Forest Hill Montessori is a private day care nursery situated in Forest Hill, London. The nursery is ideally positioned for both local residents and commuters.

Alongside the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) curriculum, the Nursery follows the Montessori method of education, which was developed by Dr Maria Montessori, and is a child-centered educational approach. It is an approach that focuses on the development of the whole child, physical, social, emotional and cognitive.

The Montessori Method is an approach to learning which emphasizes active learning, independence, cooperation, and learning in harmony with each child’s unique pace of development. It is a holistic approach emphasizing all aspects of development, rather than on attaining specific pieces of information. The Pre-School children take part in daily Montessori sessions with the qualified Montessori teacher.

The Nursery’s approach goes above and beyond the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) to foster deep level learning and optimise potential.

They offer a range of unique educational experiences which enable children to become successful, lifelong learners including, Wake up and shake up ,a range of bespoke activities which promote your child’s well-being and confidence, and Garden Champions.

Garden Champions is the Nursery’s own bespoke Above and Beyond Educational Experience gardening activity. This activity extends children’s knowledge of the outdoor environment, habitats, caring for living things, growth cycles and growing vegetation outdoors.

The Nursery Chef prepares all the children’s meals fresh on the premises each day, and the menus have been designed using the latest nutritional software to ensure they are nutritionally balanced, as well as delicious.

My son really seems to have settled very well at the nursery and has a great relationship with his key worker, who is really helpful every day. I'd love to see and hear more about the activities the children are doing during the day! That would be my only suggestion.

All the staff we have come across have been lovely. I have been frustrated with the lack of consistency and comms regarding moving up a class, would have thought these comms would come from management. Better care could have been taken regarding the Covid outbreak in December. A curtain in preschool
wasn't really separating bubbles. Some concern over discipline approach in pre-school, as my child has repeated some of the details - sending to baby room threat?

We've has a wonderful time at Forest Hill Montessori. Our child has grown up here, he will be in a very good position to start school in September. The staff are wonderful and very caring. We will miss Forest Hill Montessori very much!

Interactive, fun, with professional staff. Under new management and I am excited to see new things. Very happy with the nursery and happy to recommend it. Staff are fully committed to the children's development and the variety of activities is evidence of this.

Our son has really enjoyed his time at this nursery since he was 11 months old, all the way through to being ready for school. He has blossomed and this is thanks to the nurturing staff, many of whom he has formed close bonds with. He has made great friends here and has so many fond memories and experiences.

Our daughter loves goes to nursery and we never have any trouble getting her through the door. She is always full of beans and happy when we come to pick her up. The staff clearly care and make each day full of fun.
Some of the communication could be improved. I still don't know if my daughter has
a key worker and if she does who it is, it seems to change without notification.

Our children are very happy there. Nice, good, caring staff. They are quite flexible as well.
Common feedback heard among parents (and our experience) is that if you have very specific requests for your child, they are not always followed. We're not particularly fussed about this. The children are
happy and staff really nice and caring which is what matters most in the end!

I can’t recommend this nursery enough, the staff here are amazing. It’s daunting leaving your little ones anywhere but they took the stress away and my little girl settled straight away which meant I was happy at work knowing she was okay.

Excellent nursery, so clean and tidy. Staff are amazing kids come home with something they’ve learnt every day which is amazing. Management are fast at replying to any issues raised (never really any issues).

Brilliant nursery I can fully recommend. The boys are walking evidence of committed staff, right down to their potty training. All-round brilliant. The boys eat so well and play great with other children.

Lovely nursery, really helpful and knowledgeable staff.

My daughter loves her time at nursery. The team are exceptional and provide a loving environment for my daughter to flourish in. They also provide some amazing activities and send regular updates and ideas to do at home which is great. I could not recommend this nursery higher. Keep up the amazing work.

We are really pleased with the nursery since ICP took over. There is good communication between nursery and ICP management. There has been investment in facilities and the staff are lovely. It is a great setting in which my son is thriving.

We are happy with the nursery. The manager and the team do a fantastic job of managing everything. The team are all lovely, caring, and I feel very confident leaving my child in their care. My son loves going to nursery. The nursery has a real family vibe, which feels very special.

Our son has been at Forest Hill Montessori since he was 10-months-old and he loves it. The staff are kind, imaginative and affectionate with all the children. It is a fun learning environment, and they've navigated recent events with compassion and care, and have gone out of their way to keep parents
informed and given tips on things to do at home during the lockdown. The gardens and play area are safe, fun and well stocked with toys and play equipment. The nursery has recently started preparing meals on-site, which is much better, our son loves it!

Our son really enjoys his time at Forest Hill Montessori and we always feel very comfortable to leave him there. The staff are very friendly and he has made a lot of friends in the warm and comfortable environment the nursery creates. Activities revolve a lot around independent play and exploring the
outdoor space in the toddler group. Now that he has moved into the older toddler group we would like to see some more formalised learning, particularly as the group size is nice and small (only 10). Overall we have had a very positive experience with the nursery, staff and management, particularly through the challenging re-opening following the COVID shut-down. Definitely recommended for anyone with kids in the Forest Hill area!
