We are excited to spotlight Tina Jackson, a dedicated professional who has spent an incredible 24 years at Fun Start Childcare. With a genuine passion for childcare, Tina has made a lasting impact on the lives of countless children, helping them learn and progress every step of the way.

Tina's journey in childcare began in 2000 when she completed her Level 3 in Childcare and Education. Shortly thereafter, she took on the role of Manager at Fun Start, where her leadership and vision have been instrumental in shaping the setting into a nurturing environment. In her commitment to continuous growth, Tina furthered her expertise by completing a Level 5 in Childcare and Education in 2019, ensuring she remains at the forefront of best practices in the field.

Living in a neurodiverse household has enriched Tina’s understanding and passion for Special Educational Needs (SEN). This personal experience allows her to advocate effectively for all children, ensuring that each one receives the support they need to thrive.

As the Manager, Tina is deeply involved in the day-to-day operations of the setting. She serves as a Key Person, Safeguarding Lead, and SENDCO (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator), roles that highlight her commitment to both the well-being and educational success of every child in her care.

Tina is also well-qualified, holding certifications in Safeguarding Level 2, Food Hygiene, and First Aid, alongside her current DBS check. These credentials reflect her dedication to creating a safe and nurturing environment for all children.

Among her many passions, Tina is particularly enthusiastic about SEN, Maths, and Story Time. She believes that fostering a love for learning and providing tailored support for diverse needs are essential to early childhood education. Her engaging story times and innovative approaches to teaching math inspire children and colleagues alike.

We’re thrilled to shine a spotlight on Amy Jackson, who has dedicated the last 10 years to nurturing young minds at Fun Start Childcare. With a profound passion for childcare, she plays an integral role in helping children learn and grow, making a positive impact on their early development.

Growing up in a neurodiverse household has profoundly shaped Amy’s understanding and passion for Special Educational Needs (SEN). This personal experience enriches her knowledge and fuels her commitment to creating an inclusive environment where every child can thrive.

During her studies, Amy gained invaluable experience working in various settings with children from birth to 7 years old. This diverse background has equipped her with a broad understanding of child development, enabling her to tailor her approach to meet the unique needs of each child she encounters.

Her journey began after completing her Level 3 in Childcare and Education, which ignited her enthusiasm for working with children. She pursued her passion further by obtaining a BA Hons in Early Childhood Studies, followed by a Master’s Degree in Early Education. This educational foundation, combined with her hands-on experience, allows her to create engaging and supportive learning environments.

In her role as Deputy Manager at Fun Start, Amy wears many hats, serving as a Key Person, Deputy Safeguarding Lead, Health and Safety Lead, and ENCO officer. Her diverse responsibilities showcase her commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of every child in her care.

Amy is also highly trained, holding certifications in Safeguarding Level 2, Food Hygiene, and First Aid, alongside her Makaton training. These qualifications reflect her dedication to providing a safe and enriching experience for all children at Fun Start.

Among her many passions, Amy particularly excels in Phonics, SEN, and Story Time. She believes that fostering a love for reading and supporting diverse learning needs are essential components of early education. Her enthusiasm for these areas inspires both children and colleagues alike.

Monica Pritchett may have only been with Fun Start Childcare for 12 months, but her extensive experience in the field spans an impressive 16 years. With a genuine love for working with children, Monica has cultivated her skills across a variety of settings, making her a valuable addition to our team.

Her journey in childcare began with an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare in 2000, followed by a Level 4 in Management in 2007, and a Level 4 in Child Psychology in 2013. These qualifications highlight her commitment to professional development and her deep understanding of child development. At Fun Start, Monica serves as a childcare practitioner and a key person, where she builds strong relationships with the children and their families.

Monica is not only well-qualified but also holds a valid DBS check, along with certifications in safeguarding, food hygiene, and first aid. Recently, she completed a Level 2 qualification in autism and behaviour that challenges, further enhancing her ability to support all children, particularly those with special educational needs.

Her passions lie in mathematics, special educational needs, child psychology, and neuroscience. Monica believes in the importance of fostering a love for learning and strives to create engaging, stimulating environments for the children in her care.

We’re thrilled to shine a light on Natalie Loynes, who has been an invaluable member of the Fun Start Childcare team for almost a year. Natalie's journey in caring for children began as a foster carer from 2011 to 2015, where she developed a deep understanding of children's needs and the importance of a nurturing environment.

In 2018, Natalie transitioned to a professional role in childcare, and her commitment to early education led her to complete the NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce in 2022. This qualification reflects her dedication to providing high-quality care and education.

At Fun Start Childcare, Natalie serves as a key person for many wonderful children, fostering their growth and development with compassion and expertise. Her qualifications include a valid DBS check, Level 1 safeguarding training, first aid and food hygiene certification, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all.

Natalie's passion lies in Special Educational Needs (SEN), Communication and Language, Maths, and Safeguarding. She continually seeks to create inclusive and engaging learning experiences that empower each child to thrive.

Sarah Garland has been an integral part of the Fun Start Childcare team for several years. She began her career in childcare in 2008 and worked as a nanny from 2010 to 2017 before returning to nurseries to further her impact in early years education.

As a key worker, Sarah plays a crucial role in building strong relationships with the children and their families, ensuring personalized support and care. She holds a Level 3 qualification in childcare and a Level 2 in understanding autism, showcasing her commitment to professional development and her ability to support diverse needs.

As a highly qualified member of the team and keyworker, she possesses a valid DBS certificate and is trained in safeguarding, first aid, and food hygiene, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for all children. A passionate advocate for children with special educational needs (SEN), Sarah draws from her own experiences as a SEN parent. This personal insight fuels her dedication to creating inclusive and supportive learning experiences for every child, making her a valuable asset to the Fun Start Childcare team.

Laura may be a recent addition to the Fun Start Childcare team, but she brings over two years of valuable experience in early years settings. With a strong background in day nurseries, Laura has developed a genuine passion for supporting young children in their learning and development.

She is currently working towards her Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification, demonstrating her commitment to continuous professional growth and a deep understanding of child development. At Fun Start, Laura takes on the role of a childcare practitioner and key person, forming strong, nurturing relationships with both children and their families.

Laura holds a current DBS check and is certified in both safeguarding and first aid, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all children in her care.

She has a particular passion for creative play, speech and language development, and loves bringing energy and joy to song time. Her enthusiasm and caring nature make her a valued member of our team.

Katy may be a recent addition to the Fun Start Childcare team, but she brings over 13 years of valuable experience in early years settings, including before and after-school clubs. With a strong background in day nurseries, Laura has developed a genuine passion for supporting young children in their learning and development.

In 2005, she completed her BTEC National Diploma in Early Years, Level 3, and in 2012, completed her Foundation Degree in Early Childhood, Level 5. At Fun Start, Katy takes on the role of a childcare practitioner and key person, forming strong, nurturing relationships with both children and their families.

Katy holds a current DBS check and is certified in both safeguarding and first aid, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all children in her care.

She has a particular passion for creative play, safeguarding, SEN and loves bringing energy and joy to all activities. Her enthusiasm and caring nature make her a valued member of our team.
