Oak Tree Nursery is a Early Years Alliance childcare service located in Ilfracombe and offers 42 Ofsted-registered places.

The nursery offers high-quality care and learning opportunities, provided by a friendly and well-qualified team who follow the EYFS.

The nursery is open from 8am-6pm, Monday to Friday, 51 weeks of the year, excluding bank holidays and three staff training days.

Oak Tree Nursery offers a stimulating approach to early years development and learning for very young children. Within a safe, friendly and fun environment, children are supported by qualified, caring staff in developing a wide range of skills and interests.

The children enjoy learning through play experiences in bright indoor and outdoor play areas. The nursery recognises and understands the huge benefits that free flow play has on the positive development of very young children.

Every child is supported by a key person who understands their individual needs and offers special care and support to them. Rigorous health and safety and safeguarding policies and procedures are in place to ensure every child is protected and feels safe and happy.

The baby room offers babies and toddlers a home from home feel where children are safe, comfortable and supported, with access to a range of activities, resources and equipment to promote development and qualified, experienced staff who provide a friendly, personal approach to the childcare they provide.

The two to five-year-old room offers children the opportunity to develop skills for life, promoting independence. Children explore being able to cut up snack, self serve and even have a go at washing up.

The nursery prides itself on making every opportunity a learning experience, children are able to self select to develop decision making skills and practitioners use children's interests to enhance the environment, plan for activities and new experiences.

My son attends this Nursery and I couldn't be happier with the choice I made to send him here. The staff are absolutely brilliant, very welcoming and go above and beyond to educate my boy and keep him happy in his placement. It is definitely the only Nursery I would recommend for any other parent looking
for a child placement.

My daughter started at Oak Tree in September 2024. She absolutely loves nursery and is so happy and confident to make friends and talk to all the staff. She always comes home talking about her day. The staff are extremely approachable and are fantastic with all the children. Her key-workers are phenomenal
and have made an incredible relationship with my daughter and keep me informed with her progress!

My child absolutely loves attending Oaktree nursery which is an amazing review in itself as he doesn't really like leaving us. The care the staff offer is amazing, they are just so amazing with the children. He calls many of them his best friends! They provide excellent hot meals that my child loves
and keeps up his great eating habits as he is having nutritious meals. They do lots of activities depending on time of year and events coming up. I am just about to start sending my youngest and would recommend the nursery to anyone. Just go and look round, we viewed a few and you just pick up the great atmosphere of the place. Thank you all!

Choosing this nursery has been one of the best decisions we've made. The facilities are modern, clean, and thoughtfully designed, with plenty of resources to keep children engaged and learning. The outdoor play area offers a safe and stimulating space for physical activity.
The staff are exceptional
- highly skilled, attentive and genuinely caring. They take the time to understand each child's needs, making every child feel valued and supported. Our daughter settled in quickly, thanks to the nurturing environment they've created.
Communication is seamless with the app, which provides daily updates, photos and notes about our daughter's activities, meals and progress. It keeps us connected and reassured throughout the day.
The meals are well-balanced nutritious options that have even expanded our daughter's palate!
Lastly, the management team is approachable and professional, ensuring everything runs smoothly. We feel lucky to have found such a caring and outstanding nursery.

Oak Tree Nursery has looked after the majority of my nieces and nephews over the years so I decided to send my 4 children. My eldest daughter graduated from nursery a couple of years ago. My twins are currently in their last year of nursery where the staff have going above and beyond with my children
as we have a difficult time this year with the youngest child being diagnosed with cancer. The staff have been super supportive with the boys in nursery and with us as a family. My children absolutely love going to Oak Tree Nursey. The staff are worth their weight in gold.

My daughter recently started attending Oak Tree Nursery and I am so impressed.
I was so nervous for her to start but the staff immediately put me at ease.
They ensured we had plenty of settling sessions and took a lot of time to get to know her.
It’s really apparent how seriously they take the
safety and well-being of the children.
They provide all meals and snacks for the children, which helps me massively, and I know that she has eaten well when she is there.

I’ve always loved Oaktree Nursery since my firstborn attended back in 2015.
My second born started in September this year. He started off rocky, adapting to not being with me, but all the staff helped accommodate this with lots of settling in, and even made me and my baby feel very welcomed, during
my son's settling sessions.
The staff are so welcoming and warm to the kids. The care they receive is beyond amazing. They take the time to really get to know the kids and meet everyone’s individual needs.
The garden is amazing for playing and learning and a really great opportunity for the kids who don’t have their own gardens at home.
I couldn’t imagine my son going to any other nursery. Oaktree is the perfect setting. And we’re so lucky to have such an amazing nursery in this town.

Oak Tree is a fantastic nursery. My little one has been attending since the beginning of 2023 and is loving it! The volume of settling-in sessions is great; it really allows them to feel comfortable and also for you to feel comfortable sending them off to the nursery for the first time. The staff are
