Busy Bees Leicester South Wigston is a converted two-storey building, located in the heart of South Wigston where there are great bus and train links into central areas which is perfect for commuters.
The nursery staff team are very passionate about what they do; many of them have been in the childcare sector all their lives. The staff are either level 3 qualified or working towards a qualification, staff have a range of other qualifications including, safeguarding, first aid at work, paediatric first aid, food hygiene. All staff are then encouraged to attend further training to develop their skills; they have a dedicated training team at head office that provides a varied training package for all staff.
The nursery was converted in March 2012 and holds 68 children, aged 3 months to 5 years.
The Bombo’s Room (Babies 0-2 years) is upstairs split over two rooms on the second floor of the building, one to sit down and eat meals in as well as get messy with various craft, baking, sand and water activities and another with a soothing natural area to settle down with a book, a black, white and red baby cosy corner, a heuristic and sensory area to touch and feel new textures plus lots of other interest-based areas to explore in.
The Bumble’s Room (Toddlers 2-3 years) is bright and airy located on the second floor of the nursery. The children have separate areas for their role play area as well as a cosy den for quiet and restful times. As well as enjoying exploring their activity climbing centre, they also have a separate room to eat their meals in, always promoting independence.
The Buzz Room (Preschool 3-5 years) room is a large and spacious room on the ground floor, designed for the children to access all interest-based areas including an adjoining craft / ICT room, a separate dining room and two large double doors which open out into the garden.

My son has always been very happy at Busy Bees. He has reached developmental milestones since being here. He has developed a great bond with his keyworker and we couldn't have asked for anyone better to care for our son.

We love Busy Bees, our daughter has been coming since she was seven months old and is soon old enough to move to the preschool room. She has made some lovely friends along the way and tells us everything she has been up to. We have also made a lovely connection with all the staff too who always have
time to talk about how our daughter has been getting on and gives us feedback.
There is always a great variety of fun activities for the kids to do and learn along the way.
Finally but definitely not least the food provided is great, my daughter tries food I’d never consider cooking for her and she loves it.

There are no words to describe how amazing the nursery is. We are together 9 months with the first daughter and I am going to put my other one over there as well as I see she very much likes the place too. Staff is lovely, very warm and friendly. Recommend it 100%

My son has attended Busy Bees at Leicester South Wigston for eighteen months and I have nothing but praise for the team. His development comes on in leaps and bounds with their engagement and activities. Hearing him sing nursery rhymes all the way through independently is a joy to hear, as is his use
of manners when playing and interacting with others. I recently had the pleasure of seeing him play with others as we waited for the nursery to open and it was clear the children were all encouraged to include each other and build relationships. We are kept up to date with his development and given tips on helping progress this at home. The health and safety welfare of the children and staff is visible and the fact they managed to convince my son to eat soup is to be applauded.

All aspects of the day nursery are fantastic.
I feel really lucky that my son is looked after by the wonderful staff who take every opportunity to make everyone welcome and well informed as to the activities of that day.

Phenomenal! Having never left my children before I was very nervous about if they would settle and cope being away from me.
Every single day my son and daughter tell me what a great time they have had. The food smells amazing.
All the staff are so lovely. I am truly grateful for my children to be

My son really enjoys going to this nursery. They know what he likes to do in the mornings to calm him down. They do it without hesitation.
They make you feel welcome and talk to you. They always tell me what my son has been doing that day and let me know if they have any concerns.
My son and his key
worker get along really well which puts me at ease, this has also helped him become friends with the key worker's other children.

My children have attended this nursery since 2014 and I cannot fault it. Staff are amazing and communicate well with each other. The staff take pride in everything they do. The kids are never short of love and attention and activities are always in place for them. One fantastic nursery and always recommend

Having to go back to work really early after having my baby Bush Babies staff made everything a lot easier.
My son loves going to nursery, never cries when I leave him and on occasions does not want to leave.

My little girl has been at Busy Bees since she was 10 months and the relationship with her key workers is essential. Her current keyworker works amazing with my daughter. The whole staff team work well and since being there our little girl is blossoming.

The nursery is well equipped with staff and resources. Staff are well-mannered, friendly and helpful. I moved to Leicester in November from Lancashire. My 2 year old daughter had to leave her nursery up north on the Friday and start her new nursery Busy Bees on the Monday having no settling in time.


The staff were extremely helpful and supportive to my daughter and she settled in instantly. Nothing

is ever to much trouble and I find them to be very accommodating. They provide daily updates on what my daughter has been doing and her progression. They work closely with me to ensure the same discipline and encouragement is carried out at nursery as at home and follow routines.


I cannot thank the staff enough for their help and support to me as a single parent.

Hi, my name is Vicky Wells and I am the Centre Director here at Busy Bees Leicester, South Wigston.


I have worked within the Early Years sector for over 20 years and have experience working with children aged 6 weeks- 5 years old. I graduated with a BA Honours Degree and Early Years Professional Status, Which has enabled me to ensure my knowledge of the sector is up to date. 


I am really proud to be a part of the Busy Bee family and here at South Wigston we have a dedicated and enthusiastic team who strive to provide the children with the best start possible. I look forward to welcoming you to our nursery.
