Providing quality care since 1970, Jack and Jill Day Nursery is open year-round, welcoming children aged from 3 months to 5 years. Jack and Jill is a happy and caring nursery where children can flourish. By providing a positive environment with lots of engaging activities, Jack and Jill ensures that every child is happy, confident and bursting with enthusiasm; ready to take on the challenges of school life and a whole new world of learning.

Jack and Jill is located in the centre of Corfe Mullen village, just 1 mile from Broadstone and 3 miles from Wimborne and Upton. There is a carpark for drop-off and collection. The nursery was recently refurbished and is light, bright and spacious. The nursery has dedicated rooms for babies, toddlers and pre-school children.

Outdoor play and learning are particularly important at Jack and Jill and the children go outside as much as possible, whatever the weather! There are 2 gardens, playgrounds and all the children have free flow access outdoors. Both gardens offer a fantastic range of activities including digging and planting, mud kitchen, water station, sand pits, story corner, and lots of physical activities to help with their co-ordination and development such as balancing beams, trikes and ball games.

The Nursery also has a pet guinea pig (Pickles) to teach the children about caring for animals.

SEN is extremely important at Jack and Jill and the staff and SENCO are highly trained in recognising and supporting many different emerging needs. Each child is treated as an individual and will have a personal plan ensuring their unique needs are being met and allowing them to develop at their own pace.

The staff at Jack and Jill are caring, passionate and well-qualified (including paediatric first aid for all staff members). They'd love to invite you to come and look around!

I couldn't be happier with the care and support my child receives at Jack & Jill's. From day one, the staff have been incredibly helpful, warm, and genuinely caring. It's clear that they truly love what they do, and that makes all the difference. The environment is not only safe and nurturing, but also
full of fun and creativity. Each day, my child comes home excited about the new activities, stories, and games they've enjoyed. The team goes above and beyond to make learning engaging and enjoyable, which has really helped boost my child's confidence and social skills. I'm so grateful to have found such a wonderful place-it really feels like an extension of our family. I would highly recommend Jack & Jill's to any parent looking for a supportive, enriching, and fun setting for their child to grow.

Absolutely amazing nursery! I have 2 children who have been coming here for 1 1/2 years. Fantastic, kind, caring and wonderful staff, I don't have a bad thing to say about it! great activities with the children, my children always come home happy and settled, communication with parents is fantastic,
they're always comforting when needing a bit of extra support or communication too. will be sad when my children outgrow Jack and Jill's Corfe Mullen!

Wonderful nursery, the staff have really taken the time to get to know my son, he is very happy there, and we always get told about the amazing things he gets up to! The nursery is a great location and feels really homely and clean, I don't worry about him on drop off as the team are great and experienced,

My eldest son has just started school but had been at J&J for 3 years and my youngest has been there a year. They both really enjoy their time at the nursery, it is very much a home from home. The staff team are incredibly caring and they do so many different activities. It's a warm, friendly, happy
place and I wouldn't have wanted my boys to go anywhere else.

We've had nothing but good praise from our daughter about how nice everyone is here, our little one has been at J&J's since she was just over 9 months old, the staff have always been friendly and welcoming and eager to lend a hand no matter the circumstances
No qualms whatsoever if we were to decide
to have another child and take him / her here

One of the best choices we made was sending both our boys to Jack and Jills.we have been part of Jack and Jills for over 5 years and never once been let down.
They were quick to spot and question glue ear in one child(and they were right)and also to support various needs proactively and professionally.
The
kids have grown strong bonds with the staff and when i dropped them off i knew they were not only looked after but properly cared for and loved.
The staff go above and beyond and clearly love their jobs.
There are loads of different activities and they are always changing things up to keep it fresh and engaging.

My child joined Jack and Jill's at 9 months old when I returned to work. From the get go the staff were warm and friendly and took the time to get to know my son. The environment they provide is safe and fun and they provide a variety of activities every day which have enabled my child to thrive by
learning and developing new skills. The staff are professional, supportive, kind and compassionate. He has made lovely bonds with staff members and gives them the biggest smiles when he sees them coming to the door to welcome him. I have no doubt he is the most amazing nursery and could not recommend them enough, thank you Jack and Jill's for being the best!

Jack and Jill Nursery have been super supportive and after having such a good experience with our eldest going there, it was a no brainier to send our youngest daughter. They have such wonderful activities on offer, both indoor and outdoor. The communication between parents and staff is always spot
on and you always feel that they have your child's best intentions at heart. They often offer the chance for parents to come to the setting with their child to explore different activities. Would highly recommend them. :)

I cannot recommend Jack and Jill's highly enough. I have seen my daughter flourish during her time here. She is well cared for by all the staff, and she is offered a wide array of activities that aide in her learning. She always comes home happy and excited to tell me what she has been up to at 'school'.
Can't wait to see what else she learns in the coming 12 months.

My little boy has been here since 3 months old , he's absolutely thriving and his speech is amazing for a 16 month old.
I put this down to the staff .
He's never cried going in , he runs in and is excited to leave me every morning which I love !

Our oldest son went to Jack and Jill before starting school and he absolutely loved it there- so we had our youngest sons name down before he was even born! The staff are all so friendly and nurturing, they all love your kids as if they were their own, and I love knowing that if they are having a bad
day or feeling tired, they can get all the love and comfort they need from everyone that works there. The staff have so many different activities planned that no day is ever the same, I don't know how they manage to think of them all. They always plan lovely craft activities for important days such as mothers day and the kids come home with a little package they have made themselves, which is so much more special than shop bought presents. I recommend Jack and Jill to anyone who is looking for childcare in the area

Jack & Jill have been part of my children's lives for over 6 years now. They have nurtured my girls from 8months old and I cannot express how safe I feel leaving my children in their care. It's always a daunting process leaving your children, however I never had any doubts when leaving the girls. Both
girls created such special bonds with the staff, so much so we talk all about them when we're not even there or due in!
The staff are warm and welcoming, a home from home vibe is what they have created for us. The setting is perfect, with amble facilities for the children to use and explore.

