Ashley Cross Montessori Day Nursery

A truly wonderful nursery. Both my children attended and loved every single day. We strongly believe in the Montessori approach and this nursery reminds me of the nursery I went to as a child in Germany. We chose Ashley Cross Montessori over other nurseries closer to home and never regretted it. Both my children are very different in character and I feel both were taken care of according to their individual sentiments. They weren’t treated with a one size fits all approach, but each teacher took the time to get to know them and help them grow their strengths and overcome any areas they found challenging. I couldn’t recommend this nursery enough.

A truly wonderful nursery. The staff are kind, caring, adaptive, diligent, and professional. I truly believe our children are better people because of the guidance given by the nursery - certainly when we (as new parents) had any child-related questions or concerns they always offered advice and support. Our children absolutely loved attending and I can't recommend them enough!

We love this nursery! Our 1 year old started when he was 9 months old and - especially after being born in lockdown - has become such a social and independent little boy. We love the variety of activities being offered and our son has certainly enjoyed watching the live ballet dancing that was arranged. The staff is very caring and professional but also personable and friendly. For us it definitely feels like an interesting, caring and inspiring nursery where our son loves to spend his time.

We couldn't imagine a better nursery in the world. Our son is so happy, so well looked after, and learning at a speed of knots. We've been so impressed by how they've handled covid. The nursery has felt safe, normal, and just as jolly. It's a small nursery and the children receive a lot of attention - development is tracked closely, skills gently taught, and Montessori independence instilled. Would recommend to everyone.

I love this setting. My daughter is thriving and her confidence is just amazing. The staff are wonderful, so caring and always helpful. The activities offered are such fun and educational for all children. It's also located in a very easy to access location. I would definitely recommend this nursery.

My daughter started with Ashley Cross Montessori when she was 2.5. Having visited several others in the area this is the only one I was really comfortable with. They did not disappoint! My daughter started school in September a happy and confident little girl who knows her own mind and this was completely encouraged by the nursery. She was always well cared for and always wanted to go into nursery. Thank you to the manager and her team for everything. I would highly recommend this nursery.

I can only recommend the nursery and the amazing neam at Ashley Cross! My child joined them in 2019 and did not speak English at the time yet we felt assured that she'd be fine. She thrived thanks to the team. The start was not easy for her (as it usually isn't) and the team supported her emotionally so well that she soon felt happy and safe with them, and I was confident she is in great care. The Montessori method is applied wonderfully in this nursery. The environment is calm, it's inspiring children to discover more of the world in their own time. The staff supports the children's own development, not forcing activities on them, going with the child's lead and helping them to make the most of their days. I love how children get to know and practice with everyday objects. I love that they encourage the children to be independent and that they communicate so well with children and parents. Emotions are acknowledged and worked with. We feel really supported and cared for here.

Our daughter had a difficult start to her nursery life as her settling in days happened just before lockdown. She returned to nursery in September and after lockdown, where she didn’t socialise much at all, she struggled, but Ashley Cross Montessori have been fantastic and she is so settled there now. They really are wonderful and so caring with the children. I love how laid back it feels even with all the Covid precautions. Our daughter has such fun and is learning so much with the nursery. I would recommend it to all.

A fantastic place for any child to start their learning. Our little boy is just leaving after 2 wonderful years (to go to school) and we would highly recommend the Nursery and the Team to anyone looking for excellent childcare and education. The team are really patient and really care about the children and we also really benefited from their experience and knowledge. Our little boy was born premature so we are always trying to benchmark his development to ensure he is OK and their feedback, advice and support was fantastic. Thank you to everyone involved!

Wonderful nursery, a bright open plan space with lots of interesting educational tools for little ones. Really warm and welcoming staff. My little one has severe allergies and they have really taken it seriously, which makes me feel like he is in a safe place. Most of all my son loves it and has learned and developed so much. He doesn't want to come home at the end of the day!

She was extremely happy there. The staff were very friendly and caring to her and to us and prepared her very well for school (mainly through play) without her or us even realising! The staff were also very professional. Our daughter had a history of febrile convulsions and she had a fit whilst in their care. They rang for an ambulance and contacted us immediately. I liked that the teachers were mixed in age, sex and ethnicity - I was very impressed that my daughter learnt how to count in French and Spanish whilst at nursery.

My daughter went to Ashley Cross Montessori for 18 months before leaving to start school. The nursery is a welcoming, caring and nurturing environment where staff treat every child as an individual. My daughter was so happy at the nursery and she adored the people who work there. The nursery encourage independence and important life skills, they allow children to learn, grow and explore at their own pace. The nursery is 100% child-led which means children are not forced into activities they don’t want to do but gently encouraged to try new things, explore nature and experiment with ingredients and craft materials. They leave feeling confident and having an amazing understanding about the world around them. I cannot praise the nursery enough and am so grateful for the time that my daughter spent with them.

I cannot fault the nursery in any way. They are nurturing, helpful to both parents and kids, accommodating and friendly. The setting is clean, beautiful and stimulating. My twins went to the nursery for a year and a half and I saw them go from strength to strength. The school transition was excellent and they are now thriving in school, are independent and confident. I couldn't ask for more.

Our daughter who is 2 has been going to Ashley Cross Montessori since August, The team there were amazing at getting her settled and she absolutely loves going now. She often talks about staff members and her friends over the weekend and is always excited about going.

Since starting there her vocabulary, imagination, counting, confidence and understanding of language have come on amazingly, and whilst she has always been a good puzzle solver she will now tell us what she's doing when she works on a puzzle.

The team are brilliant, very friendly and welcoming and always available to talk through things if needs be. They update tapestry regularly which really helps us get a window into her world and lets us see what she is learning.

We are extremely happy with every element of Ashley Cross Montessori, and after visiting several pre-schools beforehand we know we made the right choice sending her here.

Great nursery! Super clean and fun! My 3yr old daughter settled in instantly and is learning so many new things. She loves her time at nursery, enjoys making things and painting. All the staff are so friendly, it’s no surprise the children are all lovely and kind??

She always asks that she wants to go to play school every day and looks forward to going back when she isn’t in that day she always talks about the teachers on how nice they are.

It’s amazing how they teach the children and what they do. Baking bread and teaching them different things on a learning basis.

I highly recommend Ashley cross Montessori such a great bunch of people and make you feel very welcoming.

Before our son joined nursery he was very clingy, shy and reluctant to play with other children. He really wasn't happy with the prospect of going to nursery, but within a few weeks he had settled in and the highlight of our day was him telling us everything he had done there, from gardening to numbers to baking. His confidence grew and he became far more sociable.

Whilst our daughter had gone to Ashley Cross Montessori a few years earlier and thrived, she is a very confident extrovert, so it was great to know that the nursery is responsive to all personalities. We found the nursery staff and manager very supportive of the children (and parents!) and we were sad when it was time for our son to leave and go to school. However, I know that our son has benefited hugely from his experience at Ashley Cross Montessori, and the life skills and confidence he took from this has helped his transition to school.

Both our children have great memories of their nursery and still ask to visit.

My son started here when he was 2 and left if August 2018 when he started school. The staff are very professional and friendly and my son loved the 3 years he spent there. They picked up on and worked on his weak points encouraging him to and keep us up dated every step of the way. I could not be happier.
