Banana Moon Day Nursery Baddesley Ensor

She started here at Banana Moon in June 2017, working full-time in the Pre-School group. Since then, Joann has extended her knowledge and skills through a range of in-house experiences and challenges. As part of her continued professional development, Joann has been our Room Senior of Pre-school and has just received a promotion to Deputy Manager after a successful secondment as Nursery Manager, covering Maternity Leave. Joann took Deputy Manager in her stride, using the opportunity to learn the ropes and took over as Nursery Manager. Since October 2025, Joann has furthered her position at Banana Moon Baddesley Ensor and is now the Director!

She is keen to take on new challenges and has exciting ideas for the children within her care, developing their skills before they move on to the next stage in their lives.

Joann is the Designated Safeguarding Lead at Baddesley Ensor and takes the full lead for this role, supported by the 2 other members of staff, trained by our Local Authority, Warwickshire. Read less

Emily is the Nursery Manager at Banana Moon and has always had a passion for working with children. From a young age, she knew that childcare was the career she wanted to pursue, even turning her brother into one of her pupils while playing teacher at home!

Emily studied Child Development at secondary school before going on to complete her Level 3 in Childcare and Education.

In 2012, Emily joined the Banana Moon family and has since progressed through a variety of roles, including Early Years Practitioner, Babies and Toddlers Room Leader, Preschool Room Leader, Deputy Manager and SENDCO, before becoming Nursery Manager. In 2019, she achieved a First Class Honours Bachelor's Degree in Family and Community Studies, further developing her knowledge and understanding of children, families and communities.

Emily has completed a range of additional training throughout her career, including First Aid, Safeguarding and Designated Safeguarding Lead training, as well as SENDCO and Chatter Matters training. She also enjoys keeping her knowledge and skills up to date through ongoing Banana Moon training and professional development.

After taking some time away from nursery life to run her own successful childminding business while raising her two children, Emily realised how much she missed being part of a nursery environment. She returned to Banana Moon Baddesley Ensor in July 2020 and has continued to grow within the nursery ever since.

Alongside her childcare career, Emily also runs her own soft play hire business, which she enjoys.

Emily describes Banana Moon as feeling like part of her family since 2012. She particularly enjoys being part of a team and the varied, fast-paced nature of nursery life. She believes it is important to have a balance between managing the nursery behind the scenes and spending time in the rooms with the children and team. Emily loves being hands-on, role modelling best practice, supporting her team and helping to create a happy, nurturing environment where children can thrive. Read less

Sarah joined the Banana Moon team in 2021 as a Pre-School Practitioner and Key Worker. She brought with her a wealth of experience working with pre-school-aged children, having previously worked for many years in a school-attached pre-school.

After the pre-school sadly closed in 2021 following the owner’s retirement, Sarah joined the Banana Moon team and quickly became a valued member of the setting. She built strong, positive relationships with the children in her age and key groups, as well as with their parents and families.

Since joining Banana Moon, Sarah has continued to develop her skills and experience, progressing to become Pre-School Senior and, more recently, Assistant Deputy Manager. She is also the nursery’s Wellbeing Champion, supporting the wellbeing of both the children and the wider team and helping to promote a positive, happy and supportive environment.

Sarah is Level 3 qualified and has a strong passion for supporting children through their early years. She enjoys creating a warm, caring and engaging environment where children feel confident, supported and encouraged to learn and develop.

In her role as Assistant Deputy Manager, Sarah enjoys supporting the wider team and helping to ensure the nursery continues to provide high-quality care, learning and experiences for all children. Her wealth of experience, nurturing approach and commitment to wellbeing make her a valued member of the Banana Moon team. Read less

Yvie joined the Banana Moon Baddesley team in 2021 and has developed her career within the nursery, successfully completing her Level 3 qualification through an apprenticeship carried out internally.

Yvie is now our Toddler Senior and plays an important role within the toddler team, supporting our 2–3-year-old children with their learning, development and wellbeing. As a Key Worker, she builds strong and nurturing relationships with the children in her care and works closely with their families to ensure each child feels happy, secure and supported.

Yvie uses our Learning and Development Programme to provide engaging and age-appropriate experiences, helping the children develop their confidence, independence and skills as they progress through their early years.

Having progressed from apprentice to Toddler Senior, Yvie is a great example of the opportunities available within Banana Moon. She is passionate about supporting young children and enjoys being part of their learning journey as they grow and develop. Read less

Amy is the Deputy Senior at Banana Moon and plays an important role in supporting the Senior team and helping to ensure the children receive the best possible care and learning experiences.

She has a strong focus on children’s learning and development and enjoys supporting the team to provide engaging experiences that help every child reach their full potential. Amy also plays an important role in supporting the nursery’s apprentices, helping them to develop their knowledge, skills and confidence as they progress through their childcare careers.

Amy is Level 3 qualified in Early Years and brings many years of valuable experience to her role. Her knowledge and experience make her a fantastic source of support for both the children and the wider team.

She is passionate about providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for the children and enjoys working closely with the team to ensure that learning, development and wellbeing remain at the heart of everything they do. Read less

Kim has worked in a variety of professional chef settings and thoroughly enjoys her role as Nursery Cook at Banana Moon Baddesley Ensor. She takes great pride in freshly preparing healthy, home-cooked meals each day for the children to enjoy, ensuring they have a varied and nutritious menu.

Kim also loves getting involved in cooking activities with children across all age groups. From baking cakes and biscuits to making soups, sandwiches and pies, she enjoys helping children develop an interest in food while learning new skills and having fun.

