Forest Hill Montessori Nursery

My son loves going to nursery, the majority of the staff are lovely and very caring. He always has lots of fun. We would appreciate better communication and more details of the daily activities or progress of learning. But overall, we are happy with the nursery.

The recent change in new staff and management has seen a fantastic diverse lead team. Through feedback and activities such as baking on Wednesday and local trips to the co-op have been fantastic for our little one's development. Our daughter's key worker has worked tirelessly to create a warm and fantastic bond with our daughter. New management has been very considerate to any ongoing concerns.

Overall, myself and my husband are very happy with Forest Hill Montessori Nursery. We had and are having a great experience with our eldest child who has been going to nursery since 2018. And our second child just started at the Babies Room. Staff are extremely caring and always very friendly.

Our brief experience so far with Forest Hill Montessori Nursery has been a good one. The registration process, visit and the settling-in period has been very smooth and reassuring. As a first-time mum who is nervous about leaving her daughter for the first time, the whole process has been great. The manager has been very good at communicating with me and making me feel like my daughter is in safe and caring hands.

My son really seems to have settled very well at the nursery and has a great relationship with his key worker, who is really helpful every day. I'd love to see and hear more about the activities the children are doing during the day! That would be my only suggestion.

All the staff we have come across have been lovely. I have been frustrated with the lack of consistency and comms regarding moving up a class, would have thought these comms would come from management. Better care could have been taken regarding the Covid outbreak in December. A curtain in preschool wasn't really separating bubbles. Some concern over discipline approach in pre-school, as my child has repeated some of the details - sending to baby room threat?

We've has a wonderful time at Forest Hill Montessori. Our child has grown up here, he will be in a very good position to start school in September. The staff are wonderful and very caring. We will miss Forest Hill Montessori very much!

Interactive, fun, with professional staff. Under new management and I am excited to see new things. Very happy with the nursery and happy to recommend it. Staff are fully committed to the children's development and the variety of activities is evidence of this.

Our son has really enjoyed his time at this nursery since he was 11 months old, all the way through to being ready for school. He has blossomed and this is thanks to the nurturing staff, many of whom he has formed close bonds with. He has made great friends here and has so many fond memories and experiences.

Some of the communication could be improved. I still don't know if my daughter has a key worker and if she does who it is, it seems to change without notification.

Common feedback heard among parents (and our experience) is that if you have very specific requests for your child, they are not always followed. We're not particularly fussed about this. The children are happy and staff really nice and caring which is what matters most in the end!

I can’t recommend this nursery enough, the staff here are amazing. It’s daunting leaving your little ones anywhere but they took the stress away and my little girl settled straight away which meant I was happy at work knowing she was okay.

Excellent nursery, so clean and tidy. Staff are amazing kids come home with something they’ve learnt every day which is amazing. Management are fast at replying to any issues raised (never really any issues).

Brilliant nursery I can fully recommend. The boys are walking evidence of committed staff, right down to their potty training. All-round brilliant. The boys eat so well and play great with other children.

Great to see how my grandchildren are so happy and thriving in the nursery. Satisfying to know they are being encouraged to learn lots of new things from such a young age, keep up the good work!

My daughter loves her time at nursery. The team are exceptional and provide a loving environment for my daughter to flourish in. They also provide some amazing activities and send regular updates and ideas to do at home which is great. I could not recommend this nursery higher. Keep up the amazing work.

We are really pleased with the nursery since ICP took over. There is good communication between nursery and ICP management. There has been investment in facilities and the staff are lovely. It is a great setting in which my son is thriving.

Our son has been at Forest Hill Montessori since he was 10-months-old and he loves it. The staff are kind, imaginative and affectionate with all the children. It is a fun learning environment, and they've navigated recent events with compassion and care, and have gone out of their way to keep parents informed and given tips on things to do at home during the lockdown. The gardens and play area are safe, fun and well stocked with toys and play equipment. The nursery has recently started preparing meals on-site, which is much better, our son loves it!

Our son really enjoys his time at Forest Hill Montessori and we always feel very comfortable to leave him there. The staff are very friendly and he has made a lot of friends in the warm and comfortable environment the nursery creates. Activities revolve a lot around independent play and exploring the outdoor space in the toddler group. Now that he has moved into the older toddler group we would like to see some more formalised learning, particularly as the group size is nice and small (only 10). Overall we have had a very positive experience with the nursery, staff and management, particularly through the challenging re-opening following the COVID shut-down. Definitely recommended for anyone with kids in the Forest Hill area!
