This is no ordinary nursery: It consistently places the developmental needs of the child ahead of educational fashions, tick-box OFSTED exercises, marketing, and even parental convenience! The result is a magical environment, where children truly learn extraordinary emotional maturity, independence, resilience, empathy, problem-solving, and so much more in an entirely safe and loving environment. The skills and values learned at wildflowers will go on to stand them in good stead for their entire lives. If only every child could spend their formative years in this way, the world would honestly be a better place! I could find fault in every school I've taught in and been a parent at, private and state, but not Wildflowers: It has its ways and won't bend on them, so that the children have total consistency. If you can accept that, you will never regret it and your child will receive the best start to schooling you could possibly wish for.
This is a unique opportunity for children to build their imagination, groundedness, wonder, and self-reliance. The setting is beautiful, and the Manager cares very deeply about supporting the children and encouraging independence and self-esteem as well as introducing key educational concepts.
There are rare educators who don't just teach children-they help them unfold. The Manager and the team at Wildflowers are exactly that. What she offers goes far beyond early years education. Wildflowers is a sanctuary of presence, gentleness, and respect for each child's being. It's a place where children are met with warmth and a deep steadiness that allow them to feel safe, thrive, and be fully themselves. The Manager has cultivated something extraordinary - an environment that is calm, creative and deeply nourishing for young souls. Children don't just attend Wildflowers; they are seen, heard and truly held.
For our family, sending our children to Wildflowers was without doubt one of the best parenting decisions we've made. It has shaped not just our children's early years, but rhythm and resilience of our whole family. At a time when it mattered the most, her presence and that of the Wildflowers community made a quiet but lasting difference. We are endlessly grateful.
Sending our daughter to Wildflowers is the best decision we could have made and we highly recommend it. It's magical, nurturing and the most joyful of settings. Our daughter has flourished there. It feels almost like an classical setting yet with the perfect structure, love and care. Management and the team are so kind and knowledgeable and all the children adore them. We feel so fortunate to have found Wildflowers.
It is a completely unique place for children to grow and explore. The manager and the team are so nurturing and supportive of the children, helping them to discover the many wonders of the beautiful Hampshire countryside as well as giving them all the essential building blocks ahead of their school journey.
Having come from a busy London setting, we feel so grateful we're able to give our daughter the opportunity to spend so much time in nature with people who are so committed to their emotional, physical and social development.
Wildflowers is a very unique and special setting, where our son has grown in confidence, independence and resilience even within the short time he has been there (1 term). The manager has created a culture of curiosity and wonder for both the inner world of the individual child's development of self and the outer world, fostering in the children a deep appreciation for connecting with the outdoors and seizing all moments as learning opportunities. The mutual respect between the adults and children is unlike any other early years setting I have experienced (even as an ex-teacher) and witnessing the staff navigate conversations with the children is a lovely thing. It's an environment that nurtures the understanding that each child is part of the wildflowers community, and has their part to play, with clear expectations as well as the encouragement to grow into themselves as authentic individuals.
My son has made some great friends and as a result we've got to know quite a few families; friendships that I'm sure will last after my son moves on to school.
My son has attended Wildflowers for over a year and a half and he is developing into a quietly confident, kind and curious boy who loves the outdoors. Great care is taken to create individual learning plans for the children to best prepare them for when they move on to school. Wildflowers is a unique place and I cannot recommend it highly enough.
The kids are outdoors every day regardless of the weather and learning about nature, the seasons and life. They are then rested, and fed a warm wholesome meal and allowed to play and discover. The manager and her team have truly created an incredible place. She has carefully crafted each process and activity they do over the years by watching and learning. She is inspired by children and their natural abilities and creates the space for this to truly lead the way. I learnt so much from her. My child loved every second and still insists we visit even though she has now moved on to school.
Wildflower is a really special place. Both my children have been there and have had the most wonderful experience. Children are given the freedom to explore the natural world whilst learning through discovery and play. The manager works tirelessly and puts so much care and love into every detail. I know that Wildflowers has given my children the best possible start and I am very grateful to the manager and her team.
The manager and her team of wonderful teachers have given our child such a rewarding and interesting time at Wildflowers; his love of nature, particularly flowers, has blossomed under their supervision.
Wildflowers Kindergarten is an exceptional place run by amazing and dedicated individuals. The children spend most of their time outside, come rain or shine, experiencing and learning from nature. They enjoy the freedom to express themselves within the stability of a structured routine. And whilst they're busy having fun they accidentally learn a huge amount, developing both as little people and also absorbing knowledge from the caring and brilliant staff. We feel incredibly fortunate to have found Wildflowers Kindergarten. Our son has thrived and we can't wait to send our daughter when she's old enough. We couldn't recommend it more highly.
We were fortunate to discover Wildflowers! We were searching for a nature orientated kindergarten that allowed our little one to develop at her own pace. Since starting at Wildflowers our little one has blossomed and is growing from strength to strength. She is so excited to go to kindergarten in the mornings and equally when we pick her up in the afternoon. All she can talk about is her kindergarten and the friends that she plays with each day! The manager and her team are absolutely amazing and are extremely attentive to the children's needs and development. Wildflowers is truly a magical place and comes highly recommended!
The owner/manager is so passionate about early years and wants the very best for your children.
The staff are wonderful and caring.
The food is vegetarian and organic and they eat by candlelight in a calm and organised environment!
They venture out every day regardless of the weather. They don’t take toys outdoors… this is a proper “forest school” where they head out into nature with curious minds and play play play! Children are taught the importance of community and respect.
You really have to meet the team and spend time with them which is encouraged, it’s magical. I feel very grateful my kids went here.
A magical place where children can thrive and develop, connect with nature and each other. Child-led learning with boundaries as necessary - such places should not be a rarity, rather a norm! Thoroughly recommend.
Our son started at Wildflowers just before he turned three. We had been looking for somewhere with an outdoor focus on education and Wildflowers more than ticked the box. It is a really unique kindergarten, with a fantastic team wholly focused on supporting, educating and caring for the children. My son is now an all-weather child, genuinely happy to be outside in wind, rain or snow. His speech has come on leaps and bounds and he is a very happy and sociable child, all of which I put to the care he has received at Wildflowers. I cannot recommend Wildflowers Kindergarten and team more highly.
My daughter has been attending Wildflowers since she was 3 and loves it. Children learn so much from just being in nature. Wildflowers provide a very supportive environment to build confidence and independence in children. It has a very balanced combination of outdoor and indoor activities, healthy nutritious meals and experienced, loving staff. View less.
The first half of the day is spent outdoors in the forest (come rain or shine) where she will take them on walks and allow them to learn through play. The children are encouraged to work together to solve problems and snacks are offered in the form of water and homemade bread. Afternoons include a rest, lunch and learning in a beautifully converted barn.
Our children have flourished in this environment and I can highly recommend that it makes your shortlist for prospective pre-schools. It has multiple Ofsted ratings of outstanding and if you haven't heard about it that is because the marketing is word of mouth only!
Thank you Steve! For snack in the woods, the children also get a bowl of mixed fruits and berries.
