St George's Nursery Edinburgh

Having moved our four-year-old daughter to St George’s from the nursery she had been in since a baby, I can sincerely say, my only regret is not moving her to St George’s earlier. Our daughter settled incredibly quick and absolutely loves being there. The time and effort by staff to ensure children feel safe and welcome from day one is really lovely. Staff are truly exceptional, they get to know each child as an individual. The nursery is in such a wonderful location with fabulous outside space which the children get to enjoy daily. They have fabulous facilities and many different classes for children to partake in throughout the week, ballet, woodwork in the forest, and sing and sign to be favourites of our daughter. There is a real family feel to this nursery which seems to carry on throughout the school as a whole. Properly cooked food for snacks and lunch. Our daughter is truly having the most wonderful time at St George’s learning, having fun, and making friends. Just great.

It is just the most wonderful nursery, we couldn’t be happier with the care both of our children have had. There is a fantastic focus on outdoor play, child-orientated play, all in a very nurturing and caring environment. There is also the superb access to specialist teachers for music, dance and the weekly library visit. Other practitioners for Sing and Sign also come in, while the additional activities include cooking, beach school, yoga and regular visits to the local nursing home. It’s outstanding. Both of our children have been so happy there.

St George's Nursery has been an excellent environment for my son who is an outgoing and lively little boy. He certainly loves going there too. It is evident that the staff are committed to engaging with the children to provide them with a variety of play experiences. He is suited to outdoor play and clearly embraces getting messy as he seldom returns in the same clothes that he left wearing. My son has a dairy intolerance which has been no issue at all.

We are absolutely delighted we chose St George's Nursery for our little boy. It is such a small, warm and caring environment and all the staff are so friendly, he warmed to them all immediately. The facilities are excellent and because it is part of a school there are lots of other on-site opportunities that the Nursery take advantage of (Library, Gym Hall, etc). As parents, we feel happy and confident to drop him off in the mornings because he is so happy to be there and is still happy at the end of the day! Thank you so much to the Nursery Team.

I cannot speak highly enough of St.George's Nursery. All three of our children have attended or are currently attending. The school has got it's recruitment spot on and I can't help but be impressed by the positive attitude of the teachers and carers and the exceptionally professional approach of the organisation as a whole. The overall effect is a caring, engaging and wholesome environment for the children which is all I can ask for as a parent. Well done St.George's! Superb!

My daughter has thrived at this nursery

Quality is excellent: staff are well trained and highly motivated by a great work environment. As a choice for nursery, its only drawback is price: being attached to a school, its hours are less than pure nurseries are, but at the same price.

I am so happy that I chose St George's Nursery for my little boy - the staff really are exceptional. They provide a calm, caring and supportive environment for the children and are incredibly enthusiastic and creative in thinking up activities and themes for each term. There is an emphasis on outdoor play which I am very happy about and the children have access to a large garden area within the nursery as well as a "Fantastical Forest" and the school playing fields and grounds. There is a good balance between planned activities each day (eg music, ballet, time in the school gym) and free play within the nursery rooms. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending St George's Nursery.

St George's offers an excellent learning environment for pre-school children with a holistic and a truly child-centred approach. We are delighted with St George's Nursery.

Warm and friendly nursery with dedicated and caring teachers and staff. Every day is different with an emphasis on outdoor activities and varied learning activities and play.

The nursery is a fantastic, colourful and vibrant place. I am always very happy to leave my daughter as I know that she will be extremely stimulated and surrounded by wonderful staff and great friends. She is always offered a wide range of activities to chose from, including painting, play-doh, puzzles, books, dressing up and much more. I know that each day she will go outside and experience some outdoor learning and fresh air. The staff are extremely welcoming and kind and I could not be more happy with the nursery.

St George's Nursery is one of the best nurseries my kids went to - and with three kids and moving several times I know a lot. The care is designed to be very individual and personal between kids and teachers. This helps them settling and supports their self-confidence. Thanks for that wonderful start - we are looking forward to the next months and years.

Nothing that I have seen can even compare to the nurturing, supportive, stimulating and creative environment that exists at St George's Nursery.

My daughter is happy at the nursery and the staff are very friendly, which is helpful for new kids to settle in. Can't fault it, excellent.

We moved our daughter here from another nursery and the change has been incredible. She loves going to St George's and she has developed very quickly in one month. Staff and facilities are outstanding. Only regret was not moving to St George's sooner. Lots of other parents talk highly of the place.

We have been extremely happy with St George's Nursery - it provides an excellent transition year to school. They have distinct ballet, gym, music, library classes and my daughter was absolutely thrilled that they went on an excursion (like they do at big school!). She managed to convince herself that she was already P1 because they went to an assembly.

The outside play area is lovely; my daughter has enjoyed the woodwork. It has been interesting to hear what she has been learning in relation to literacy as well as general knowledge (nature, animals, transport). The staff are extremely nice and communicative and my daughter is very happy to go every day. Recommend without reservations.

We are on a short term stay in Edinburgh and were extremely fortunate to have our daughter at this nursery. The staff are wonderful with the standard of care, activities and facilitation very high. I would recommend the St Georges nursery to anyone interested.

Fabulous nursery. My daughter has really learned a lot and thrived here. The staff look after her with a lot of love and care and my daughter loves going.
