9.7 Oak Tree Nursery has a Review Score of 9.7 (9.700)

The Review Score of 9.7 (maximum of 10) for Oak Tree Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 5 out of 5 from 6 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for Oak Tree Nursery in Google's Search Results - more info

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Day Nursery / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Day Nursery receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.

    The Average Rating of 4.986 for Oak Tree Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (69 Excellents x 5) + (1 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 70 Ratings = 4.986

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Day Nursery to friends and family?'

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.

    2. 1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.

    3. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.

The 4.714 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Oak Tree Nursery is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:

    1. 3 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 4

    2. Target of 8.4 positive Reviews (42 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 6 Reviews ÷ 8.4 Target = 0.714

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

I have two children that have attended Oak Tree with my youngest still coming two days a week and my wife and I have always been really pleased with the care that they have received. My eldest who is now at school in reception was always very happy there and my youngest is now beginning to really settle in and enjoy himself. The staff are always very welcoming and have made settling in as straightforward and easy as possible. I have always found the atmosphere relaxed and calm, the facilities to be well equipped and the activities to be varied and interesting for the children. Key workers in particular have been excellent, really taking the time to chat with us about our children's development and characters, giving you a real sense that they care about our children's enjoyment and fulfilment at nursery. I would highly recommend Oak Tree to other parents looking for a professional, friendly and fun environment for their children's introduction to education.

Thank you for your review of our lovely nursery. It has been a real pleasure to have both your children with us and we are glad you find the settling in period cohesive and productive. Our staff care passionately about every single child in our setting and we are really pleased that this shines through in the way we are able to provide for them during their time at Oak Tree. I will pass your comments onto the team, especially your child's keyworker.

My daughter started at Oak Tree Day Nursery in September 2016 and I have to say it was the best choice for her. The staff are incredibly friendly, professional, hardworking and passionate about what they do. They make sure that each child’s needs are catered to and nothing is too much for them.

The bond my daughter has with the staff here is amazing and she enjoys every aspect of her nursery experience. I am currently expecting another baby and will be sending him to this nursery too when he’s old enough without question! So, thank you to all the staff at Oak Tree for teaching and taking care of my daughter.

Thank you for your excellent review of Oak Tree Nursery. We enjoy having your daughter here with us, she really brightens up our day. She is a pleasure to have at nursery and she is so helpful when it comes to the younger children, helping them learn the routines of the day and assisting them in putting on coats and aprons. She'll make a great big sister - a childcare practitioner in the making perhaps? We can't wait to meet the new baby. Have a very Merry Christmas!

Simply, I cannot praise this nursery enough. The staff are so attentive and caring towards each child's individual needs and the positive impact that that has had on my daughter is amazing. Not only has her social skills come on leaps and bounds since attending the nursery but thanks to the great variety of ever-changing activities I really do feel she is being prepared in the best possible way for her next step up to big girls school. My little girl is absolutely loving her time at Oak Tree Nursery and I can't wait for my little boy to be able to have the same great experiences.

Thank you for your lovely review of our nursery! We are delighted that your daughter is so happy here and can't wait till your son is able to start with us! We are glad you love all of our activities - the team is extremely creative and work very hard to make the nursery the stimulating and enabling environment that it is, and it's very gratifying that this is noticed by parents. I'll be sure to pass your comments on. Perhaps you'll come and play one day?

I have 2 boys at Oak Tree aged 13 months and 3. Both have settled really well and love the time they spend at Oak Tree. I really like the big open plan layout with lots of light and direct access to the outside space, even in winter the kids will be outside every day. There are always new fun activities set up for the children and I like the mix of structured activities and free play. For me, I felt this was a really good option to help with the transition to school later on. Even in the baby room, there are different activities set up like sand, water play, mini slide etc. I love that Oak Tree provides properly cooked food, both my boys will eat more veg at nursery than they ever do at home! I feel they always come home well fed and cared for.

Thank you for your great review of our nursery, we so enjoy having both your boys here and watching them grow and develop. The team work hard to ensure there are lots of activities for the children to explore and investigate. I'll pass your comments on to the team and in particular to Brenda the cook. She'll be delighted!

My partner and I both adore this nursery, as do both our boys. Our 4-year-old has attended since the age of 1 and is now being prepared for school, and our 1 1/2-year-old since 11 months.
The settling in process and introduction to the nursery is gentle and all staff are warm, attentive and genuinely lovely people. Both my children have come on leaps and bounds since coming here and I appreciate everything the staff do for them. They work alongside the parents extremely well, taking opinions into consideration and asking for ideas that could be useful to the learning of the children.
Parents are also kept up to date with the progress of their children, where scrapbooks are completed to show their journey through nursery as well as their development. The food is a great standard and home cooked; it always smells so great when I go to collect the boys!
I would recommend this nursery to everyone! It has the most welcoming, friendly atmosphere and my boys love it. Thank you!!!

Thank you for your glowing review of our nursery! All staff work extremely hard to ensure we have the best possible environment for all the children in our care and we are very grateful that this is recognised. I have passed your wonderful comments on to the staff team, which caused a few misty eyes! We adore looking after your boys, both of whom have great character! We're especially glad you love the smell of our on site home cooking - perhaps come and join us for lunch one day?

This is a lovely nursery. The staff are very friendly and my daughter has settled in extremely well. They are always doing fun things for the children including the babies. Would highly recommend them to anyone. They are reasonably priced and the children get proper home cooked food.

I have worked with children since I qualified as a Nursery Nurse, gaining my award from North Devon College. I was a nanny for a year, then worked at a different nursery for nine years before moving on to work at Oak Tree, where I have gained much experience in working with different families and children over the last ten years.

I'm a very creative person so I enjoy building different areas for role play, such a vet's, a shop, a baby clinic, a hairdressers and I LOVE to create huge ice play areas for exploring colours, smells, shapes and sensations. The Hungry Caterpillar and the Winter Wonderland were my favourites!
