Our daughter loves Woodlands. Staff are very caring, and they take time to meet each kid's individual needs. Communication is fluid with both management and staff, and we receive periodic updates on our girl's development via the app. Outdoor facilities are superb, and Forest School is a plus. The days are very different for the kids - they have multiple activities - you see kids very happy there! They engage and nurture them. Highly recommended!
We are so lucky to have both of our boys looked after by Woodlands. My second child just joined Woodlands after Easter. He adapted to the routine so quickly and is thoroughly enjoying himself, as expected! Every morning he runs in with a big smile and without looking back. It is such a wonderful place that you will be so confident to leave your child with. The teachers are doing so well in teaching our little ones while nurturing them too. The manager and the team have always been exploring new methods and materials to stimulate children to learn. You can see that they are constantly upgrading their facility too. One extra benefit of going to Woodlands is the massive outdoor field for the little ones to explore. Overall, I would have no hesitation to recommend Woodlands!
We absolutely love Woodlands Nursery. Our son settled in so quickly and is totally thriving. The staff are truly wonderful, so nurturing, creative and fun! The activities have really prepared our son for reception next year. They have really fostered a love for learning, and the range of activities really provides something for everyone. They have a lot of outdoor space and the children are outside a lot, mainly in the playground section. We would love to see them playing in the forest area more often.
Woodlands is absolutely fantastic. My son is acquiring a thirst for knowledge and learning as well as coming home so happy each day he attends. The staff are so lovely, caring, personable and extremely innovative! They ensure the children are always busy with creative activities that spark their interests, adapting their plans to suit the needs of the children.
The facilities are fantastic and daily updates are given so you can see what your child has been up to. Communication between the nursery and parents is great.
My little boy has grown so much in confidence since starting Woodlands and runs in every day without looking back!
I am so pleased we chose Woodlands and that my little boy will experience two years there before starting Reception.
The Woodlands Nursery at Beechwood Park School is like no other. The indoor space is open, bright and colourful. There is ample outdoor space too, with a garden as well as woods and a Forest School. The children all go in happy and leave happy. Two out of three of my children have now been there and both have thrived. I can’t wait for the third to join! Thank you to all the amazing staff for giving our kids such a wonderful first experience of a learning environment.
Woodlands is a wonderful nursery. The setting and facilities are unrivalled - plus it also benefits from lots of the facilities of the prep school with which it is co-located. However, I have been most impressed by the creativity, energy and commitment of the teaching team: our son has come on leaps and bounds in his learning under their care plus he just loves being there. Without a doubt the best nursery I’ve ever come across.
Quite remarkably at such a young age, the children are taught Phonics, French, Maths, Science, PE and more and in such a fun way, that they don't want to come home and run into classes in the morning.
There are constant daily updates given by the teachers to the parents so you always know how your child is feeling/progressing. An extremely safe place for the children and the management is second to none, you couldn't get a better manager who cares about the children and teaches them with kindness and care.
I would strongly recommend Woodlands to any parent who is looking for a nurturing and highly engaging environment where kids can thrive and learn while having fun. The staff are amazing, they truly care about the well-being of the kids. Facilities are superb and outdoor activities take place every day. We can see children's activities via the online journal and there is ongoing two-way communication. Our daughter loves Woodlands and she is thriving there. After school care, in-house, is great too, as they provide tea and activities which is super convenient for working parents.
Both of my children have gone through Woodlands Nursery and I cannot recommend it highly enough. They have both thrived through the nurturing yet highly stimulating environment they have received there and it really has been the most amazing start for them.
A wonderful environment for learning, development and growing confidence. We’ve had two of our kids at Woodlands and both have had a wonderful time with a balanced blend of fun and education focused around the children’s interests. We’ve found Woodlands to be a very nurturing place for our little ones.
Woodlands is a fantastic and nurturing space that I really feel the children are lucky to be at. All children seem so happy there and the staff are all so professional and thoughtful, both on the pastoral and academic side. They have seen it all before and really work with a child-centred approach to bring the best out of the children.
I am fully confident that when I send my child into nursery in the morning she will be fully cared for, supported, understood and catered to. My little one has grown in confidence and developed a wonderful personality which I do believe has been greatly helped by the dedicated staff at Woodlands. The manager cares deeply for the nursery and its children and this is evident in all areas.
Woodlands Nursery has excellent facilities in a beautiful countryside location. Of particular note is the large and well-equipped woodland area used for forest school activities. However, the most important part of any nursery is the staff and Woodlands has assembled a truly dedicated team of teachers who go beyond the call of duty to provide an educational and nurturing environment for pre-school children. My son runs in every morning without a backward glance and has been known to complain about being collected because he was having too much fun. This fun is combined with a syllabus of phonics, language, maths and science, tailored to each child, that is never pressured but gives the children a head start in Reception class when they start school.
