Amazing staff and a tailored approach to children.

Children are really well looked after with lots of activities and learning. The staff are great with enough attention dedicated to every child. Smooth transition between nursery and school.

Woodlands is a fantastic nursery that I cannot recommend enough! The facilities at Beechwood Park School are outstanding and ever since my son joined Woodlands in September 2021 I have been really impressed by how much my son's confidence has grown and how happy he is to go every day! The teachers are caring, knowledgeable and attentive and they manage to engage the children through different experiential activities which capture their interests.

My child is extremely happy with Woodlands. The teachers are so caring and manage to educate them on complex topics through imaginary play. We have been so lucky to have our child as part of Woodlands magic!

We have been delighted with Beechwood since the first day our son started attending the nursery. From the staff to the facilities you really couldn't ask more from a nursery. Given the circumstances with Covid, the nursery and more specifically, the staff really shone through, providing a huge amount of material online to help keep the children entertained during some tough times. We are looking forward to our daughter attending next year as well. Thank you to all the staff who have looked after and helped develop our son over the last 12 months.

Our first two children have gone through Woodlands and we will definitely be putting our third through this nursery, when she's old enough. Woodlands is an outstanding nursery: the setting in the middle of the Chilterns is incredible, surrounded by forest and fresh air and plenty of nature activities on offer. The staff are the best I've ever seen at a nursery, they really get to know each individual child and tailor activities to their needs and interests. The approach to each day seems to perfectly combine fun and learning and scales as the children get a bit older and more capable. I couldn't recommend Woodlands more highly, a massive step up from all the other nurseries we have used. Both our children cried when we told them they had to leave and go to proper school.

My daughter had been at another nursery, prior to Woodlands and the effect that the change in nurseries had on her was remarkable, in the most positive way. During her time at Woodlands, she really blossomed from a child who was shy with her peers, to a very confident little girl. And what an amazing environment to learn in. With lots of creative activities and the beautiful woodlands/forest school right outside the door. All the staff are wonderful and my daughter developed a very special bond with her teacher.

Woodlands Nursery (at Beechwood Park School) is in a completely different class from all other nurseries I know or have used. I have three children - my eldest two absolutely thrived at Woodlands, and I can't wait until my youngest is old enough to attend. The staff are fantastic. The care, enthusiasm, (fun) rounded learning, and readying for school that the children receive is second to none. The feedback to parents is fantastic and I always felt that my children were happy, safe, and coming away with wonderful memories of their time there.

This is a wonderful nursery. My youngest (3rd) has struck gold to have been enrolled here whilst her older brother and sister attend the (equally wonderful) prep school. The nursery itself is set in beautiful surroundings, on the edge of woodlands, where the children get to regularly play. The staff are exceptional - on their hands and knees playing and encouraging. My daughter skips in daily - excited for the fun and adventures ahead. She has developed incredibility with her phonics and other learning. I couldn't be happier and recommend without hesitation.

My wife and I (and our son more importantly) think Woodlands is fantastic. He has loved being there since day one, having been prepared so well by the staff with introductory videos detailing what to expect when settling in days were not possible, due to the pandemic. We are amazed every week by the variety of activities undertaken. This week, for example, the class have been foraging in the woodland setting for wild garlic which was then checked, washed and used to make their very own garlic bread. Just incredible. Separate from this, our son also enjoys the more structured development side of things which is always presented in a creative way for example the phonics, handwriting, music and assembly sessions. Thank you to the manager and The Woodlands team for making our son's time with you so special.

Starting at 3 years old, the aspect we cared most about when choosing a pre-school place for our daughter was a safe, nurturing, attentive and kind environment. It must be scary for a little one to leave their Mum and Dad for the first time for the whole day (it may be more scary for us left at home). I cannot emphasize enough how wonderful all the team at Woodlands have been on truly delivering on this core promise (all during Covid to boot). Our little one cannot wait to go to 'school' and loves her teachers, new friends and all the activities. She has learnt so much and blossoms more by the day. The communications and interactivity make us feel really involved. The facilities are fantastic and everything is so organised. We couldn't be happier.

