I cannot praise every single member of staff at fun start enough

Fun start childcare is an amazing nursery!
Tina is amazing and has been so helpful in referring our daughter to be assessed for autism! All the girls take the time and have so much patience! They are so understanding of any issue or problem and always happy to have a chat if you're worried about anything!
Our little girl has settled so well and is always happy to go to fun start! She's
come on so much since starting! Even started saying words! Her social skills are improving and she's always happy when I collect her! Even when I'm interrupting her playtime!
So pleased I chose this nursery I wouldn't send her anywhere else! Keep it up ladies!

I cannot recommend Fun Start enough. As two first time parents we were anxious, with a million questions but the staff answered every single one without complaint (and we had a lot!).


They were so accommodating and when we were told our child may have autism, they did not hesitate to step in and

accommodate our son. They were there for us to raise our concerns, research next steps and provide guidance and comfort on the hard days.


Truly cannot thank them for all of their support since our son started in September. My son has spoken highly of all staff here since starting. If he could go to school here till 16 I'd be happy, they know what they're doing and I'm so glad we took the chance to look around and send our son there!

Brought a couple of my children here lovely little local nursery my daughter is really enjoying her time spent there we are updated through the session on DOJO with pictures of the activities they are doing to allow us to see our daughter through the day and playing and learning is lovely.

My son has thoroughly enjoyed attending his speech has come on leaps and bounds the staff have been so supportive of him and caring my son does lots of activities and parents are updated daily on what they have been up to with photos throughout the day. The nursery staff have amazing new activities

I am so grateful for the care my daughters received whilst attending nursery. The staff are incredibly welcoming always going the extra mile to ensure my daughters feel safe and supported. The daily activities are engaging, I love to be involved in the updates and photos of their learning through the
app. I especially appreciate the Key Workers who always make time to discuss progress and any concerns.

We feel so lucky as a family to have our son at Fun Start Childcare, I can't say enough positive things about them they offer fantastic session times. The staff are friendly, nurturing and approachable and are always readily available to answer any questions or concerns,we always feel supported by them.
Staff always make my son feel welcomed and valued as parents we always feel like our son receives the care and attention he needs and always comes out happy and telling us what a lovely day he has had.


My son has been attending since he was 2 and we have seen a huge improvement socially and emotionally. Within the building it has a very warm atmosphere and the environment is amazing and feels homely, there are always different activities and toys available and the outdoor area is safe, secure, fun and age and stage appropriate for all children. I'm so proud to call Fun Start my sons nursery and I wouldn't have chosen anywhere else for the start of my sons education journey! Thank you!

Outstanding! The best nursery in Cannock by far! They have went above and beyond to help me and my daughter who is autistic! They make sure every child's needs are met and treat each child as a individual. If they haven't got what the child needs/likes for example the swing. They will make sure they
have it next time for them. My daughter loves going and has come on so much with the help of her Nursery Practitioner! She is amazing at her job and is so talented. Thank you Fun Start.

First of all, I just want to say a big thank you to all the staff at Fun Start Childcare! They have been outstanding with the care and support my little girl receives! After being diagnosed with autism they have helped us so much! They treat each child as an individual and make sure each child gets

My son has absolutely thrived in the last 18 months he has been at Fun Start, and have no doubt he will continue to do so going forward.
Parents are able to get involved in lots of activities and are always kept aware of the child’s progress. The relationship between the staff and children is beautiful
to see - they’re all treated as independent children, not just a number.
Children follow the curriculum and learn through play - staff always ask for children’s interests so that they can help engage them in the setting, which I think really helps!
They have lots of visits from external agencies - dentists, animal man, rhyme time and dance, amongst others. They have so much fun!
I would also love to point out the holistic, family-wide support they offer - they are a hub for food bank vouchers and try to support the family in any way that they can outside of just looking after your child for a few hours.

We are excited to spotlight Tina Jackson, a dedicated professional who has spent an incredible 24 years at Fun Start Childcare. With a genuine passion for childcare, Tina has made a lasting impact on the lives of countless children, helping them learn and progress every step of the way.


