having to be left crying and peeled off me to so confident and happy, that she doesn’t even say goodbye anymore. Her key workers are all lovely and she adores them. Covid-19 has made things different but Peekaboo Childcare (Torquay) Ltd have worked hard to make sure this doesn’t impact the children's happiness and learning. All in all, we love Peekaboo Childcare (Torquay) Ltd and I can’t believe I even considered going elsewhere.

I would recommend Peekaboo Childcare (Torquay) Ltd to prospective parents. I was looking for a nursery, they aligned closely with our gentle, parenting approach and promoting independence. Although not a Montessori nursery, some of the principles were transferred here. My son was at first quite anxious about going to nursery but they went at his pace and he now loves it there. It’s helpful there are a consistent approach from our home environment to nursery. Lots of effort to make the nursery Covid-19 safe. There are lots of play resources led by child interests and lots of real-life play activities. I have found Peekaboo Childcare (Torquay) Ltd to be very flexible and communication is good. I looked at a lot of prospective nursery settings and took a long time to chose the right nursery for my son. I am absolutely pleased and confident I have the right setting for my son.

My daughter has been with Peekaboo Childcare (Torquay) Ltd since November 2019. They have been absolutely amazing with my daughter, who has autism and have put in place visual aids from the minute she arrives at nursery to when she leaves. They have also secured her funding as well as portage to help her. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff who are friendly and professional. I would highly recommend and have recommended Peekaboo Childcare (Torquay) Ltd to my friend whose son will be starting next month.

I couldn't be happier with the care that was provided for my child. The activities were thought through and I could clearly see that they knew and understood my child. From what they needed development-wise through to know what made them smile.

My little one absolutely loves going and she always has a wonderful time. The team are so kind and attentive to the little ones, making sure they are happy, fed and having fun. A great nursery for growing minds, fun activities as well as being involved with the community. Friendly staff and a clean environment. I would recommend Peekaboo Childcare (Torquay) Ltd to anyone in search of somewhere safe to take their child and not have to worry throughout the day. A home away from home.

Each child is catered to individually this is not a one size fits all nursery.

My son has loved going to Peekaboo from day 1 (2.5 years ago) and is sad to be leaving! With the very helpful, caring and enthusiastic staff my child's progression and preparation for school has been amazing. Peekaboo is a very safe, secure and clean environment for children. I'm very happy with my choice of nursery for my son and have and will continue to recommend to anyone who's looking for childcare!

They have both thrived and made friendships that they will take with them.

Inflexible. I'm very unhappy with their service and lack of flexibility. For your information and from my experience; once you are in, they make it very difficult to make changes or change to another nursery. Therefore, I would not recommend this nursery. My advice is to consider another nursery in the area. Once I'd signed the contract, I was not allowed to make any changes what-so-ever, even a couple of days after. They didn't have a settling-in period either, so it's very hard to make a decision. I'm now tied in until my daughter starts school in September.

We love Peekaboo! I feel like my child is cared for in a safe and supportive environment. The nursery is bright and fun, and children have so many activities to choose from! The staff really took time to get to know my child and he is very happy and comfortable there. The staff are very friendly and approachable.