Woodlands Nursery is a little hidden gem situated amongst the most beautiful surroundings of Beechwood Park School. Both my girls have blossomed there. The team are fantastic and nothing is too much trouble for them. Every child is made to feel so special and I cannot rate it highly enough. They encourage a child’s inner imagination and creativity through learning and play. No day is the same and they come home with so many exciting stories of what they have been up to. Who would not want to go to Woodlands Nursery! I certainly couldn’t wish for a better place for them to spend these magical early years.
This is my second child to go through Woodlands and I cannot rate this nursery highly enough. The love, support and incredible creativity the children receive on a daily basis is out of this world. They are challenged and engaged and each child is seen as a complete individual with play and learning tailored to their specific needs and preferences. I would encourage all local families to go to an open day and see for yourself how very special it really is!
When she first joined our daughter was quite shy and nervous but she has really blossomed over the last twelve months. The staff have taken the time to get to know her individually and we have worked together to develop her confidence and prepare her for school.
We couldn’t be happier with the nursery and think it provides the perfect balance of care and early education in a safe and welcoming environment.
Wonderful staff who really care and take time to get to know the children well as individuals. My son has developed in leaps and bounds since he’s been at Woodlands. The children clearly have an awesome time learning and playing!
Fantastic staff who are close to the children and apply great attention to fun plus learning.
My son is clearly loving it. There is no better endorsement.
I would highly recommend Woodlands to any parent. The manager and her team are so kind and nurturing. We had a morning where our little one was a bit shy and nervous about going in, as children sometimes are, the next morning the manager and her staff were strategically placed and waiting with distractions to make sure our little one was comfortable coming in - I was very impressed and grateful.

Meet the Team (7)
During my career I have enjoyed teaching children from Nursery upwards in the United Kingdom, the Middle East, Taiwan and the Netherlands. Nursery is by far my favourite year group and working with the children at Woodlands is especially joyful. I find my job energising and thoroughly enjoy learning from the children in my care and, in turn, furthering their achievements.
My experiences have opened my eyes to the different ways children learn, their differing languages and their cultural backgrounds. Our role as educators, is to support not only the children but also their families and at Woodlands, we pride ourselves on our mission to Nurture, Engage, Inspire and Enable children in their learning.
I have always counted myself to be exceptionally lucky as educating young children is rewarding, exciting and full of adventure. There is never a dull day here at Beechwood Park School and Woodlanders are encouraged to be inquisitive, daring and proud learners.
I have worked in Early years setting for over 20+ years and have many years of experience in educating children aged 2-5 years. I currently hold a Level 4 qualification and I'm working towards my Early Years degree after returning to studying.
I enjoy seeing how children progress through their education and how they develop in all areas of our Early Years curriculum.
I completed my teacher training at ‘The London Institute of Education’ and chose to focus on Early Years Education. I then proceeded to teach in London as a Reception teacher before choosing to develop my teaching career internationally. My passion for Early Years continued as I worked as a Nursery or a Reception teacher in Indonesia, Vietnam and The Hague. On returning to England, I trained as a ‘Reading Recovery’ teacher and worked within Key Stage One at a school in Hemel Hempstead, helping children who found learning to read more challenging. I also delivered training and workshops to parents and teachers, helping them understand the development of early reading skills and provided ideas to help children develop a true love of reading. When I began work at Woodlands Nursery in April 2015, I was excited to be working within Early Years again. I have also enjoyed leading the development of phonics and have created a bespoke phonics curriculum for the Woodlands children. The phonics teaching is woven around high-quality texts, as well as singing, music and movement. The curriculum is designed to entwine with the children’s interests and allows them to develop their skills whilst they are engaged with the very important business of play.
I hold an NVQ Level 3 (Children and Young Peoples' Workforce).
My current role is Nursery Teacher and Assistant Lead for our Nursery 1 pupils.
I have worked in Early Years for 9 years, and have been at Woodlands Nursery since September 2017
I have worked in Early Years for 8 years and hold an NVQ Level 3 in Child Care. I have worked at Woodlands since its opening in 2015.
I have been teaching for a number of years and I was drawn to work at Woodlands because of the clear love and excitement that the staff have for the children. There never seems to be a ‘typical’ day here… one day we are making up dances to pop songs, the next day we are rolling down the hill with pure joy and the following day we are creating bicycles from biscuits!
There are endless experiences and opportunities for the children in all areas of the Early Years Curriculum. The care shown by the staff to the children is tangible and as a staff team, we also care in the same way about each other. In my ‘spare’ time I am a mummy to my gorgeous son. We love playing board games, eating chocolate and meeting up with friends for adventures.
I am now officially an ‘empty nest mum’, with my two daughters now living and working in their university towns. I often commute to Scotland and Manchester in the school holidays for visits.
I am kept busy out of school with two old horses to look after and can often be found out walking in the countryside. I am also currently studying to teach children mindfulness to support their mental and emotional wellbeing.