Both my boys have been to Jack and Jill, my youngest still being there.
The staff are fantastic with the all the kids. My boys are happy when going in, sometimes not even looking back. They are also so excited to tell us about their day once we collect them.
Before finding Jack and Jill's my eldest
tried two other nurseries and just didn't settle. Jack and Jill is definitely the best in ours and our sons opinion and we would recommend it to everyone

Jack and Jill's is such an amazing nursery and we can't thank the team enough for all the help and support they have given our little one. Due to our little one having some complex health conditions, I was always anxious about sending him off to nursery but the team put my mind at rest from the moment
we met them all. Kind, caring, approachable people who have such a passion for their jobs! We also had some issues with speech when starting but with the teams support my little one has finally found his voice and they provided us with great activities to aid us to support him at home, along with constant communication with what he had been up to but also how well he was developing. The atmosphere is always so fun and friendly at all drop offs and pick ups and quite often I'm jealous of all the fun activities my little one gets up to (especially the ducklings)! The team form such strong bonds with all the children, it's like a second home. My little one is always excited to go to nursery!

We cannot recommend Jack and Jill's enough, all the staff are so caring and nurturing and our little girls adores it there. The activities they do everyday are amazing, this week they created a lemonade stand and the children made lemonade. Every week it's something different and the children genuinely
have so much fun but always know where to go when they need a cuddle too. Our Daugther has come on so much during her time here and we'll be sad to say goodbye in August.

Anne-Marie

Anne-Marie Carter

Job Title: Manager Joined: 1998

Anne-Marie started at Jack and Jill Preschool in 1998 and took over as manager in 2005. She has done extensive training during her years at Jack and Jill Day Nursery gaining her level 3 and then continuing on to get her Foundation degree in Early Years Education, her BA(Hons) degree in Early Years Care and Education and then continuing on to Early Years Professional Status. Anne-Marie left a long career in Electrical Engineering to come and heat up Hot Cross Buns one day with her children and has been here ever since!


Anne-Marie is committed to providing quality care and education to all children and is valued by staff, children and parents. She has also completed a Level 2 Mental Health First Aider course, to support the well-being of the practitioners and the mental health of the setting.


Outside work Anne-Marie likes to travel, read, go walking and meet up with friends and family.

Sally started at Jack and Jill Preschool in 2006, shortly after her second child started at the nursery. Sally had previously worked in hotels and as a chef when she had decided the time was right to have a big change!


She loved working with the children and became interested in helping children with more complex needs, deciding to do lots of training around Special Educational Needs and eventually took over as the Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator for the setting.


Sally took over as the Deputy Manager in 2015 and continues to champion children with Special Educational Needs becoming Dorset Inclusion Champion in 2018.


In her spare time, Sally enjoys Driving, Reading, walking and being with her family.

Candice

Candice Miller

Job Title: Nursery Assistant (Ducklings Practitioner) Joined: 2018

Candice Miller has been working at Jack and Jill Nursery since January 2018, she completed her level 2 qualification with us in that year and currently works in our baby room.


After a lot of hard work, Candice successfully completed her Level 3 qualification in 2021.

Victoria

Victoria Wainwright

Job Title: Hedgehogs Room Leader Joined: 2017

Victoria has been working for Jack and Jill Nursery for 7 years. She was the first apprentice that Jack
and Jill employed back in 2017. She is currently the Room Leader in the preschool room.


Victoria is currently studying for her Level 5 to become a Senior Early Years Practitioner.

Sarah

Sarah Paterson

Job Title: Nursery Assistant (Hedgehogs Practitioner) Joined: 2017

Sarah Paterson has been working at Jack and Jill Nursery since 2017, prior to this she worked in a local school as a Primary Teacher. Sarah currently works with the children in the preschool room. Sarah is also our Maths Champion, she ensures that maths: numbers, shapes and measurements are celebrated throughout the nursery.


This may be through activities or ensuring that maths is used in the environment in general.


She is married with three children who attended Jack and Jill’s and when she is not working she enjoys spending time with them, reading books and walking with her dog.

Lauren

Lauren Young

Job Title: Nursery Assistant (Hedgehogs Practitioner) Joined: 2018

Lauren Young has been working at Jack and Jill Nursery for five years. She is a Level 2 practitioner, currently working towards completing her Level 3 qualification. Lauren enjoys the creative side of her job, she is looking at the environmental impact of the nursery and how we can reduce our use of single-use plastics.


Outside of work, Lauren enjoys scrapbooking, jewellery making and writing fiction stories!

Beth Jameson

Job Title: Ducklings Room Leader Joined: 2019

Beth Jameson has been working at Jack and Jill Nursery since 2019. Although it feels longer she spent many staff training days here when she was younger, reading to the children and drawing pictures for them.


Beth has just completed her Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator) and is the Ducklings room leader.


In her spare time, Beth enjoys spending time with her friends and family. She has recently been enjoying a variety of sports including badminton and golf.

Beth Hand

Job Title: Nursery Assistant (Hedgehogs Practitioner) Joined: 2020

Beth Hand has been working at Jack and Jill Nursery since October 2020, she completed her Level 3 Apprenticeship with the nursery in March 2022.


She is currently working in the Hedgehogs room supporting the older children, but she has worked with each age group as part of her apprenticeship.


When she is not at work Beth loves to spend time with family and friends and travel to new places. Before joining Jack and Jill Nursery, she spent time in South-East Asia and Australia. In addition, she enjoys all Water Sports such as paddle boarding