Tina's journey in childcare began in 2000 when she completed her Level 3 in Childcare and Education. Shortly thereafter, she took on the role of Manager at Fun Start, where her leadership and vision have been instrumental in shaping the setting into a nurturing environment. In her commitment to continuous growth, Tina furthered her expertise by completing a Level 5 in Childcare and Education in 2019, ensuring she remains at the forefront of best practices in the field.


Living in a neurodiverse household has enriched Tina’s understanding and passion for Special Educational Needs (SEN). This personal experience allows her to advocate effectively for all children, ensuring that each one receives the support they need to thrive.


As the Manager, Tina is deeply involved in the day-to-day operations of the setting. She serves as a Key Person, Safeguarding Lead, and SENDCO (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator), roles that highlight her commitment to both the well-being and educational success of every child in her care.


Tina is also well-qualified, holding certifications in Safeguarding Level 2, Food Hygiene, and First Aid, alongside her current DBS check. These credentials reflect her dedication to creating a safe and nurturing environment for all children.


Among her many passions, Tina is particularly enthusiastic about SEN, Maths, and Story Time. Amy Jackson

Job Title: Deputy Manager Joined: 2014

We’re thrilled to shine a spotlight on Amy Jackson, who has dedicated the last 10 years to nurturing young minds at Fun Start Childcare. With a profound passion for childcare, she plays an integral role in helping children learn and grow, making a positive impact on their early development.


Growing up in a neurodiverse household has profoundly shaped Amy’s understanding and passion for Special Educational Needs (SEN). This personal experience enriches her knowledge and fuels her commitment to creating an inclusive environment where every child can thrive.


During her studies, Amy gained invaluable experience working in various settings with children from birth to 7 years old. This diverse background has equipped her with a broad understanding of child development, enabling her to tailor her approach to meet the unique needs of each child she encounters.


Her journey began after completing her Level 3 in Childcare and Education, which ignited her enthusiasm for working with children. She pursued her passion further by obtaining a BA Hons in Early Childhood Studies, followed by a Master’s Degree in Early Education. This educational foundation, combined with her hands-on experience, allows her to create engaging and supportive learning environments.


In her role as Deputy Manager at Fun Start, Amy wears many hats, serving as a Key Person, Deputy Safeguarding Lead, Health and Safety Lead, and ENCO officer. Her diverse responsibilities showcase her commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of every child in her care.


Amy is also highly trained, holding certifications in Safeguarding Level 2, Food Hygiene, and First Aid, alongside her Makaton training. These qualifications reflect her dedication to providing a safe and enriching experience for all children at Fun Start.

Monica Pritchett

Job Title: Childcare Practitioner Joined: 2024

Monica Pritchett may have only been with Fun Start Childcare for 12 months, but her extensive experience in the field spans an impressive 16 years. With a genuine love for working with children, Monica has cultivated her skills across a variety of settings, making her a valuable addition to our team.


Her journey in childcare began with an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare in 2000, followed by a Level 4 in Management in 2007, and a Level 4 in Child Psychology in 2013. These qualifications highlight her commitment to professional development and her deep understanding of child development. At Fun Start, Monica serves as a childcare practitioner and a key person, where she builds strong relationships with the children and their families.


Monica is not only well-qualified but also holds a valid DBS check, along with certifications in safeguarding, food hygiene, and first aid. Recently, she completed a Level 2 qualification in autism and behaviour that challenges, further enhancing her ability to support all children, particularly those with special educational needs.


Her passions lie in mathematics, special educational needs, child psychology, and neuroscience. Monica believes in the importance of fostering a love for learning and strives to create engaging, stimulating environments for the children in her care.

Natalie Loynes

We’re thrilled to shine a light on Natalie Loynes, who has been an invaluable member of the Fun Start Childcare team for almost a year. Natalie's journey in caring for children began as a foster carer from 2011 to 2015, where she developed a deep understanding of children's needs and the importance of a nurturing environment.


In 2018, Natalie transitioned to a professional role in childcare, and her commitment to early education led her to complete the NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce in 2022. This qualification reflects her dedication to providing high-quality care and education.


At Fun Start Childcare, Natalie serves as a key person for many wonderful children, fostering their growth and development with compassion and expertise. Her qualifications include a valid DBS check, Level 1 safeguarding training, first aid and food hygiene certification, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all.