Kim is also trained in safeguarding and child protection and understands the importance of providing a safe, caring and positive environment for every child. Read less

Evie joined our team in 2021 after relocating to the local area. Evie has vast experience working with babies in her previous setting and has also been a room leader. Evie is a kind and caring individual with fun activity ideas for Under 2's to encourage interest and exploration, identifying development needs and gaps in any children within her key group and building on these. Hannah is a Level 3 qualified Early Years Practitioner who works within our Baby Room, providing a warm, caring and nurturing environment for our youngest children.

Hannah brings fresh ideas, enthusiasm and energy to the team and enjoys creating engaging experiences that encourage babies to explore, discover and develop at their own pace. She has a particular passion for creative activities and loves bringing a sense of curiosity and fun into the room.

Hannah understands the importance of building strong, trusting relationships with babies and their families and takes pride in supporting each child’s individual needs, interests and development.

She is a valued member of the Baby Room team and enjoys helping to create a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment where our youngest children can feel secure, happy and confident as they begin their early years journey. Read less

Aimee is based in our Mini Moon Room, where she enjoys supporting our youngest children as they learn, grow and develop. She is Level 2 qualified, bringing a caring and enthusiastic approach to her role.

Aimee is passionate about supporting children’s learning and development through engaging, play-based activities. She particularly enjoys arts and crafts and loves creating fun, creative experiences that encourage the children to explore their imagination, develop new skills and express themselves.

She enjoys building positive relationships with the children and creating a warm, nurturing environment where they feel happy, secure and confident to learn through play.

Aimee is a valued member of the Banana Moon team and takes pride in helping children make progress while ensuring they have lots of fun along the way. Read less

Imi has always wanted to work with children and was inspired by family members who work in the same field. Her passion for Early Years began when she received career advice at school, which encouraged her to complete her school placement within a school setting. She loved the experience and knew that working with children was the career path she wanted to follow.

After leaving school, Imi worked at The Play Barn alongside studying for her Level 2 in Childcare at college. She particularly enjoyed being part of a team and putting her energy and enthusiasm into helping to run children's party sessions.

Imi first joined Banana Moon Baddesley Ensor as a student completing one of her college placements. She enjoyed her time at the nursery so much that she went on to join the team as an Apprentice in July 2025. Since then, she has successfully completed her Level 2 qualification and is currently working towards her Level 3, which she hopes to complete by the end of the year.

Imi is based in the Baby Room, where she has built strong and meaningful bonds with the children, particularly her key children. She loves watching the children grow and develop and feels incredibly proud when they progress into the next room, knowing she has helped make their first experiences at Banana Moon happy and positive ones.

Imi has a real passion for messy play and loves getting stuck into creative and sensory activities with the children — although this does mean there may be a few extra bath nights at home! Read less

Amelia is currently in her second and final year of studying her T Level in Early Years at Tamworth College, working towards achieving her Level 3 qualification.

Amelia has always had a love for babies and children from a young age. From playing with dolls to helping care for younger family members, she always knew that she wanted a career working with children.

Amelia joined Banana Moon as a student on placement in the Baby Room, where she has enjoyed developing her knowledge and experience over the past year. She is now part of the team as Bank Staff and is excited to continue her journey at Banana Moon.

Amelia particularly enjoys working with babies and young children because she loves watching them grow and develop their own unique personalities. She finds it incredibly rewarding to see children progress from babies to toddlers and then on to pre-school, knowing that she has played a part in supporting their growth and development.

Amelia enjoys being part of the Banana Moon team and particularly values the way everyone supports one another while always putting the children first. She is passionate about providing loving care and helping to ensure every child has the best possible nursery experience. Read less

Sienna has a real passion for working with children and is building her career in Early Years. She completed her Level 2 qualification last year and is now working towards her Level 3 through an apprenticeship.

Sienna first discovered her passion for working with children during her high school work experience. She loved seeing how excited and happy the children were to see her each day, which confirmed that Early Years was the career path she wanted to pursue.

She particularly enjoys watching children reach their milestones and takes pride in building strong, positive relationships with the children and their families. She loves being part of their learning and development and seeing their confidence grow.

Since joining Banana Moon, Sienna has quickly settled into the team and has enjoyed how welcoming and supportive everyone has been. She feels this has helped her to become more comfortable and confident in her role and is excited about continuing to learn and develop alongside her new team. Read less

Natalie has a wealth of experience working with children and has had a passion for childcare for many years. After leaving college, she completed her Level 2 Childcare qualification and went on to work in a variety of nursery settings. Natalie previously worked at Banana Moon Baddesley in 2019 and is delighted to have returned to the team.

Natalie is working towards her Level 3 Childcare Apprenticeship, further developing her knowledge and skills within Early Years.

She is excited to continue her journey in childcare and looks forward to supporting children as they learn, develop and grow, while once again being part of the Banana Moon family. Read less

Frankie is currently completing her Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship and is developing her knowledge and experience as part of the Banana Moon team.

She works within our Pre-School Room, where she supports children with their learning, development and wellbeing. Frankie enjoys helping children build their confidence, independence and social skills through engaging, play-based experiences.

As she progresses through her apprenticeship, Frankie is gaining valuable hands-on experience and developing her understanding of the Early Years curriculum. She enjoys building positive relationships with the children and supporting them as they reach new milestones and prepare for their next steps.

Frankie is a caring and enthusiastic member of the team who is passionate about developing her career in Early Years and helping children learn, grow and thrive. Read less
