Mama Bear's Day Nursery & Pre-School (Totterdown)

It is a very good nursery to go to, as my son enjoys going there. He likes all the new activities. The staff are very good and helpful. If the child does not turn up at the nursery, they always ring to make sure everything is ok.

The nursery is very nice and clean. My baby got a lot of improvement since she started the nursery. All the staff are very nice. My daughter loves the food. I will recommend this nursery to family and friends.

My daughter has been coming to Mama Bear's the bush at Totterdown now since September 2022 and she absolutely loves coming to nursery, she does two days a week and we never have any tears at drop off. She practically runs in! The changes I have seen in her are amazing and all of the staff are so supportive.

Our son's main teacher and all support staff have been incredibly caring as our son adjusted to a big change of location and situation over the last four months. The updates throughout the day have been hugely welcomed, and show our son engaged in a broad range of activities, indoor and outdoor play, and mainly show the fun and warmth that is evident in the environment. He is making friends quickly and bonding with his teachers, and we are very grateful for the help and flexibility they've shown.

We have two children at Mama Bears who love their time there. The team are very engaged and supportive of the children and us as parents, taking the time to keep us up to date throughout the day via the app and also at drop-off and pick-up. We are also able to arrange a call during the day with our children's key person if there is anything we would like to discuss in more detail. The nursery provides the children with a varied range of indoor and outdoor activities which support their learning and development and they have developed lovely friendships with not only the other children but the team there too - who they talk about happily when they come home. Highly recommend.

For the last few months, Mama Bear's Totterdown has improved massively and it's an outstanding nursery. Carer and the management team are excellent and my little one loves to go to nursery to play with her teachers and friends. Excellent nursery.

Our daughter is having a great time at the nursery. Thank you for your support and encouragement, this is really helpful towards the development of imaginative skills and the learning process. We, as parents, believe that with your guidance she will become a more responsible and capable child.

We really like Mama Bears in Totterdown. The staff are very friendly, the activities they provide are exciting and the communication is brilliant. We are really happy that my son goes here and we happily recommend it to others.

My review is from the time the current manager joined, as the nursery has improved very significantly since. The manager put in place a very comprehensive improvement plan: staff attend training regularly in a variety of things, parents are informed throughout the day via the app and when picking up children of what they did in terms of playing, who their friends are, what they ate, sleep, etc. The place is clean and bright, with plenty of things to do. The communication with parents is great; they send out a monthly bulletin with learning objectives for the different rooms and suggest activities to do at home to reinforce the learning. They have a library where children can borrow books to take home. They do so many different activities like learning about dinosaurs, playing with lava and gardening. These would be very difficult to recreate at home. And most importantly, the staff really care about children, they are very friendly, and it is just such a nice place. Totally recommend.

Staff are very caring and they support children's development well. They plan lots of exciting activities which are often based on children's interests. My daughter became more independent and is able to put her coat on by herself and use the toilet independently. She loves going to the nursery and she has made great friendships there. At home, she sings lots of songs and recites stories she knows from the nursery. I would recommend this nursery to everyone!

I am very happy with the Mama Bear’s Totterdown experience. Since the start of new manager they went through a massive and positive makeover, providing outstanding childcare now. My daughter’s additional needs are constantly reviewed and the staff are doing an extremely good job to help with her development and to help with her individual needs. I am overjoyed with this place and cannot imagine a better one for my child! She is very happy in the nursery and doesn’t want to go back home at the end of the day. The communication through the app with the daily updates, photos and individual progress, as well as in person, is really good. There is a variety of activities and the general play space is well designed to suit kids’ needs. I am 100% recommending this place!

The staff care about the children at the nursery. They know them well and what support they need. There is a good range of activities provided and parents are updated regularly with photos of what their children are doing. There is good space at the nursery with large bright rooms and a good size garden with climbing equipment. There is regular communication and updates about progress your child is making. Safeguarding is good.

The staff are very informative, communication is excellent, our son has a great time and rabbits on about his day all evening. He does lots of activities and is learning new things all the time. The staff are very attentive, they know him really well and I find the whole nursery to be a bright happy environment for his early year's education and care.

We are very happy with this nursery and feel like they provide our son with excellent care. He is very happy to attend and always talks positively about the activities he completed and the staff who look after him. We feel well informed about his day to day meals/nappies. Staff are always extremely welcoming in the mornings at drop off and feedback about the day is provided at drop off.

My children look forward to attending nursery. Their friendships are nurtured and they are encouraged to explore and develop their skills. They always come home filthy, which is the sign of a good day! The staff are aware of their individual needs and are always warm and welcoming. Overall a lovely setting and I would recommend exploring this as an option for your child.

We have been really happy with Mama Bear's Day Nursery & Pre-School (Totterdown). Our son has been through all of the age-ranged rooms since babies and is now in preschool and our daughter is in babies. We have been very pleased with the approach from staff to our children’s needs, treating them as individuals with specific approaches and care for them as required. The nursery is well managed, communication with parents is good and we have been happy with the way that the nursery has approached the last year, with its unique challenges. We would recommend this nursery to others looking for a wonderful setting for their children.

I've been really impressed by how involved all the staff at the nursery are with the children. They are genuinely excited to share in each development and really invest the time to get to know the children and build meaningful relationships with them. When our daughter was in the baby room, staff from the other rooms would greet her by name if they passed us in the hall. It very much feels like a community more than a business in that sense. I also like the fact that the children have access to at least one "messy play" activity each day, even in the baby room.

My son started here in January 2021. He was moved from another nursery which was unable to provide the sessions needed. What I lovely place. The staff are wonderful and they are helpful. The app which they use to tell you everything that's happened in his day is amazing. They upload photos, videos and have written observations and they link them to the appropriate milestones. The payment system is good and easy to follow as a direct debit. My son is enjoying his time and is coming along leaps and bounds.

Amazing nursery. Great staff and facilities. My boy has been going since he was eight months and he gets so excited about going in the morning. He runs there and gives the girls a big hug and he always comes home with a smile on his face. So happy to have chosen Mama Bear's Day Nursery & Pre-School (Totterdown).