They offer a really nurturing environment and have dealt with COVID really well. My little one is always bringing creations home and his face lights up when telling me what he did that day. My children have attended other nursery settings but I would definitely recommend this one.

Absolutely delighted with Woodlands at Beechwood Park. Our little one smiles and runs in to meet his friends. He is learning fast, and the reports accurately represent his achievement level. The location is wonderful, and the facilities excellent, including the pool. We are very pleased with his teachers, the regular updates and the frequent prompts to engage him in home activities, that further promote his skills. The website is amazing and the photographs and videos help to keep his grandparents, uncles and wider family up-to-date with his daily life and development.

During my career I have enjoyed teaching children from Nursery upwards in the United Kingdom, the Middle East, Taiwan and the Netherlands. Nursery is by far my favourite year group and working with the children at Woodlands is especially joyful. I find my job energising and thoroughly enjoy learning from the children in my care and, in turn, furthering their achievements.

My experiences have opened my eyes to the different ways children learn, their differing languages and their cultural backgrounds. Our role as educators, is to support not only the children but also their families and at Woodlands, we pride ourselves on our mission to Nurture, Engage, Inspire and Enable children in their learning.

I have always counted myself to be exceptionally lucky as educating young children is rewarding, exciting and full of adventure. There is never a dull day here at Beechwood Park School and Woodlanders are encouraged to be inquisitive, daring and proud learners.

I have worked in Early years setting for over 20+ years and have many years of experience in educating children aged 2-5 years. I currently hold a Level 4 qualification and I'm working towards my Early Years degree after returning to studying.

I enjoy seeing how children progress through their education and how they develop in all areas of our Early Years curriculum.

I completed my teacher training at ‘The London Institute of Education’ and chose to focus on Early Years Education. I then proceeded to teach in London as a Reception teacher before choosing to develop my teaching career internationally. My passion for Early Years continued as I worked as a Nursery or a Reception teacher in Indonesia, Vietnam and The Hague. On returning to England, I trained as a ‘Reading Recovery’ teacher and worked within Key Stage One at a school in Hemel Hempstead, helping children who found learning to read more challenging. I also delivered training and workshops to parents and teachers, helping them understand the development of early reading skills and provided ideas to help children develop a true love of reading. When I began work at Woodlands Nursery in April 2015, I was excited to be working within Early Years again. I have also enjoyed leading the development of phonics and have created a bespoke phonics curriculum for the Woodlands children. The phonics teaching is woven around high-quality texts, as well as singing, music and movement. The curriculum is designed to entwine with the children’s interests and allows them to develop their skills whilst they are engaged with the very important business of play.

I have been teaching for a number of years and I was drawn to work at Woodlands because of the clear love and excitement that the staff have for the children. There never seems to be a ‘typical’ day here… one day we are making up dances to pop songs, the next day we are rolling down the hill with pure joy and the following day we are creating bicycles from biscuits!

There are endless experiences and opportunities for the children in all areas of the Early Years Curriculum. The care shown by the staff to the children is tangible and as a staff team, we also care in the same way about each other. In my ‘spare’ time I am a mummy to my gorgeous son. We love playing board games, eating chocolate and meeting up with friends for adventures.

I have taught children in Early Years for the last 20 years. I am so pleased to have joined Woodlands Nursery – it is such a fun and inspiring place to work and the friendly team is passionate about creating a wonderful learning environment.
I am now officially an ‘empty nest mum’, with my two daughters now living and working in their university towns. I often commute to Scotland and Manchester in the school holidays for visits.

I am kept busy out of school with two old horses to look after and can often be found out walking in the countryside. I am also currently studying to teach children mindfulness to support their mental and emotional wellbeing.
